EULEX is not perhaps behind the strategy, but the strategy has the full support from EULEX, it is beneficial for all who live in northern Mitrovica, the law and order works just as well as throughout Kosova.

Cheers!

Serbia’s demise has been grossly over exaggerated. Ask the Austrians and Germans – they made several attempts but every time ended up with the worst end of the deal.

"'This is not a strategy of the EU, even though we were consulted on the draft along with other partners,' Limdal told the Tanjug news agency on Monday, adding that it is in the interest of EULEX to implement the rule of law and a functioning court system in northern Kosovo."

-- I've got a crazy idea. Instead of trying to extend the weak reach of the rule of law and a dysfunctional court system to areas that are populated by people who want nothing to do with them, how about Pristina work on improving the rule of law and its court system in its own backyard. Trying to sell two shoddy products that get only 1 star on Amazon.com is a poor way to establish a multiethnic state everyone knows will not work. I keep asking: what can Pristina offer that northern Kosovo, integrated as it is with the rest of Serbia, doesn't already enjoy from Belgrade? And without the use of force that they desperately need, I fail to see how gambling for high stakes with other people's money is going to give them a winning hand.

And poor little PRN (Pretty Ridiculous Nationalist). Such an angry kid with nothing to say. Sad really.

ej Karin, who pays your salary? Of course is EU, and 100% sure this is EU strategy. Politics is a dirty bussines but somebody got to do it.

You are right Kosovo-USA but I think the EU is attempting to distance itself from what looks to be a fairly obvious failure. After this fails, the only viable option is negotiations. For some, there are some difficult choices ahead I think.

You had the chance when the Albanian Ghandi, Rugova, was alive and in charge. I'm sure that we wouldn't be here where are now. But you prefered ethnic cleansing, murder and destruction. Now deal with the results for which you are responsible.

In america, we call this talking out of both sides of your mouth. When politicians do this, they always fail. This "strategy" will fail.

1. Serbians in the North will not integrate with the parallel institutions in Pristina.

2. Tadic is to blame for this mess by allowing EULEX to deploy. His policy is an attempt to slowly erode the control we have there but if pushed it will end up destabilising the province.

The Serbians in the North need to protect their freedom at all costs and not give even an inch to EULEX or Pristina.

PRN, thank you for your daily dose of fantasy. As they say, be careful what you wish for. It's a great shame we have so many people here who prefer instability over peace. Tell me something PRN, why do you have so much hatred for Serbia? Do you think this hatred will help the people of the region?

As Ghandi said, an eye for an eye and the whole world goes blind.

PRN - this is typical nationalistic speech. Serbia is only real multiethnic state on the Balkan Peninsula. And You want to back into nationalistic 19th century politics.

And you claim to want peace and prosperity. This is unfortunately the view of most Albanians. To grab land from others and destabilize the region rather than to deal with problems by negotioation. No surprise Albanians have such a bad reputiation accross the world.
If Kosovo can't gain independence what makes you think Sandzak, Vojvodina and Presevo will?

PRN

“EULEX does not recognize or help the so-called parallel structures in Kosovo. This was stated in the joint action on which all 27 member-states of the EU member-states agreed. Strong, fair and multi-ethnic, lawful institutions for all the communities is the only option,” Limdal said.

The more I read these statements the more I realise that the last (if ever) to join the EU will be Serbia.

Rest assure that Vojvodina, Sanjak, and Presevo valley will stand still, they are carefully watching, as further (and final) disintegration of Serbia has no alteranative.
