Austrian police said on Thursday they disbanded a gang smuggling illegal migrants from Kosovo.

BELGRADE -- The investigation regarding the Balkan Warrior international drug smuggling ring case has been expanded to include Darko Šarić and Goran Soković.

Now, with all this boasting of EU countries recognizing Kosovo and their newly minted passports, why would anyone feel the need to be smuggled into Europe? Even if they know their passports aren't worth anything, they could be like a number of other K Albanians who travel to Gracanica and apply for Serbian biometric passports.

Ironically, as Serbian citizens these unfortunates could have travelled to Austria quite legally without paying thousands of euros to gangsters. It makes one wonder whether there is any real value in independence for ordinary Kosovans, or if only Kosovo's mafia elite benefits.

So, these albanians fled from Kosovo after the declaration of independence!
You used to blame the Serbs for fleeing, who is at fault now? You are "free" and in your own minds "independent", why leave? Kosovo has been reduced to being the black hole of Europe.
