Even Christ (who is known as a man of compassion) resorted to violence when he drove the money changers from the temple.

As I understand it Mohamed (who while claimed he was a man of compassion) was actually quite sharp with a sword.

So what is so wrong with a little Christian contretemps between friends?

It must have been a funny sight to watch these Serb monks fighting each other in their black robes.hahaha

I just saw the B92 footage, and it funny, but at the same time sad. The church of Serbia is the most politicized church in the whole world. Even most Serbs from Gracanica think so. I saw several of them being interviewed by RTK and they said they were disgusted by the Monks behavior. If it was up to these Monks, Serbia would be an Atheist state like Iran.Local Serb KPS Commander said he didn't intervene because he didn't want to manhandle these "holy man". Shame on them.

That is the reason why Albanian Police have to guard Serb churches and monestaries.
Otherwise Serb monks would kill each other and then blame Albanians as they always do.

Now those are Monks who know how to take care of business.' -Matthew

Thanks Matt, that gave me a good Monday morning chuckle. =)

I was told yesterday that the reason for the conflict is that some people think freemasons have infiltrated the church. It sounds like rumors to me.

such a shame. and even more shameful are comments like this one from "John" ...about kung-fu-fighting and these unrecognised socalled KPS-clowns...

very cheapish, I´d say.

I guess these monks have caught up the behaviour from the muftis in Sandzak. The last couple of years there have been violent incidents amongst two fractions of muslims in Sandzak. However, if they want to be as bad as the muslims they need to start killing eachother.

What did you expect from these peace-loving, non-confrontational serbs?
(KOSOVARi, 14 February 2010 22:09)

I even expect less from the Albanians!!

Don´t point with YOUR finger to others!

I am not even suprised by underhanded comments from our site trolls. I find highly dubious the events surrounding artemije, a thorough investigation is certainly in order to discover the unseen forces behind today's events and if there is truth to these allegations.

I don't know the facts of what happened today in Gracanica and I sure as hell won't get the truth in the news media.

However, I am sure that the confrontation was stirred up by external influences, especially the US Consulate in Pristina.
In Kosovo i Metohija, the Serbian Orthodox Church has been divided into those monks who want to hold on to KiM and those monks who have sold their souls to the US/EU/NATO Consortium.

This has been brewing for years.

I thought peace is a value that belongs exclusively to christianity and hate, grudge and violence to the moslems. That's what us the serboan-orthodox clergy is telling since decades.

The serbian-orthodox church is with the removal from his office of Artemije indirectly showing that will have more moderate stands infront of Kosovo.
