The americans thought it would cause albanians to revolt and cause all kinds of troubles and therefore made sure the witnesses to his crimes were paid off or removed in some other way. There is a propaganda war on Serbia. How come Seselj is still in prison, after 3 years, even thought he hasn't been convicted while Ramush was released after a month or two?
But don't worry, the world is slowly but surely learning the truth.

Yes indeed. What a show again but the West is not taking it seriously. It is like the choreographed case of that Serb "jumped" by other Serbs few days ago in Kosovo for propoganda purposes.

One day the Serbs will make a film showing how they mislead the West for all those years. They will show how the police informed him in advance and how successive governments knew about his whereabouts. In European history few people were protected by their own governments as much as Mladic.

Most likely the police asked Mladic in advance to go to his neighbor's house while the theatrical "search" or "show" is going on. Nobody takes such searches seriously anymore.

To me is becoming unbelievable right now..
Can you understand Patrik that hunted is a hunter, actually.. Just imagine the situation that "He" (anyone) has the personal information about single commando there.. Than He's knowing anyone connected to this person- his friends, family members and so on.. Anyone could manipulate that commando using him professionally and that happened huge number of times in the past in probably all of the countries.. Someone can just blackmail such a person to "beep" at the start of the operation (they're usually informed up to few hours before action- 20 minutes most common). Do not ever believe that those guys are characters you watch in the Hollywood movies, at all. And, do not call them cops anymore! Read Wikipedia..., what can I say! I can not even ask you where you come from because there's NO COUNTRY doesn't supply Special Forces and Police specialists with masks AT ALL!! And this was extremely dangerous situation no one would "work out" exposing his FACE (family, friends- his and their LIVES). Read again!

Although the west is generally run by some exceptionally stupid people that are kept well hidden by the “free press”, your spot on. The west does not want to “capture” him. Firstly, he would reveal all their dealings with him and their not so clean involvement in Bosnia – remember Karadzic, well he has single handily destroyed the US negotiating capacity simply by revealing Richard Holdbrooke’s broken promises. To this day Holbrooke is a figure head only and is NEVER involved in any negotiations in Afghanistan – he is a fully paid up party member and Obama had to give him a job.

The second reason, if Mladic was in prison they would find it difficult to arrange a heart attack because they don’t want to create a martyr. So leaving Mladic on the so called run is easier.

Though I appreciate your metaphorical connection to the statement Patrick posted, the implication in the statement was far from clear. If one wishes to communicate, clarity is the key. So as such the statement as it was written is what was read by many here, including myself. If you have been able to glean another interesting form of the statement which you feel is true that is superb, but again the communication has failed. Actually no, I did not mean that. There was nothing to read between the lines about. Police officers were conducting a raid on the home of a wanted person. There is nothing secret about it. I would not suggest that undercover officers show their face in public. However, I do not view this situation as the same. The masks and special forces clothing were pure overkill.
