"Every soldier in Afganistan from whatever nation is paid really well and most of them are volunteers, they go there for the money"

Where did you get this false information?

I know of several US soldiers who are in Afghanistan, one who left just two weeks ago. There was no extra money offered, none.

KU

pre 14 godina

6000 euros a month to go to Afganistan. Would there be any takers from Serbian army?

I am sure nobody was sent that did not want to go. I am positive that there was a "who wants to go to Afganistan for 4/5/6/7 thousand euros a month? We need only 25" question floating around, and I am sure that more than 25 people signed up. The same would happen in any army in the world. Every soldier in Afganistan from whatever nation is paid really well and most of them are volunteers, they go there for the money. Unless Montenegro is an exception.

Haaaa! Montenegro was pressured to recognize Kosovo and now the American show their gratitude by letting Montenegrins die for the American cause. I can't wait for Serbia to join!!!
(Mikael C, 8 March 2010 15:06)

Not Serbia, too many people hate NATO, but there will be plenty of Albanians, Croats and Montenegrins to die for a worthy cause.

Smart move. They are sending a symbolic amount of troops there and are automatically increasing their chance to join NATO and EU.
(Adrian, Timisoara, 8 March 2010 19:20)

Hang on I’ll break out the Moet and toast to their success. I assume you’re on the board of NATO and EU and will be handling the applications.
Where do these comments come from? The EU needs another mouth to feed like a hole in the head.

"But the lives of 25 families in Montenegro changed today in a different way - it changed into days and nights of constant worry and fear. I only hope and pray for them to go safely through this nightmare"

Where were that kind of comment during the wars in former-YU ? By then, there were like 2.500.000 families with sons in war.

Terrible.

But I have hope. Ukraine was also persuaded to break historic bonds with their blood brothers. It worked only for a certain amount of time but as we know now, nothing in vain lasts forever.

Yushchenko=Djukanovic

Wake up Crna Gora, your future is with Serbia, not with Afghanistan...

Blood money in return for non prosecution of Milo Djukanovic?
Problem is that this only buys a bit of time, until the next bit of blackmail...
(bganon, 8 March 2010 15:27)

Too right you are. I just wonder what the next bit of blackmail is.
Also, would these same djetici go against their brothers in Serbia in order to keep Milos's behind out of prison?

The way things are going, it's not too far fetched to consider it.

Lol... I loved your comment man.., like all support comming from Balcan coutries to NATO aliance for Afghan war it's rather symbolic than heroic, most of them will be cooks and serving food anyway.

25... Please don't make jokes. That number is not going to bring any change in the war, but it already brought a positive change in the lives of some 25 boys that stayed home. Positive change in the lives of at least 25 families.

Anyway, I wish them deep shade, good room and food service, freedom to sleep until noon and so on... Otherwise they're in Montenegro in 2 (TWO) days.

If it come to Afghan attack in those two days I'm pretty sure they'd like to see Serbs "on shoulder" very much. It's even possible they'll switch the sides because of familiar configuration of land on Afghan side. Good luck Djetici! Now I'm sure Afghan war is ending finally!

now that montenegro has sent half of their army to help NATO lol who is going to defend montenegro this guy is a joke he is doing everything to destroy his so called montengrin people, well its time to have a autonomy talk for the Serb half of montengro and there is close to 300,000 Serbs in that country and should pass with ease because all the places with a Serb majority are 80-100% of the population. lets get this out before this guy destroys everything and so that the good half of montengro rejoins with serbia and then the albanians will probably do the same in their majority point and then djukanovic could be president of Podgorica and another little town of their people.

This team but not the people of Montenegro should be vendetted by every Serb. And though many of the Montenegrins going to share the disgrace will be of Serbian origin Serbia should be satisfied. Cause everything that brings the ruling gang down is in your favor. Russia’s behavior concerning the peoples of the Ukraine and Belorussia is the best sample for the Serbs. Don’t present the monopoly to Đukanovic and keep on talking to your brothers. Be patient and firm as if you fight for Serbia. In fact your problems in Kosovo and Montenegro are parts of the same chain to be torn apart. But in Montenegro we deal with brothers and thus we must be more diplomatic.

I don't know what is funnier/more tragic...

What a truly despicable character Milo is. Not content with stabbing the Serbs in the back he now sends Montengrin troops to fight for America's latest imperialist folly. Remember these troops are not spreading 'democracy' and 'freedom' to Afghanistan. What they are effectively doing is 1) securing the interests (oil, natural resources, military presence) of the US in Afghanistan and 2) propping up the corrupt, puppet regime of Hamid Karzai who doesnt even control his own capital Kabul never mind the whole of Afghanistan and the support of the majority of the Afghan people which he does not.

I hope that these boys return home safely and secondly the Montengrin people recover their sense of identity & integrity and kick this NATO lapdog to touch.

This is what grovelling at the feet of Uncle Sam gets you. You get to send your sons and daughters to be cannon fodder in the US/NATO's colonial wars many miles from home.

Milo and Karzai must be long lost brothers.
