Are you the official spokesperson for KFOR? I would not spit on KFOR if it was on fire let alone trust those liars. Here is something for your edification, let KFOR, XFOR, PFOR, COMKFOR or whoever for try something and you will see your General Bentler’s force run for their lives. When the shooting starts its going to be hard to stop and alas others will join the conflict.

Gen Kather would have no say on KFOR decisions since he has been gone for several years now. Gen Bentler is the COMKFOR now. And KFOR is ready for all eventualities. Including riots like those in 2004. KFOR is status neutral according to policy so we won't take sides. Albanian posters here shouldn't assume we are here to rid Kosovo of the Serbian community for them. We are here to provide a safe and secure environment for ALL in Kosovo.

Winston can you remind me again what the Russians payed for Nis? Not even half the price of the real value. Be a little more consistent next time.

From a Chinese daily newspaper:
Albania has taken in three former Guantanamo prisoners released from the U.S. detention center in Cuba, the interior ministry said Wednesday.
The three men -- Tunisian, Egyptian and Libyan nationals - arrived in Albania on Tuesday, the ministry said in a statement.

Winston,

That already happened in Slovakia and will happen in few more East European countries and I can't exclude Belarus, Serbia or Russia.

From what I understand the conditions for these transfers are pretty tough but fair.

1) The "victims" can take their families (that's the ONLY liberal thing)
2) The "victims" have to agree to GIVE UP their former life style
3) The "victims" have to learn the new language in a forced course. They will be placed under protection of local social workers for a certain period of time and later assigned (not by choice but by recommendation!) to a local job as a humble local.

Basically, out of a Tunisian (whoever) ex-Talib will be made a "Gjon" almost by force, his entire family included and their past completely erased - including their names.

The involved do volunteer and the countries involved can cherry-pick - but once the choice is made, 100% obedience is expected.

Sounds like a somewhat bizarre settlement at first, but it is not.

The countries involved are more (in)famous to be ruled by pretty authoritarian or at least paternalistic governments in the past. We know the bad site of that - but do not forget that obedient and 100% loyal people in these countries had the luxury never worry about their future.

After spending 10 years with Taliban and 10 years on Gitmo to become a humble pedestrian in a low-profile East European country sounds like a terrific carrier. That's what the goal is. After what these people did endure I am sure their new countries will get very loyal and very hard-working citizens.

At first, I was enraged - these people did endure so much, that the world's most wanted citizenship (USA) would sound justified. Compared with that some "funny" citizenship of some funny countries most Americans can't even pronounce sounds pretty horrible.

But it's not that bad. The life in USA is no good for the ones who are basically underdogs and they would have hard time to adopt to the society there. At best they would land up in some ghetto and conserve their status as "underdog". They won't likely to become artists in Hollywood or engineers in the Bay Area.

On the other hand advancing from the "underdog" to "respected citizen" status is not that hard in Slovakia or Albania. The language is a challenge, but so is it in the States. And receiving help from neighbor is more easy. I think now, the Obama administration made a proper choice.

Regarding Albania or Slovakia: good choice, too. Got financial aid and received new most likely very loyal and law-abiding citizen for free. These people got such a lession at Gitmo, all they probably want is to live like everyone else without seeing anyone in uniform.

In addition to the three former detainees, Albania has taken in 11 other former Guantanamo prisoners since 2006.
Do you think that maybe Albania has their noses in America's.....?
It brings a whole new meaning to "Pay to Play".

Don't think so.

With his "neorasist unilateral plan" to eliminate Serbian population from Kosovo he is legitimate and eminent target of Serbia's request for his immediate removal, resignation and expulsion.
(dean SRB, 25 February 2010 18:21)
That request will be honored to the fullest, you think?

well' he must be doing his job well for that, I don't know why the Serb camp here keep saying he isn't,:) or maybe not all Serbs think that way.
