You wish! Who will make that happen? The Albanians? Albanians should be happy with the little tiny strip of land they have. No matter how small Serbia gets it will always be bigger than Albania.

hey Mircea!

I was just thinking about your 2018 -- will the EU even be resembling anything like what we know of it today?

I mean, Belgium might well fall apart should the seething tension currently put on the lid between the Flemings and Waloons seep to the surface again. Then the hallowed city of Brussles might find itself in no man's land ....

What about the UK should the Scots decide to take their North Sea oil and bolt? And their Welsh cousins decide to ape them?

And don't assume that Greenland will still be under Copenhagen's thumb by then. Denmark's land and sea territories would then have shrunk by some 99% and she loses her strategic location.

Or the ethnic Russians in Latvia deciding they had enough of Riga?

Not to mention Corsica and the Basque region doing their own UDIs aka "Kosova"?

And oh, before I forget, Moldova and your Romania possibly starting to cast lovers eyes at each other?

etc, etc

What would those incorrigible Serbians think then?

Niall O'Doherty,

I am not albanian. I am Romanian and I am proud to be a citizen of the EU.

You Irish should be thankful that your country has the Euro.

Without the Euro Ireland would have been like Iceland.

Should Serbia rush when answering the EC questionnaire? What do others think?
(Mircea, 22 January 2010 14:15)

Given that energy prices are high and all this EU related materials similarly to works of Lenin and Marx very thick the best would be to use this questionnaire as heating material.

Mircea,
are the questions true or false, or are they multiple choice.
(Another Canadian Serb, 22 January 2010 15:01)

ACS, it had a bit of everything. As well as multiple choice, true and false, there was also match the pictures, colouring with the crayons and a bit of general knowledge thrown in for good measure. The applicants were kindly asked to refrain from dribbling on the paper.

Mircea (real name Mexhid) told me this. He's the inside man on all matters relating to the EU Accession process.

Serbia is behind Montenegro and Iceland which have finished answering the questionnaire and returned it to the European Commission.

B92, it´s getting redicolous with an every-day "soon member" or "any time soon" or a €USSR minister saying this or that to the subject. If this is ment to make a very unpopular undemocratic super state and aggressive serb-hating €U better in the eyes of serbs, im afraid to say that it´s very contra productive. Surely you have not realized this yet which is making it even more redicolous...

It is uncertain whether the Netherlands will endorse the ratification for EU- membership candidacy with Serbia or keep on blocking it. It depends on the Dutch Parliament which is entitled to make decisions what steps to undertake when the foreign policy is concerned, so we will have to await the response of Dutch Parliament . Let us hope we will welcome it.
Djelić’s statement is baffling, for it is well- known that the apprehension of Ratko Mladic is the only way to make sure that our candidacy in the EU membership will be ratified .
