..."According to reports from the UNDP and other international organisations, about 37% of the population in Kosovo lives in poverty -- below the line of 1.42 euros a day -- and over 17% lives in extreme poverty -- below the line of 93 euro cents a day."
"The UNDP says Kosovo has the highest unemployment rate in the Western Balkans -- around 45% of the working-age population is without a job. It also has an extremely young population, with half of its citizens under the age of 25.
"This means that some 30,000 people join the job market every year with little prospect of employment," the UN organisation says."

i hate to interrupt the usual love fest here, but... i see this as an encouraging development. our serb... friends here are always warning us of the unending horrors for the serbs of kosovo/a, the evils of the surrounding populace, etc. clearly if it were really that bad, or NEARly that bad we wouldn't have any serb returnees, no matter how dismal their lives in serbia. so it is progress and a step in the right direction.

whether belgrade is "rewarding" them for this move is quite another question, and not the main point.

all should be welcomed back to kosovo/a, regardless of ethnicity. as long as they follow the law, which is selbstverstaendlich, self-evident.

kosovo/a will continue to progress, despite all of the hatred and nastiness directed towards us. i really don't care what they say or how they say it -- we need to focus on our progress. eyes on the prize! feb. 17th is but weeks away.

ciao!

What a nice treatement from the Kosova authorities. Do they show it on TV in Belgrade? Now this is reality not propoganda. Will there be a flood of Serbs back to Kosova?

And I thought you would be too embarrassed to write another absurd comment.

You don't even give them jobs and you call this looking after their welfare?

Or are you really plotting to get them to sell their apartments to you for a song?

And there are jobs in the paradise of "Kosova" for these people?

Didn't your government advertize "Kosova" as the heaven for the world's "most priviledged minority"? I'm only asking you guys to put your money where your mouths are!

What a lovely way of putting it.It almost sounds pleasant.I think the words you couldnt find as awriter were "genocide" and "ethnically cleansed".
God bless and watch over these poor people.

Meanwhile what are you gonna do when their 2 months rations run out? I didn't read anything about you providing them with jobs. I mean decent jobs of course.

The question is if there is a future in Kosovo for anyone? No jobs, no freedom of movement, no democracy, crime etc. If even Albanians are getting out of Kosovo what future is there for Serbs? Unless Serbs in the north want to experience the same destiny then never ever give in to Feiths demands to integrate with fake and failed Kosovo institutions.

Ya. 16 returned from the thousands upon thousands that fled. And returned after more than 10 years. Great achievement indeed.
