"“We would especially like to renew the tradition of admitting Serbian officers to education at Saint-Cyr, whose most famous example from Serbia was (King) Petar I,” Terral said."

Thanks but the Serbian Armed forces are in no need of reform. Since Petar, Serbia has developed a fine and SOVEREIGN cultural and military tradition. We have no need of "training" whether it be by vassals of the EU, or by NATO. Technological progress is not a be-all end-all as is evidenced in Afghanistan, a supposedly "backward" nation by western standards, but nevertheless a nation that is about to hand yet another superpower a momentous defeat. Lastly, using a domestic example, as recently as world war II we saw "primitive" formations of cetniks and partizans hand a vastly technologically and allegedly "tactically" superior army a great defeat. The fact that these guerrillas bogged down hundreds of thousands of german soldiers is not insignificant. Serbia truly is self-sufficient, and sovereign, despite what western leaning lackeys in the Serbian government would have you believe.

Serbia should only adopt those essential elements of EU "membership," while remaining sovereign in most ways.

renewed kosovo talks need to happen, the french know that they also know those talks can not include the kosovo albanians.

serbs understand they will need to give up much of kosovo while the albanians are under the impression they are the "darlings" of the west can be inflexable and act as if serbia doesnt exsist...they couldnt be more wrong!!

the west crossed its fingers and hoped to resovle kosovo on the cheap...not working ..REAL new talks now...

“Both Serbia and Kosovo are offered a European perspective. It is evident that the EU accession cannot be accepted with open issues,” he was quoted as saying, and adding that “this issue should be resolved by Belgrade and Priština".

So even France is calling for status negotiations. How the tide is turning!

Zoran,

I like you fairy tale optimism on negotiations.

Well, you sound like me in my first year of school when I thought that Superman may actually fly unaided by technology. It took me several months convincing from relatives that Superman is a fiction.

You too need convincing from some grown-ups that negotiations about Kosovo status is a fiction, just as negotiations about France's stathood status.

How has Germanys decision to recognize Kosovo changes the situation in Kosovo? There is still no peace and the territory is devided. It will continue to be devided until Serbia says otherwise.
Why is everyone pressuring Serbia to recognize the theft of its territory if it doesn't matter what they think?
If you wont respect the decision of the ICJ then you are giving a green light to RS and North Kosovo + Serb enclaves to break away.

Wow! What a comparison. France and Kosovo! You have nothing in comon. France is a un member Kosovo is not, nor will it ever be. Thank Serbia for that. Serbia will never recognize Kosovo even if it means not joining the EU.

Read what is being said my friends. "It is evident that the EU accession cannot be accepted with open issues". The open issue here is status as not even the EU can agree on that. It doesn't matter what France or Germany think, we are talking about the EU as a whole here.

Also, "this issue should be resolved by Belgrade and Priština". This is obviously calling for negotiations.

So put two and two together and you get status negotiations my friends. It's fairly clear for all to see. Just open your eyes!

B92, here I found some quotes for you.

"France recognized the independence of Kosovo ... it is an irreversible situation,' France's ambassador to Belgrade, Jean Francois Terral, told Tuesday's Vecernje Novosti daily"

"For us, Kosovo is Serbia's neighbour,' German Ambassador Wolfram Maas told the newspaper Press. 'Kosovo cannot return under the wing of Belgrade's authority."

The title for this news has been made for the Serbian audience, appeasing and misleading as well.

The French and German ambassadors said in a very clear language that Kosovo is an independent country and that even the lawsuit, no matter the outcome, will change that. Here another link with the missing (and decisive) parts, which the Serbian moderator here left out:

Shift the word "in" with "to" and you come closer to the truth.

Socialist Yugoslavia stood in the way of NWO €USSR in the 90´s, the only obstacle to total neo-liberal domination of the continent, hence the war and Camp Bondsteel. A 100 % €U-parroting & obediant puppet regime in Belgrade is not enough, of course. They demand the full monty and destruction of the serbian church and culture.

This is just lip service to divert attention from yet another illegal NATO drill: the one intent to "peacefully integrate" the North of Kosovo.

Time goes in loops, keep that in mind as there will be a lot of dancing on NATO's graves... one day.
