I am a parent and i have two kinds. I am so willing to provide my kids with BEST ever future, but NEVER again future under the wel known regime. I remember very well, what kind of future was that. I would never wish such a future neither to the ones that are not considered my friends. Thank you BUT NO THANK YOU

Whoever is referring to international law in this discussion should wake up (same as Serbia) and recognize that international law (same as normal law) is written and enforced by those who have power. Tadic is not stupid, he knows that Kosovo is lost, but that's the only way to stay in power for him.
Kosovo is a reality, UNSCR 1244 is the past.

Many books such as "The Tragic Death of Yugoslavia" , or "Nationalism in Yugoslavia" and "Yugoslavias Peoples". It's popular to shift blame but you won't get anywhere at the end of the day. If you don't feel like going to ur library, you can find a credible BBC documentary of the break up of Yugoslavia.
(Alban D, 24 February 2010 19:15)

AlbanD,

I can suggest other books that would argue otherwise. I refer to books written by Western academics such as Michael Parenti, Diana Johnstone, Noam Chomsky, and former CIA operative Wes Johnson whose "Balkan Inferno" tells an entirely different story.

Slovenia has recognized Kosovo, that's a fact, why would they require Kosovo to be represented as UNMIK-Kosovo?

President Sejdiu would never accept such a title, maybe if Serbia is also represented as UNMIK-Serbia?

"Germany and France told you point blank that Kosovo is your neighbor when it comes to EU. So, do you want EU or not? Kosova can wait"
Dritan

I guess you didn't head Dacic say that Serbia won't sell Kosovo for EU entry. Funny how Serbia joining the EU is your only hope to gain independece. I guess they don't know the Serbian people very well.

The Swiss

Pahor said that the Kosovo officials will be invited to the conference, and represented in an acceptable way, adding that the Serbian President’s “constructive role” in most regional questions is vital to stability.

Aaachhh, this damned 1244 sticker... yep, this is the reality of a place called kosovo..

And if like dritan says, mickey mouse will stay with 1244 on his back, then real negotiations could finally start but if not, like pejoni suggests, then mickey mouse will go back to his rosy hole!

Winston, I apreciate you trying to justify Serbia's reaction to Kosovo as a reaction to terror but you are mistaken. It is a known fact that Serbs were coerced into believing that Serbs were under attack.

Comment: So, do you want EU or not? Kosova can wait
(Dritan, 24 February 2010 18:49)

Kosovo will wait, as long it is not able for dialog. Kosovo will wait and suffer on poverty, garbage, corruption und crime. Its a shame, you steal your children this chance called "future"

This meeting can be the first step, but the second step is the dialog with the North.

Sejdiu slowly learn what Thaci will never learn.

Dritan

Dear Serbs,
your only problem is that you want to enter EU as soon as possible. This is to break the ice, I don't care if Sejdiu is called Mickey Mouse this time, Germany and France told you point blank that Kosovo is your neighbor when it comes to EU. So, do you want EU or not? Kosova can wait

PRN, your statements are so off the mark, that I am speechless. You cannot possibly believe the stuff you write. There will be no apologizing for anything by the Serbs. For what? For reacting to Albanian terror? Yes, Milosevic went overboard but, he did nothing different than a lot of leaders would have done.

Mirub Jager

I don't understand why the Serb camp is assuming that "acceptable way" has to be acceptable to Serbia only? If Slovenia recognized Kosovo then why would they treat Kosovo any different from Republic of Serbia?

PRN

“Tadić, Sejdiu could meet in March”

I guess the time is ripe for Sejdiu and Tadic meet, open negotiations on Kosovo apology, victims, reparations and exchanging Ambsadors.

Tadic MUST be wise and hit 4 birds with one stone. Otherwise the alternative for is ISOLATION and Russian hell.

Looks like slovenes took Tadic's non-attendance in Zagreb last week to heart. Wonder if 'pseudo-states' 'acting' president has the same option..

"if Kosovo is adequately named UNMIK-Kosovo"

Looks like the table is turning. Time for Kosovo albanian officials to walk out unless they are refered to as an independent country. No stability unless Serbia is present. Now perhaps albanians know who is more important in Balkan affairs.

"Serbia has nothing against the participation of Kosovo at regional meetings if it is in accordance with UN Resolution 1244 and if Kosovo is adequately named UNMIK-Kosovo" - Bingo, as long as there is no game-playing about some independent A_Kosovo, Serbs have no problem with Albanians attending regional meetings. They do live in the Balkans, afterall.

JC

This is a positive step. I commend the regional and European leaders who are promoting dialog and are working together to help negotiate the final status of Kosovo within the bounds of international law.
