The Kosovo Albanian government does not see anything wrong with Serbian Patriarch Irinej’s enthroning at the Patriarchate of Peć, says one of its officials.

"if he is arrested or removed in the middle of the speech," - and jus who is going to do that - you want a blood bath go ahead and arrest him. But for sure the Albanian Muppet's Puppet Masters won't let them do that. However, it would make some really interesting newsreel.

Jason .....
If the Patriarch mentions the story of David and Goliath from Scripture, he will be accused of provocation.
(Roger7, 4 February 2010 14:38)

Sad but true. I have a hunch that he will come and speak his mind though. After all, he will be on his own property and may do so without interference.

Roberto is not Orthodox, and this involves property of the Serbian Orthodox Church, so he should but out and preach about something else... maybe say the Israeli killing of 1300 civilians in the last assualt of Palestinians?

# We know very well that the new Patriarch is clearly trying to stir tensions in Kosova but it i not going to happen. we won't fall for his provocations. We do not really care where he is going to be enthroned as he is already causing a lot of damage to the serbian image and politics. It is only a months since he got his new job and managed to offend almost everybody. Good luck with your new Patriarch Serbia.
(Mr Q, 3 February 2010 22:21)

i agree w you, mr. Q.

on the one hand, it would be nice to allow the ceremony to happen in kosovo/a. on the other hand, you can be absolutely certain he will be very provocative -- that's the nature of the... story. if he is arrested or removed in the middle of the speech, it could get ugly, and would give rise to a huge and predictable reaction from the other side.

also, it would be no good for them to "promise" no provocation, since i promise that their word would be a... non-truth.

so, another lovely act by the other side.

we need to be prepared, then act to prevent trouble. my feeling, personally, is to let him stay up north.

thanks,
roberto

"One provocative word from him..."

Provocative, like, for instance "is", as per famous statement of your not less famous friend: "Depends on the meaning of the word IS " ?
Yeah, IS could be a very provocative, peace threatening, region destabilizing, ethnic cleansing, for genocide colling, WWIII starting IS.
Amen.

He has already been enthroned in the heart of Serbia in Belgrade, the fact that he want to come to Kosovo to be enthronized a second time shows that he want to provoke the majority of the population of Kosovo. In serbia are much more older and much important monastries than in Kosovo. It is a reasonless claim of the serbian church on the territory that dont belong to them.

First, I'm happy to read that Pristina doesn't have a "problem" with Patriarch Irinej being formally crowned at Pec. This is a matter that hardly concerns them, but if they wanted to give some sort of idea that they are the multiethnic people they are, they could always send a delegate of their own.

Secondly however, I not happy to see some of the visceral comments from Albanian posters here. Again, this should hardly concern them, and if they are diasporas (as I suspect), it should concern them less.

“We can say with certainty that the Serbs in Kosovo are tired of being controlled by Belgrade,” the Kosovo minister was also heard saying."

Oh yearh?
Please do feel free to provide us with some evidence of this. Is that why Serbs were flocking to polling stations to vote in your elections?

I cannot believe that Albanians are prepared to lie even when it's so obvious that is is a lie and can be exposed as that so easily.

You can go to YouTube right now, and see for yourself the destruction of serbian churches by Albanian crowds.
(svojgazda, 3 February 2010 17:57)

I just went on Youtube and saw videos of the Serbian riot police and army firing live ammunition on Albanian students in the '81 pro-independence demonstrations in Pristhina which left many dead. Or were you talking about some other video?

We all remember how long it took albanians to take the cross down from monastery.Well it has risen again and it will host new patriarch.
And who cares what pristina thinks-it`s not like they have a choice.

Also the serbian army hide in church and fire from church at albanians women and children.

What ridiculous justification. Where was the Serbian army in March 2004 when 34 monasteries and churches were burnt, 500 Serbian houses burnt with several thousand Serbians ethnically cleansed? The truth is coming out and people are paying attention now.

In its report, ANSA also reminded of the fact that Serb religious sites in Kosovo were the target of attacks in the past, “particularly the Patriarchate of Peć, which is why they are now being guarded by KFOR members”.

Not true! This is Milosevic propaganda. Serb hide guns in churches everywhere in Kosova. Also the serbian army hide in church and fire from church at albanians women and children.

BTW, who gives a damn what Pristina thinks about the new Bishop? He will be on Serbian land - the crooks in Pristina are temporary.
