“Belgrade bypass holding up Russian loan”

Infrastructure Minister Milutin Mrkonjić says that investment plans for the Belgrade bypass “have frozen” talks with Russia concerning a USD 800mn loan.

John, I do not see what is expensive here. If it is not funded by them it would be funded by the western powers at conditions worse for us.

"Russia already approved USD 200mn for the Serbian budget, but according to Mrkonjić, Moscow wants all of the remaining 800mn to be invested in the railways in Serbia, with Russian companies taking part in the jobs."

So, Russia demands what to do with the money including that Russian companies do the job. After the NIS farce not really surprising.

A model example what happens when you are bound to Russia. Russian "Njet" in the Kosovo case gets every day more expensive, and there is even no end at the horizon.
