Been there, done that (almost). I drove all over Croatia and Serbia with Russian license frame
(Ataman, 26 February 2010 12:32)

Bit more details on that: true ALMOST. Because just outside of Kosovska Mitrovica at the last gas station where they speak Serbian I usually fill the tank and ask the attendant for the screwdriver to remove that frame.

You know, good neighborly relations are great, but south of Kosovska Mitrovica that frame could mean bad karma (just being paranoid maybe?)

The plate itself is purely all-American, so far so good. Solely some people in Gracanica and the Serbian police unit at the N. Mitrovica checkpoint looked a bit unfriendly at the plate (any idea, why?) - but that issue was resolved in no time.

Ataman,

Most people look at that old map as a curiosity or something historic. Nobody in or outside of Hungary get bothered by seeing it except you.
(Joe, 26 February 2010 01:41)

Put it as a window sticker on your car and drive between Újvidék and Zágráb back and forth and see, do people get bothered or not.

Vorsicht: you may get a very special attention on the both sides of the Serbian/Croatian border.

In any case doing that thing means some bad karma coming to you.

------

A psyciatrist would probably tell that as a Russian you hate competition. You accept just one "Greater" and that is Russia.
(Joe, 26 February 2010 01:41)

Not exactly true, as said many times I have no problem if Greater Croatia and Greater Serbia mark the "zero kilometer stone" in Budapest as their border. It does not need to be Russia.

------

If it doesn't help than put on a sizable Russia flag too (I don't think the police would stop you). After that I think you will feel much better.

Been there, done that (almost). I drove all over Croatia and Serbia with Russian license frame and neither Croatian nor Serbian police did not stop and fine me for that. I did not try the same with the "Great Hungary" map as mentioned - that experiment is reserved for you. :-P

Ataman,

Most people look at that old map as a curiosity or something historic. Nobody in or outside of Hungary get bothered by seeing it except you. You seem to be obsessed by seeing it and also obsessed when it is not on your road for a while. A psyciatrist would probably tell that as a Russian you hate competition. You accept just one "Greater" and that is Russia. Maybe on your turn you should upset those people who upset you so much by putting a big map of Greater Russia (including Finland and Poland) on your car. If it doesn't help than put on a sizable Russia flag too (I don't think the police would stop you). After that I think you will feel much better.

"Opposition Serb Progressive Party (SNS) leader Tomislav Nikolić met in Budapest with opposition Fidesz party leader Viktor Orban."

I drove today (again) on the Rte 10 and had the joy to "enjoy" (again) a large ad with "Great Hungary" map. Serbia was more fortunate than Croatia or Slovakia: two later were erased from the map completely, Serbia and Slovenia only partly.

Tomislav Nikolić should openly ask Viktorka: what is his stance about such maps before the upcoming elections and no BS here, BS there.
