I see Serbs are itching for another fight in Kosova. KSF better arm themselves to the teeth for the eventual Serb attack. It's not the first and not the last time we've been fighting each other. It's just after the next fight I have a prediction: there won't be any signs of Serbs ever living in Kosova.

Are you counting on NATO air support again?
You know you can't with without it.

I'm afraid that Albanian commentators here are right. KFOR is firmly on their side, they work hand in hand. Nothing ever happened in Kosovo that they didn't approve off tacitly.
KFOR, after all, abandoned policy of neutrality by making a decision to take part in implementation of Ahtisaari plan and forming the Kosovo Security Forces.

To all you bullet heads who are commenting, folks NATO said no more BS from KSF no more having armed honor guards without permission they will punish you further. IF the leadership from Pristina wants to keep good relations i am sure they will check that mindset at the door. NATO has spoken :)

sigh... sad how desperately serbs cling to anything remotely possible negative.

the situation with break down exactly like this.

KSF: wee parade
KFOR: dude, cant use the flag...politicians will complain.
KSF: oh... my bad
KFOR: cool.

serbia: wait, that should have been grounds to reverse everything that has happened in the past decade and should have become a possible anchor for us to somehow assert our authority where we have none legally or morally!

KSF: lol
KFOR: lol

BTW, I remember you writing that you like Lokume. If you are ever in Tirana, there is a sweetshop near the train station on the opposite side but to the left (across from the jail). They make the best lokume I have ever tasted. Also,if there, try something similar called Solxhuke, again very tasty.
(Michael R., 8 March 2010 21:07)

This is important strategic information. Sweetshops are among our primary military targets and we are aware, most bakeries in Serbia are being run by Albanians. So far not a single did withstand our attacks but somehow the owners looked pretty happy after the campaign.

As probably told one million times here is the one million first: we separate the politics from the private life completely don't worry - we will show up in Tirana by first opportunity and we know well where Butrint, Apollonia Gjirokaster is. :-)

THANKS, Michael!!!
Finally the answer I need. Wonderful. I mean, not really because of course chicken is much cheaper and easier to get.

@Swiss: that depends on the number of nights I have to sit with all kind of ugly stuff. The invasion is imminent, we not just run out of tea, llokum and other goodies, but as I see, I will need real raki or ouzo. Good luck getting it in Hungary!

I did learn, UNMIK 50 Euro "welcome to Kosovo" is no more: in the spirit of what we all know, KPS is checking do you have a "green card" valid for either SRB or AL. If you do, 50 Euro charge is not enforced. In other words people can use the faster but less scenic way to enter KiM from Nis instead of using Ibarska.

I never paid it to begin with - but who did not enter from North Kosovo did.

1) Can I use chicken liver for "Arnavut Ciğeri" or it has to be lamb 100% ?
2) Do I need to use ouzo/raki for cooking or it's optional?

To the others who are Albanians in the "+10" crowd: feel free to answer 1+2, too if you know it.
I am sick of the only one way we prepare the chicken liver.
It's boring and does not taste well. My wife just cooks it in water. :-(

Other kind of liver is not that easy to get (except the pork, but that's a no-no, I guess).
Lamb liver is probably near impossible to get in Hungary.

Thanks.
(Ataman, 8 March 2010 03:10)

Hi Ataman,

The answer to 1) YES
( You can also use chicken or pork liver, however the taste will change somewhat. Many Albanian Moslems in Albania eat pork, we are not fanatics!)

Answer to 2) NO, must use raki, otherwise taste will not be authentic.

p.s. We Albanians have many delicious and unique dishes. Try getting an Albanian cookbook by Klementina and Ramazan John Hysa titled The Best of Albanian Cooking (Favorite Family Recipes). Try the chicken with walnut sauce and the tave me bamje, both excellent.

BTW, I remember you writing that you like Lokume. If you are ever in Tirana, there is a sweetshop near the train station on the opposite side but to the left (across from the jail). Absolutely understand. I should not reveal you military secrets, but just a hint: it looks like there won't be joint Hungarian-Russian invasion of Kosovo this week, but only because the time is to short.

However, Croatia is a prime target for this long weekend, in particular every chocolate bar owned by Kraš factory from Hungarian border till Istria.

Jason,

I have never heard a single K/Albanian claim victory. I'm sure you are referring to people who say "We" won, and by "We" they mean KLA of course and all countries that supported Kosovo. The highlight of the '99 war was the NATO bombings so I don't see how Albanian textbooks can misinterpret the fact that if it weren't for the NATO bombings, a lot more K/Albanians would have died. (So yeah no Illyrian ghosts here, maybe KLA should have thought of that). In return NATO troops have only been welcomed and never face danger from civilians or insurgents like they do in Iraq and Afghanistan. Like I said mutual interest.

