It's a no brainer.

So you're saying that Albania has absolutely no control over the northern part of its territory too? :)

@NIK KS

You, Nik, like most of Kosovo Albanians were the citizen of Yugoslavia and later of Serbia against your will. You may say so, fine with me. But:
Of your (K.A) free will you very often ignored mandatory 8 yrs elementary education in Kosovo which was offered in your own language and not only in Kosovo. Of your free will many of you chose not to send girls to schools: parents would gladly pay fines for not having their children attend the school.Of your free will you accepted free education, complete medical coverage - free: mental/dental "i ocno i bocno" (you know our language) scholarships, too. As a national minority you were priority in the line for acceptance to the dorms, jobs, housing anywhere in Serbia, even if sometimes your qualifications were below requirements. Of your free will, you securely played your strongest card - "discrimination on the national basis" whenever it suited your interest. Your own AZEM VLASI is so representative of your "suffering" in Yugoslavia; wouldn't be surprised to hear from him the stories how he was beaten, taken money from, prevented of traveling through Serbia...Such stories are chosen of your free will and free imagination, they don't cost money, they are only the matter of self respect and honesty. So my dear landsman, I know you too, to the last bit of your past and present: from the white polar bears to the Bondsteel. Which might be very much the only picture of your bright, independent future to be enjoyed from afar.

If this conference is to be cancelled than should serve as a lesson to Serbian politicians. This shows to them that Kosovo Independece is aknowledged and that Serb politicinas shold be used to Kosovo delegation in conferences otherwise no conference for Serbia too ;-)

The Serbian people and the Serbian government seem to have some serious misconceptions about the attitude and position of the Kosovar Albanians, which is not very surprising considering that even before the 1999 war, Serbs knew almost nothing about the Albanians, while we knew a lot about the attitudes, political positions and general character of the Serbs, we learned their language, read their books, studied in their universities.

(Nick KS, 12 March 2010 11:19)

With PIGS (Portugal, Ireland, Greece, and Spain) about to go down economically...you can bet your money that if there is any bailout it will come with incentives / strings.
(RKS, 12 March 2010 18:03)

yeah, kosovo is so central, so important for those who recognised it that they are going to bully the "pigs" (a moronic term insulting to the countries in question) into recognising kosovo.

Zoran, what you failed to realize is that we do not live in the "majority of world" but we live in the European Continent. The majority of EU 22 to 5 has recognized Kosovo. Kosova/o and albania are one and the same.
-------
I totally disagree...Kosovo Albanians and Serbs get along much better than you think...here's a true story for you:

I ran a manufacturing floor where Albanians from Kosovo and Albanians from Albania proper worked together. FYI...they couldn't stand each other! The Kos Albanians just hated what kind of peasants the Alb Albanians were, and how lazy they were always trying to take the easy way out. The Alb Albanians acted as if they were the superior Albanians and treated the Kos Albanians like traitors and 2nd class citizens. It was amazing to me that the Kos Albanians only mingled with the Serbs at the job site and at the coffee shops where I would see them in a social setting. They were the best of friends, respected each other, and both had a tremendous work ethic. The Alb Albanians were really a criminal sort and very unpleasant to work with, and manage. I think that is who started the problems in Kosovo. Just my opinion, so don't get your panties twisted in a knot.

The reality is that the overwhelming majority of the world does not recognise "Kosova" and never will. The EU and US will have to choose between Serbia and some illegal entity run by criminals. The choice really is fairly clear.
(Zoran, 12 March 2010 10:00)
They have made the choice for Kosovo over Serbia's wishes and daily come out and say it is a done deal and cannot be reversed.
The choice to make is not between the two but how long they are going to extend a hand to Serbia before giving up.

US, EU and the Balkan region have had their say about Kosovo. I guess you wouldn't like to open this debate.

I still realise that some people still forget so let me remind that Kosovo is Albania. We have practically no border(or EXTREMELY simbolic one), as from next we wont need neither IDs as there will be NO BORDER AT ALL.

