At that price he must do it again!

Totally ridiculous that they set up this post as an appointee - the lack of proper democracy in the EU is uninspiring.

Notably, voting for the EU parliament is more of a sop than a meaningful democratic gesture.

It is only when we have meaningful personalities for people to vote for that any 'feel' of democracy might creep in.

At the moment the EU is a career bonus for politicians who can't make it elsewhere. The appointee system is a way for other politicians to dispense largess - not exactly first rate democracy at work.

The bank clerk is paid far too much too. DIsgusting amount really.

"he said Van Rompuy had the appearance of a 'low-grade bank clerk' and described Belgium as 'pretty much a non-country'"

Hehe. And even funnier was the comments afterwards when he was asked to apologize. Then he said he "apologized only to the bank clerks for the comparison" :-)

The decision to fine Nigel Farage was correct.

Long live the European Union!

Correct? Wow, what freedoms you have in the EU.

As far as the EU's prosperity, take a gander at this article here and see what you think about George Soros and company who may be undermining the euro.

Kate, parties that the morons considered extremist, are basically being turned into right wing parties simply because they speak to people and the voice of the people is far more powerful than the paper tiger of most MEP's.

The EU Bloc will change in the short to medium term. meaning that you will get control of your own affairs...real freedom...

Enjoy the ride, divine intervention is what knocks these people off track.

The danger is that the only people prepared to speak out and engage with the voters, are often affiliated with extreme parties which have other policies lurking in the wings.

We need proper opposition parties in Europe who will actually listen to their people.