Savior? Why don't you go save people in Rwanda, Somalia, Turkey, Afghanistan, Iraq and other parts of the world where thousands of people die everyday. Nato, US in specific has benefited from the invasion a lot more than people of Kosovo. Name one country in the European continent that would let you build a base/city in the middle of their country? I'm sure that majority of population in Kosovo are conscious of benefit received from NATO occupation, but please stop with this savior b.s. Savior don't do good deeds to benefit from them. That's called mutual interest.
Nevertheless thank you USA!
(BBM, 8 March 2010, 11:54)

Thank you for your honesty... your point is what I have been saying all along. So many Albanians and their supporters think the US acted out of altruism rather than self-interest. I am glad to see someone else realizes this.

As far as being saved goes, KLA was being eliminated so in fact NATO did save Kosovo Albanians - they did NOT earn a victory on their own. I am sure, however, in a few years the Kosovo Albanian textbooks will have mythical stories about how all alone, the KLA called upon its Illyrian warrior spirit to single-handedly beat the entire Yugolsavian army... :)

“KSF is trained under NATO's command, and its mandate is to deal with elementary disasters. The formation is expected to be operational in several years' time.”

And hasn’t NATO stepped up to the plate – dying in Afghanistan and its allies are fleeing the alliance at first chance. My God hasn’t KSF got a good model to work on.
If the Albanians think KSF is an army, then think hard and think again. The US is not stupid to arm Moslems that can very easily turn their weapons on them.
I like the bit about “operational in several years’ time” – gee how long does it take to train these people; last time it was 3 months on how to handle weapons and six months to be proficient. And you guys think this is the start of something new or a new Albanian world order in Kosovo. No boys, they are just repackaging an old idea – a round and round it goes.

No. But there is an other conspiracy theory. Yours truly does monitor sometimes the railway related news and on the Turkish Railway, TCDD web site this did appear:

Just look at the item #14 versus #15. You know, we are real people, with real interest into boring things like travel, "Arnavut Ciğeri", "Rus Salata" and such. And believe or not, I do not have any "enemy picture" because I don't need it. In family we have enough American and Russian passports in the drawer, I am not game for such kindergarten.

The only enemy picture I have are the politicians, regardless what country from.

Can't you guys get of that insanity? My posting had as much political content as the llokum eating contest where Village-Bey is usually the winner. On the other hand I read your posting with a minor shock. That was a lesson for me... it's possible to stuff political content in 100% harmless question.

Now that KFOR has suspended training KSF, we needn't worry that much the Albanians will be capable of "integrating" the north as per the Little Fuhrer's plans. "Priština-based RTK television outlet quoted a KFOR spokesman as saying that "the Kosovo institutions have not honored a deal that members of the KFS guard should not carry weapons during the manifestation".

For this reason, KFOR's command decided to immediately suspend its support and training of KSF, with the developments depending on possible future talks. However, according to its representatives, KFOR has "lost trust" in the organization that was put together after the disbanding of the Kosovo Protection Corps."

And this, my dears, is what "supervised independence" really means .... you are not free to do anything that displeases your Western masters .... they have spoken and their word (not yours) is law ..... ie. you jolly well toe the line, or else ....

Well if KFOR is supposed to keep the peace in UNMIK-Kosovo, and if KSF is disturbing said peace by carrying illegal weapons, I'd say it's time for a good old fashioned KFOR-led initiative to round up all illegal weapons carried by these guys. After all, we can't allow paramilitary forces roaming around the protectorate threatening the fragile multiethnic harmony now can we?

Fine with Serbia if KFOR leaves, Pejoni. The Serbian National Army will then come back into KiM to protect it's citizens and religious monuments. Seems like after all the bombs, lost lives, countless billions, and empty words from all sides, the situation in KiM will go back to square one. Maybe this time the Albanians residing in Serbia's southern province will act differently, without the US propping them up.

If the Albanians think KSF is an army, then think hard and think again. The US is not stupid to arm Moslems that can very easily turn their weapons on them.

This is important strategic information. Sweetshops are among our primary military targets and we are aware, most bakeries in Serbia are being run by Albanians. So far not a single did withstand our attacks but somehow the owners looked pretty happy after the campaign.

I did learn, UNMIK 50 Euro "welcome to Kosovo" is no more: in the spirit of what we all know, KPS is checking do you have a "green card" valid for either SRB or AL. This is just a slap in the wrist. They have to convince Serbia on "neutrality". Actually, this is a prelude to "zero tolerance" when the integration plan unfolds. As of today things gonna get better for Kosovar Serbs in North.

No need to worry. This is an agreement between the KSF and KFOR. Trust me, they agreed beforehand on this issue just to make Serbs believe that this was not permitted by KFOR.

The one who gave the "-1" should answer the follow-up questions:

1) Can I use chicken liver for "Arnavut Ciğeri" or it has to be lamb 100% ?
2) Do I need to use ouzo/raki for cooking or it's optional?

They make the best lokume I have ever tasted. Also,if there, try something similar called Solxhuke, again very tasty.

This is important strategic information. Sweetshops are among our primary military targets and we are aware, most bakeries in Serbia are being run by Albanians. So far not a single did withstand our attacks but somehow the owners looked pretty happy after the campaign.
