A little reminder to the dream catchers of what the sticker 1244 means!
(The Swiss, 9 March 2010 19:34)
Yes the true meaning of 1244, for the first time in history, the UN had to seize control of a part of a memeber state and move forces in to protect the citizens from government forces. Was this the meaning you wanted everyone to remember?

UNMIK staff is pretty much locked up at TSS compound with very limitted staff, practically doing nothing and still get a hefty salary. Also there is a small number in northern Mitro. At the end of the day, UNMIK has no power anymore.

How do you figure this ? And if that is the case as you claim it to be,how come your supposed "nation" is called Kosovo-UNMIK ?

So again: Kosovo is still a UN governed Serbian province!

Yes, UN was governing Kosova before 2 yeras ago. At that time SRSG had the power to declare null and void any legislation passed in Kosova/o Parlament. Not anymore my friend.

"instead of having one parent (Yugo) Kosovo is now a step-child of a half-dozen or so organizations. This looks certainly like a progress - not"

So you now agree that the Kosovar children no longer need UNMIK, EULEX, KFOR, ICO and the rest of the alphabet soup and should be allowed to ... rule themselves as an independent country??!! For once I agree with you ataman.

When asked if, should the ICJ in some way say that the unilaterally declared independence was legal, this would send a message that UN management of a territory was just a step away from its secession, the UNMIK chief answered negatively.

“The fact that I’m here and that UNMIK is acting even after the proclamation of independence says that it will not be so,” said he.