Foreign Ministries are one, as they are coordinated at the highest level. In about 5 years KOSOVO will become again a province, and will remain for ever so, a PROVINCE OF ALBANIA.

This way, by being a province (of ALbania), Serbia will not have any difficulties in acceopting ONLY one flag, one hymn, one language and one history, thus ALL IN ONE, THE REPUBLIC OF ALBANIA UNITED

"Mission impossible" for this "conference" is just ideal for Serbia.

The bottom line is reached, EU will finally have to decide to be wise and to sort out its priority on the Balkans.
Is it to have democratic cooperative Serbia on its side or to support "mafia black hole called KosovA"?

If they possibly make a wrong choice, then Balkan is blocked and that will include partially as well Croatia, Slovenia and SE EU.

Nick KS

pre 14 godina

The Serbian Government should understand that their non participation in conferences such as this hurts them just as much as it hurts Kosova (if not more). Tadic should understand that by boycotting conferences organized or facilitated by the EU he is only opening the door to more Russian and Chinese influence, which is very very bad if he wants to keep his position as President of Serbia or risk losing it to more radical parties.

Kosova, while it may be important to the Serbs because of national or historic reasons (at least in their mind) is not / and should not be more important than the future of the people of Serbia.

Even in the highly unlikely case Serbia regains sovereignty over Kosova, that sovereignty is only going to be in paper and will be worth absolutely nothing. Serbia will never be able to militarily or administratively control Kosova, because that will automatically lead to another war. A war which, the Kosovar Albanians are more prepared to fight now, and a war in which NATO will almost certainly intervene again, if for nothing else than to save its honor.

The misconception lies in the fact that the Serb people and Government somehow seem to think that they can talk the Kosovar Albanians out of their hard earned freedom. A freedom which countless generations worked and died for.

The difference between you and us dear Serbian posters, is that we fight to protect our homes and our families, that are real and that are HERE NOW. You on the other hand fight to increase your sense of self-importance, you fight because that’s what King Lazar did 600 years ago, you fight because you love to fight and you fight because if you don’t you will be criticized for not being nationalistic enough.

If there is one thing that we have in common its our sense of family and the importance we attach to this sacred institution. Never get between a Serb or Albanian and his family, because no matter what you think you have won now, you will ultimately lose.

What's the point of this conference organised by Slovenia and Croatia when Spain, as EU president, will organise one in Sarajevo based on reality? Whether UNMIK-Kosovo attends is their issue and it won't really matter whether they do or don't.

“I believe that we will succeed,” Pahor said, adding that he is in constant contact with Kosor and other European leaders..."

Well if he wants Serbia to participate, he should be in constant contact with Serbia not with "Kosor and other European leaders", 'cause it's not their call...

Are these people trained in foreign relations at all? Or are we just wasting time looking at clowns?

With PIGS (Portugal, Ireland, Greece, and Spain) about to go down economically...you can bet your money that if there is any bailout it will come with incentives / strings.
(RKS, 12 March 2010 18:03)

yeah, kosovo is so central, so important for those who recognised it that they are going to bully the "pigs" (a moronic term insulting to the countries in question) into recognising kosovo.

So you're saying that Albania has absolutely no control over the northern part of its territory too? :)

@NIK KS

Slovenia conference “mission impossible”

O what a surprise. Conference can't happen without Serbia being present, this is pretty obvious.

Wait dont you albanians always complain how u were mistreated dident get to go to university and how u were treated like a secondclass citizen. hmmm in what country does a second class citizen get to go to a university

If this conference is to be cancelled than should serve as a lesson to Serbian politicians. This shows to them that Kosovo Independece is aknowledged and that Serb politicinas shold be used to Kosovo delegation in conferences otherwise no conference for Serbia too ;-)

Please show me the UN SC resolution that states that Kosovo can become independent?!

Simple answer folks - Thaci stays in his self imposed and declared prison.

It's a no brainer.

You can't have an international delegation from a country that exists in theory.
