Yes, all Serb soldiers during the Bosnian war were unarmed 18-year-old kids. Especially the ones in Srebrenica. Just for the record, the muslims bombed themselves in Sarajevo. Some allegedly died. If that's true, serves them right for defending themselves.

jovan r, I'm not sure of the entire charges but the crux of the matter from my memory was that there was a political agreement that the JNA unit could pull out. I have to say that even in brutal wars agreements of this kind are usually respected.

That agreement was broken when the unit was attacked and what needs to be ascertained precisely is Ganic's role in this.

First of all, I applaud the UK on this gesture.
Secondly, the victims will rest truly if the killer (yet to be proved) is caught.

However, I find it troubling to believe that in May of 1992 a whole unit in many trucks was out there throwing roses or spreading cheer. Their mere presence suggests otherwise. The article claims they were on the way back to a military barracks. And our poster below adds: "My I add that these soldiers (18 year old kids) ware unarmed."
( usaSERB, 1 March 2010). First of all, if they were unarmed than why are they called soldiers? Second, article says: several officers and soldiers were ambushed; can someone explain how these 18 year olds became officers at that age?

As you try to make them peaceful and non aggressive you are taking away their manhood and bravery. I just hope they had a chance to defend themselves.

Again, I'm glad he will be brought before justice. Not just him but even anyone in Kosovo, Bosnia, Croatia, and Serbia even of suspected on war crimes should be brought before justice.

My I add that these soldiers (18 year old kids) ware unarmed.

There are some facts that can be checked: see the live news footage of the incident (look for the longest uncut footage). General Kukanjac and the JNA troops from the barracks in Bistrik were in fact armed -- they were leaving with all their weapons.

It would be very much high time.
Ganic was sure the most fanatic and most brutal Bosnian Muslim ideological war crime leader from years 90-s in Bosnia.

Ganic, who lives in Sarajevo, is one of 19 wanted in connection with an alleged attack on a column of the former Yugoslav Peoples' Army in Sarajevo in 1992.
The other 18 are also former officials of Bosnia's wartime government.

One down 18 to go.

My I add that these soldiers (18 year old kids) ware unarmed.

Well its about time - both for men such as Ganic to answer for their actions, and for a Serbian diplomatic victory of this kind.

However, let me comment a little more about the diplomatic victory.
I know my Albanian friends won't appreciate this but I don't see a difference between Ganic and some of the current Kosovo Albanian leadership. If anything some of those leaders have more blood on their hands than Ganic. That is not my point. My point here is that this arrest is political in the sense that London let it happen. We should remember that the support of Bosnia by London, Washington and other European capitals was complete, alongside the complete support of the Bosnian Muslum leadership.

Let me be as clear as crystal; just as yesterday Bosnian Muslum leadership were the favourites so today the Kosovo Albanian leadership are favourites. When London, Washington or whoever is done with you they will spit you out too. This is absolute proof.

Of course that is not necessarily a bad thing if you feel that some of your leaders are criminals, they could be arrested, but it is a primary example of a U turn by the west.

I think that this news probably didn't make one Milo Djukanovic sleep quite so soundly in his bed either.

I have kept quiet about Ganic,s arrest on 26/2/2010 but after reading his denials that he had been arrested and which the Muslim press in Sarajevo believed ,i must say that a real war criminal has at long last been caught. General Rose described this man as a person without pity as trust worthy as a cameleon. D,ont worry Silajdzic, come to London and you are the next fish in the barrel. Moreover shame that Izetbegovic never lived to see himself in the Hague. I am not religeous but allah akbar, god is great.
