"Afghan troop withdrawal signals NATO crisis"

Lord George Robertson, a former British defense secretary, said the planned Canadian pullout of combat troops next year is dangerously premature.

Maybe we may finally see the Dutch and Canadians developing some spine of their own and have the guts to stop being canon fodder for the US colonial designs on Afghanistan. If so, congrats to them!

The US will probably start armtwisting new members Croatia and Albania to send moer troops to replace these withdrawals.

"Rest assured," Robertson warned, "if the Taliban and their allies can defeat the most successful defense alliance in history, why should they stop at Afghanistan? They won't. We all know all that."
Yes I can see them invading London, New York, Paris, Los Angeles on very fast donkeys and camels. The west went into this war with their eyes closed, arrogant and so full of itself after Kosovo thinking “we are the greatest, this is our chance and no one can stop us”. They were not chasing Osama so much as trying to control Afghanistan to bring oil and gas pipelines from the Caspian Sea through to Pakistan; they were fighting an energy war with Russia.
The Soviet Union is gone so who is NATO defending? Unfortunately, NATO is an aggressive alliance that planned to encircle Russia and then China and literally control this planet – Gee I remember another man tried to do that 60 years ago, I wonder what happened to him????
NATO is finished, it’s only a matter of finding an appropriate time to perform the funeral rites.

Otherwise, you would definitely try to stop- wouldn't you?

Correct me if iam wrong Lord
Robertson.Wasn't the basis of going to Afganistan to oust the Taliban for providing a home to Al Qaeda as well as getting rid off OBL?

The present rationale colonial-era nation building has nothing to do with the reasons mentioned above.

The Canadians are doing what every NATO county should be doing. They've realised there was nothing worthy at all with continuing the Afgan adventure.

Afganistan should be left to its own people to sort out.If they decide to revert back to Taliban so be it.

Good on you Canada.
