Oh, "Kosova" as in the prison camp? You see, as Mike mentioned, this is prime breeding ground for Wahhabism. It is full of their target recruits, the poor and uneducated while being financed by Saudi Arabia.

Here is a working link to the faulty one below. Check http://www.bosnia.org.uk/news/news_body.cfm?newsid=2678

I strongly believe religion was/is/will not be Kosovo's problem. The problem lays with Serb community being brainwashed by the regime in Belgrade. They are more influenced by Serbia then Wahabis by Saudi Arabia.

You really believe all this? Strongly too?
Then I might be able to interest you in some housing blocks for sale in the nearby swamp.

These people ate terrorists subverting the laws of the land. As such they are unlawful combatants not having the protection of the Geneva Conventions. THANK YOU AMERICA for giving the world the template in order to deal with this danger.

Mike,

If what you say is true then you're telling us Serbia is a failed State because I'm convinced that there are far more islamic fundamentalists in Sandzak than in Kosovo or even Fyrom...

And these fundamentalists of Sandzak (serbia) don't have the huge obstacle of a fierce pro-americanism among the population as it's the case in Kosovo and among albanians in general...

Mike

pre 14 godina

While I agree that Islam has never had as heavy a historic presence in Kosovo and other parts of Serbia, it is equally careless for some here to infer that such low levels of fundamentalism are indefinite. All it takes is for a small percentage of the population to be brainwashed. And yes, while most Albanians are, if anything, the most secular people in all SE Europe, the money and influence that has entered the Balkans since the early 1990s from Saudi Arabia and other Gulf states has certainly been recognized. The presence of a small, but potentially aggressive, community of Islamic fundamentalists in Bosnia should give one pause to reflect that similar communities have arisen in Macedonia and Serbia(Kosovo). These groups may not have as wide an influence over the population as some would think, but they thrive in failed states and other areas where sovereignty and the rule of law is weak or non-existant. Madrassas function the best in the absence of formal state institutions.

Zoti, I'm talking about KiM, not Albania.

Careful of those Wahhabis my fellow citizens.

(Zoran, 3 February 2010 20:46)

I was talking about Kosova as well as part of ethnic Albania. The article is talking about Wahabism in Serbia. Please stick to the topic.

We Albanians take care of our own problems. Whenever Serbs try to "solve" our problems we find ourselves in bigger problems.

I have been working in Kosovo as part of international community for almost 8 years and it bothers me to see Wahabis on the streets. But, I can tell you with full confidence that Kosovars are least religious people. Thus, making Wahabis stand out even in their smallest number.

I too found the article amusing. I think even Jason can attest to the fact that Wahhabbis are no more an issue in Kosovo than Serbia.
I see more women in traditional muslim dress here in the US in a month than I saw in 3 years in Kosovo.

There's no fundamentalist tradition in Kosovo, it' true, but nor was there in Bosnia until after the war. Wahhabism, having the economic weight of the Saudis behind it, is insidious. Saudis have been doing low key "aid" work in Kosovo since 1999: hopefully their odious message won't find a message with the 60% of the youth there that's ill-educated and has no hope of a job.

Wow Zoran,

What an objective article you have there !!! hahaha it seems neither you nor the pseudo-blogger who wrote that article has ever put foot into Kosovo !!

All democratic countries of the World which of course recognised Kosovo knew and know that there will never be fundamentalism among Kosovar muslims...our religious tolerance has been proven through centuries.
Maybe there may be a brain-washed youngster here or there but surely nothing our security services can't handle quickly as in western countries.

Time hasn't come and will never come when albanian girls stop dressing up sexy...it's so obvious for those who (westerners) have been in Kosovo or are still down there and the trend is obviously towards enhancing this way of life.

In no UN or US or EULEX report has this kind of threat been highlighted...and this for a good reason: Albanians unanimously and fiercely love the US/EU...and 4 or 5 extremists can't change that and we'll take care of them...

But, weirdly, this problem seems to be quite more sensitive in Sandzak....where hundreds, perhaps thousands of them seem to have embraced those manners....may I advise dacic and your MUP to quickly wake up and prevent your wahabit from disturbing Kosovo...
