Serbia – Macedonia's “best neighbor”

This survey is enough for albanians in Macedonia to start an uprising!

Probably because Serbia is the least vocal in questioning (read as ridiculing) Macedonian history, identity and culture.

they will say what they want when they need something thats it and in all serbian eyes macedonia is greek and not their fake name.

Funny how albanians (PRN) claim that there are 52 percent albanians in Macedonia and only a total of 15,6 percent of the people asked in this survey would marry an albanian.
I guess even albanians want to marry serbs. Thanks guys, we loooove you too!

we are talking about ordinary people here, not politicians.
I am sure both slavo-makedonians and Montenegrins (and many many Bosniaks, croats and even bulgarians) are deeply pro-Serb.
Greece will not recognize Kosovo, but this is part of the game and in no circumstances are Greeks better friends to Serbs than Crnogorci or Makedonci, if we are realistic.

Those two people are so much alike! Good to know that!
Also, a "serbier" slavic-makedonia will mean less problems for Greece as well!!

I have the experience of seeing these ordinary people at work. In the years prior to the breakup of Yugoslavia I watched Macedonians side up with the Croats and many anti Serb groups numerous times. Don’t get me wrong I have no objections who they associate with and that’s their business. I also personally know of a Serb married to a Macedonian and her entire family, and it’s very large, disliked Serbs, in fact this woman’s uncle would attend Ustashi gatherings. However, all that has now changed since Macedonia is independent; now they are very afraid of the Albanians and need help. That’s the reason why they “like” Serbs because they need help.

The only people that helped Serbs in their time of need was Greece and that debt will be difficult to repay. During the greatest sanctions in the 1990s against Serbs it was only Greece that stood by them and they did not have to either, but here is thank you from one grateful Serb.

As far as Bosniaks, croats or Crnogorci, well the only people that I know that like Serbs in those countries are Serbian people. After many years of independence these Balkan countries are failing and these same people now are beginning to look back with fond memories of just how good life was in Yugoslavia. For my money they can go and create another one but they can leave Serbs alone because we are not going to prop them up any more.

I don't know but the last part is straight funny.

And I assume, the men who participated in that questioning would still rather marry the oldest and ugliest hag from Greece, than the most handsome dude from Serbia. No way in FYROM with "alternative" way.

Sorry sj, but I can recall which people stormed the US/HATO HQ in 1999 in protest when the crimes against Serbia started unfolding

Interesting that the rest of the opinions surveyed align with a likley ethnic break up of the sample.

Now strategies people, on how to change the future sample?

Macedonia does not have freinds. This is reflected by the fact that "none of the above" or "undecided" gets more than half the survey votes. So, technically Serbia is in second place, after "nobody".

The composition is somewhere between 30-40%, not over 50%.

You are so right sj. I too remember all the anti Serb demonstrations FYROMs attended in support of Croats and Bosnian Muslims here in Melbourne.
I saw their flags waving amongst Croatian flags and that was enough to make me sick.
I have been to their weddings and engagements as well and have heard with my own ears anti Serb and Greek songs and this was even before the break up of Yugoslavia.
Some FYROMs do like Serbs, but belive me the majority is in the other camp, well here in Australia anyway.
Now that they see how much trouble they are in with Albanians they are sucking up to Serbs because they know from history that Serbs tend to forgive and forget very quickly.
Their arrogance knows no bounds. I also know of a Serbian girl married to a FRYOM and he had the audacity to suggest to her family that they should learn to speak Macedonian.

Siding with Albanians and recognizing Kosovo was just the last nail in the coffin. Why should Serbia go against her proven friend Greece and side with them now?
