Hmm...OK.. So Tell me again why is Serbia holding on to this "black hole"?
(Mirub Jager, 1 March 2010 17:19)

Because this is territory of Republic of Serbia - nevermind are there separatist pseudoauthorities or not.

And this is reality - Serbia will join EU without Kosovo. But if Serbia will join EU without Kosovo - than this region will be real "black hole" and albanian pseudoauthorities from Priština will have very serious problem.

recognition is not a requirement for EU integration of serbia.

final status is not a requirement for EU integration of kosovo.

it is a laugh that serb govt. and media continues to eradicate the difference between eu organizations and regional co-operation... with admittance into the EU.

it will be IMPOSSIBLE for serbia to ever gain EU membership without recognizing kosovo. It will be IMPOSSIBLE. if kosovo is a part of serbia... as serbia deludes itself into insisting, then a state that has no legal authority or control of any kind of its own borders with millions of its population who dont even recognize it but another govt entirely... serbia does not QUALIFY for eu membership.

no, serbia does not have to recognize kosovo to be led by the nose and slowly integrate with civilization... but it WILL recognize kosovo if it wants eventual EU Membership.

Whats there to recognize? Kosovo is not a nation, their own government can pretend all they like, but without US/EU/NATO, kosovo is simply and MOST definitely apart of Serbia, good day ;)

A proof of friendship from a foreign country, again? First Milo's claim that recognition of an illegal country ("Kosova") was done in the best interests of Serbia; news, because until recently and officially it was done in the best interests of Montenegro. He also offered some touchy theory of honest friends behaviour, too sophisticated for my taste. Now Couchner. Because friends speak openly to friends... Neeext!!! And if such friends were tangible goods, Serbia would have enough for export. I, personally, would give such friends away for free, but then, who would take them?

EA, the message from Kouchner may be clear to you, although that is more your wishful thinking, but it is not clear to most objective people. There are several solutions that do not involve recognition, and you know that. So, let's stop the BS, and move froward to real negotiations, and maybe, just maybe, the average Albanian can also profit from getting from under the criminal mafia clans that inhabit Pristina? Peace to all, and God's mercy on the people of Chile, and surrounding area.

Well, Serbia will never recognize an independent Albanian Kosovo. Partitioning the North of KiM is the only answer that I see, and even that would be years away. The reality is, there will be no multi-ethnic society in Kosovo any time soon. It took the US hundreds of years to establish a true multi-ethnicity in its own country, why do they think they can force one in the Balkans. Serbs will never accept to be ruled by Albanians, and vise-versa. So lets stop spending more money, and lining the pockets of worthless Eurocrats like Feith, who does zero, but come up with provocative ideas. And sorry, Albanian posters here, none of Southern Serbia is going to the Greater Albania equation. The West has little appetite left for more conflicts and border changes. Let everyone cut their loses there, and move on. And by the way, Mr. Kouchner, Serbia is in Europe, it is not part of your immoral club, and that is fine with me. Hopefully this club will disintegrate, and people like you will have to dismount your high-horses, and take care of your own businesses.

“But we have never hidden that, because we speak openly with our friends. Serbia, like any other candidate country, must solve its own problems with its neighbors..." Kouchner said.

Well to me that is a clear messege. In diplomacy that MEANS recognise Kosovo/a's independence first before joining EU.

It is like where are work there are "minimum expectations" which I found as a way to manage staff out...I don't agree with it but I have to live with it. I hope you get THE POINT. Serbia's "minimum expectations" would be to recognise Kosovo/a's independence before is allowed in EU CLUB.
