This would funny if it was not so sad.
Now maybe the guy is crazy but maybe its just a simple case of Ilic's corrupt party members at local level sacking this guy's father or somehow preventing him from getting a pension.

I'd expect Ilic to understand because in that kind of situation he thinks that the 'common' man cannot help himself - ie Ilic himself cannot control his negative emotions either.

Probably a personal issue that arose at someone's Slava in Cacak... So yes; Tadic, Djilas & all governments, be they national, regional or local, should step down!

What a joke! Ilic should be happy any camera crews show up to hear what he has to say...

Who is beating who ?
When Silvio Berlusconi was recently attacked on camera in similar circumstances you do not see his body guards trying to beat the mentally unbalanced assailant to death. They should also be prosecuted.

He is bound to be the most recognised person on the street now.
What a stupid move.

As for people laughing about democracy in Serbia, just remember, America has had their share of assassinations and attempted assassinations.
Why don't you laugh at them and their "democracy"?

Violence is unacceptable to law-abiding people, which is why I hate this inhumane act.The man inflicted a punch to Velja and hurted him, and his supporters also acted thuggishly trying to beat the offender black and blue, which is also supposed to be a punishable offence. As for Velja’s first injury, it was on record that he fainted and fell down in his bathroom, nobody punched him as he has stated . The Prime minister and minister of Home Office need not resign because of the incident. I suppose we all remember when Velja kicked the reporter in the stomach and groin at the time he was a minister, and immunity protected him. He also slapped a traffic policeman who stopped him because of a driving offence. Immunity protection was also applied here. He ,more then once, treated and addressed people rudely.

Ilić,

Maybe your attacker was father of this journalist:

By the way, Mr. Ilić, were you strictly punished after the TV-studio incident, as it, too, happened in front of cameras?

When no one else to blame for your problems this is a solution. No more Albanian, Croatians or bosniaks to blame. NATO, EU to big to mess with. Let's fight each other.

Laki, is K_Albania more politically stable? Or do you just want to take your daily jab at Serbia? It's getting really old, Laki. As far as the story is concerned, Ilic is an old school thug, that has no place in a modern democratic society. Maybe the assailant was just voicing voter sentiment? In any case, it's just thug on thug violence.

Laki, one of our politician was sacked because she was beating people in a bar, but don't worry our democracy is stable! A few Kennedy were murdered, so ur conclusion?
Just wear a different pair of glasses, it will maybe help u to have a more stable view...
