The KPS has no jurisdiction to make a lawful order or arrest. All such conduct by the KPS should rightfully be resisted by all persons in Kosovo.

Ptoleme - I would hardly call the notion of preserving sovereign boundaries within international law 'romantic'.

Perhaps some people have become so unthinking and cynical that they can't see the wood for the trees.

However you try and shape it: you can't rewrite history; you can't legally redraw the boundaries of another nation; and you can't spin international law.

One of the most ridiculous things I have heard recently was a US official trying to say that Res. 1244 actually supported independence and the UDI.

Squeeze, push and spin... the only way that the UDI will be accepted is through total disregard of international laws and political bullying tactics.

It worked easily in the 90s, but the ICJ cannot be spun and played like the public, media and domestic governments.

"if we were to apply your idea of illegality (hence, aside from international law) Serbia would now be either serving a life sentence (UK) or face the firing squad (by Russia's standards)."

...and albanians, croats and muslims would be no more after their crimes during WW2 and in the 90s. You seem to have a short memory of albanians siding with the nazies and comiting horrible crimes. Not to mention your beloved US of A and their list of atrocity against the native americans, Vietnam, South America, Irak, Afganistan... shall I continue?

@ Ptolome
"...Serbia... (to) face the firing squad (by Russia's standards)"
Than the Kosovo Albanians would praise Russia for showing eternal brotherly love for the peace loving world's youngest democracy, most just multi-ethnic state of "Kosova"

Kate, what a romantic view you have of states, regarding them as immortal entities and humanizing them with such legal anecdotes that most sane individuals link only with criminal law. However, if we were to apply your idea of illegality (hence, aside from international law) Serbia would now be either serving a life sentence (UK) or face the firing squad (by Russia's standards).

Thanks, pss, I'm glad you liked my comment.

I don't dislike anyone. There are angels and devils in every society, and all human beings basically want the same things - food health, security, education and a roof over their heads.

All I am against is the illegal attack on Serbia and the attempt to annex part of that country and hand it to one ethnic group. Especially as the so-called aim of 1999 was to create a 'multi-ethnic society'.

kate, I particularly loved your comment today, in particular 2 parts.
you are a terrible reflection on other Albanians with your blind hate of anything Serbian.

and

Getting your 'direct insights' from a brother of a neighbour's friend's pizza guy's hairdresser's aunt is not the same as being there.
(kate, 2 February 2010 13:40)
The first comment would include 90% of the posters here with the parts Albanian and Serbian interchangeable-including yourself.
The second part becomes gospel if it is an anti-Albanian rumor on here.

"He also said that the group consists of a husband and wife – the parents of one of the three young men arrested."

What a peace-loving family, now they waite their check from MUP, in euro's.

Kosovo-USA - Please get over yourself. Even if you are a man or woman in the KPS or some volunteer provincial nighbourhood watch person - you are a terrible reflection on other Albanians with your blind hate of anything Serbian.

Besides which, I thought you lived in the US?!

The thread you're referring to yesterday was packed full of comments from people, including you, trying to say that shooting guns in the air at celebrations was as much of a 'crime' as actually shooting at another person! Them's comments on the level (and sophistication) of Jamie Shea.

Not that I'm defending that Balkan tradition, but that's exactly what it is throughout the region by all nationalities.

He also said that the group consists of a husband and wife – the parents of one of three young men arrested.

Old news.
No one can hide the truth, even b92 when this incident was first reported.
I have written a detailed coment regarding this incident the other day, but to no avail.
