Lets wait and see Jason.
I can tell you that while you're writing comments in here, changes are happening, like it or not.
But Jason,
I would suggest you to listen to the song "Don't panic" by ColdPlay ;)

I think Feith was told by his superiors to not incite violence. Feith probably briefed them on plans and recieved no support. At the same time, he can be counted to do nothing when the KLA thilth move against the North.

UNE - to get a sense of just how ridiculous your comment is, replace K Serbs with KAs and Pristina with Belgrade.

Really, after years of insisting that you will never accept integration back into Serbia, you now seek to impose this on Serbs. This is the most vile form of double standards; either that or evidence of a complete and total lack of a political culture of compromise amongst KAs.

Really, if you want your independence to become real and meaningful, this your only hope. UN membership in return for the north - your choice. It's not going to happen any other way. Accept that and then move on.

Mr Faith is a great salesman. He'll sale ice to an Eskimo in North Pole. Point in fact is the issue of integrating the north, which is as same as yesterday (designed by Kosovo gov't, to be implemented by EULEX, enforced by KFOR) and still Serbs are apeaced by rhetoric. The moment EULEX was acknowledged by Serb gov't Kosovo and its North were lost. Ask Kostunica.

WHile the serbian posters see a way of saying the north will never get integrated I see the begining of integration. After the Mitrovica people realise that thier best interest is in Prishtina than we will see what will happen

More articles like this! It keeps the trolls away! The trolls had mobilized the other day when there was a story about incorporating the north. Now, however, this David Coperfield story made these same trolls dissapear.
The truth is cryptonite for albanians.

"This has about as much intelligence as offering the Albanians of Presevo a strategy of integration with Belgrade." (me)

-- Oh dear, I seem to have made a heinous error in writing. I meant Pristina. Presevo is already integrated with Belgrade. Silly me.

So reintegration of the north isn't on the cards after all.
Still have nothing to negotiate about then.

Oh, well, lets just make some bold statements and sweep it under the carpet.

"EU special representative in Kosovo Pieter Feith said that the integration of northern Kosovo will be done without imposed solutions."

-- Then it will not be integrated. I fail to see how a region fully and completely integrated with the rest of Serbia would want to join with institutions that are not. This has about as much intelligence as offering the Albanians of Presevo a strategy of integration with Belgrade.

"'“Our intention is to try to offer the citizens of northern Kosovo better living conditions and the best possible public services.' Feith said."

-- Neither are coming from Pristina. Mr. Feith really needs to take a trip up north. KM is a fully functioning city. Is it perfect? No. But it certainly needs nothing Pristina is offering.

"'We are building on experience from the local elections held in the fall in the municipalities south of the Ibar, where we saw great interest from the Serb community for our proposals,' Feith said."

-- Let's not get ahead of ourselves here. First, there's a major difference between north and south of the Ibar where southern enclaves are completely isolated from the rest of Serbia and HAVE to cooperate to some degree. But if only 25% of the Serb population in each area voted, I don't think we can call that "great success". Isolated villages are one thing. He's forgetting larger municipal centers like Gracanica, which seems to prefer operating off the grid than linking up with the capital 5 km away.

"He said that the goal is to strengthen the rule of law, improve social and economic conditions for people who live in the north and form the new municipality of North Mitrovica and give more autonomy to the people who live there."

-- Taking a page directly from the Albanian playbook, why should these people opt for autonomy when they are currently enjoying full independence from Pristina?

What was that among some of our Albanian Armchair Generals about sending KFOR in to crush resistance and impose their own authoritah? Oh well, I guess Bismarck's statement "The Balkans are not worth the healthy bones of a Pomeranian [or US] grenadier" still ring true.

Thank you Mr. Feith for coming to your senses.

Feith should just stop getting KA hopes up. We all know what the consequences of any attempt to impose Pristina's rule on the north.

If the EU really wants to be helpful it should start preparing the ground for serious talks on partition. We all know it makes sense. Just as KAs won't live under Belgrade, K Serbs won't accept to live under Pristina. When the KAs learn to look in the mirror and recognise themselves then the path will be open for a meaningful and lasting settlement.

“Our intention is to try to offer the citizens of northern Kosovo better living conditions and the best possible public services. In this case, this strategy will include other individuals who are on the ground and with whom we will try to reach the citizens of the north,” Feith said

Mr Feith - probably You don't remember, that in North live citizens of Republic of Serbia. The best solution for them is return Republic of Serbia institutions. This should improve their living conditions and the best public services. Pseudointegration with illegal, poor pseudostate should only decrease their situation.

P.S. Mr Feith - don't forget, that for You Resolution 1244 is obligatory. And this resolution speak, that Autonomous Province of Kosovo and Metohija is part of Serbia, and to the province after aggrement must back serbian forces. Mayby You should start speaks about back of serbian border guard to the border crossings and serbian military for cover serbian heritage in the province (Annex 2, point 6 Resolution 1244).
