I’m afraid that Milorad Dodik is as silly as a fox, but this may go over your head.
“All serbs can do is bring up a page in history that happened when no croatians today from ages 70 under were even alive for. Its pretty sad”.
This says it all about who and what you are! For your edification it’s called history; you know the things that happen in the past and written in books, but not in Croatian history books, naturally.
Now you tell me when Chetniks work with Ustashi to kill Serbs. However, your Ustashi worked with the communists to kill Croats – read up on a guy called Srecko Rover (lived after WW2 in Melbourne, Australia) who organized the “crizari” to liberate Croatia and you will find that in every operation not one of your “liberators” came back alive. This good example of Croat on Croat. I have many more examples just let me know and I can give you names and dates – I no joking, just let me know.

is dodik stupid or just really stupid.

Mesic's father was partizani, Mesic is as communist as it gets. Thank god he wasnt PM, jesus croatia would be a mess right now.

Serbs seem to make up history when it suites them i think.

All serbs can do is bring up a page in history that happened when no croatians today from ages 70 under were even alive for. Its pretty sad.

Lets not forgot your glorious chetniks worked with us to kill your own people.

I never hear serbs bashing other serbs for killing your own kind.

Croats never did such things to one another, thats the difference

Even in the war in the 90's 1/10 th of the croat army was serbian or croat/serb mix.....

Seems serbia has a big history of its citizens killing eachother.....

Lenard,
i was born and raised in Canada. I didn't know what a Serb was until the recent wars. However, i am of Serbian ethnicity and grew up with many Croation friends.

I even attended Serbo-Croation school. When asked of my ethnicity, i would respond with, why i am Yugoslavian and my Croation friends sould respond with, why i am Croation.

I never thought much about this until the wars of the 1990's.

However, today i respond with, why i am Serbian.

Serbians used to call themselves Yugoslavs because they were forced to live with Croations, Slovenians and Bosniaks.

For some stupid reason my parents raised me as a Yugoslav, meaning of Slavic Heritage.

But, today we all know that Serbians and Croations will never get along and should avoid all contact now and forever.

Lenard, i must assume that you are part Serb, because of your enthusiam to post on B92 with other Serbs, even though you are not Yugoslavian.

I guess it must be true that Croations are of Iranian decent and that is why that don't associate themselves as being SLAVIC, but they do eat, speak and read in SLAVIC.

Lenard in some way you are probably right, but not in the way you mean.
Many Serbs used to call themselves Jugoslav BEFORE the recent war and some continued to call themselves Jugoslav until recently.

Two reasons - because Jugoslavija existed only until the state of Serbia + Crna Gora, until that Solana project was dead. More importantly many Serbs were happy to use the all encompasing term Jugoslav because they were proud of that country (excluding negative political aspects).

As a Bosnian I would have expected you would have understood that. Even more Bosnians as a percentage felt that way than Serbs did. And while we are on the subject Macedonians were also enthusiastic in calling themselves Jugoslav.

In fact I have some (Serb) relatives that used to call themselves Jugoslav but when the recent war started and they were travelling (not easy under sanctions) they told passport control that they were Serbs in a defiant way.

Quite the opposite of what you are saying.

Milorad Dodik does not make wild or random statements because he has a sudden urge to say something. Every move is calculated, timed and cleared with allies. The Serbs initially used military means to ensure its 50% of Bosnia remained in Serbs hands, but now it will not be the sword but the pen that will make the other gains. There is no crashing down of any “glass cathedrals” because you seem to forget that it was only very recently that EU/US envoys held long and detailed discussions with RS and nothing happened there. In fact, the US is getting tired of the Balkans – they thought it would be an easy conquest and everything in the “bag” in two or three years.
As far as Croatia’s military prowess is concerned, I can tell you that no one is concerned about an invasion in Posavina Valley; you would have first to recall the 300 Croatians soldiers from Afghanistan – you need reserves you know.
One thing I do know about the Bosniaks and that is they trust Serbs more than the Croats. As a Bosniak told my father “at least with you Serbs we knew you were our enemies and wore a different uniform, but the Croats fought with us, broke bread and then stabbed us in the back”. The Croats are being cleansed every week from Bosnia and by 2012 no more Croats in Bosnia. No one is going to lift a finger let alone take up arms in Bosnia – it all talk and bravado boys!
For the completely ignorant and for the 20th time please take note that the Dayton Agreement has a clause which allows either of the two entities to hold a plebiscite after 10 years of peace to decide if they wish to leave Bosnia.
I have never known a Serb that was ashamed of his or her heritage even during the 1990s when we painted as evil personified. I have had to use the term Yugoslavian myself simply because people did not know about Serbs, Croats, Slovenes, and Macedonians etc. However, since that time this has not been a problem and I can categorically state that I am not ashamed of my people, nor what they have done – in fact if they did not take up arms they would have disappeared completely. You find the people that still use the term “Yugoslav” tend to be from mixed marriages.
Can you imagine the Croats taking up arms against the world as the Serbs did? Not on your life, they would fold like a deck of cards in a day. In fact I can see the Bosniaks doing that, but not the Croats.
If I was you I would not hold my breath waiting for the day “quasi Srpska crashes down” – you’ll be a long time waiting for that one.

Lenard, I'm in Cleveland, Ohio and I make it known as much as possible that I am SERBIAN. Never have I or any Serb I know said we were Yugoslavian. The thing is, us Serbs have a proud history and we are the last people in Europe that have something to be ashamed of. I can't say the same for croats ( ustase ) or albanians. It's those nations that sided with Nazis while Serbs gave their lives to defend against that!!!!! You could learn something from the great Serbian nation.

Another thing to mention is that RS was only created through the genocide of Croats, Muslims, and other non-Serbs.
(Joan, 21 January 2010 22:55)

Again, with this word "genocide". Do you even know the meaning of this word or are you just throwing it around for sensationalism?
Yes, a lot more Serbs live in RS now than before but where did all these Serbs come from? They all came from places they were ethically cleansed themselves. What, they just appeared from thin air?
If the Muslims and Croats did not ethnically cleanse so many Serbs they would not have found the need to seek refuge in RS and Serbia.
If this is genocide then your lot is just as guilty.
Who lives in Sarajevo now? You got it, mainly Muslims.
Everyone cleansed everyone back then and we have what we do now. Simple.

As people have pointed out. Mesić can threat all he wants. But he can not do a damned thing because Croatia is part of NATO now. That cripples his hands. A Croatian attack will never be tolerated by NATO (unless NATO themselves plan an attack, which I find far fetched).

Dodik recognizes the need for this history lessons: everyone must be reminded on Croatia's Fascist state and their crimes against humanity. Mesic is definitely man whose hart has been poisoned by this infamous 'tradition'. So while politicians will probably know these facts (at least I hope they went to school. right?), ordinary people especially younger generations may not know about it. But more than once I've noticed that when people know about Croatia's fascist past it changes their whole attitude.
So Dodik is totally right to bring this up, he should bring it up repeatedly- hammer it- and not just in case when he gets provoked.
It is a scary and shameful history of his clinging to the ideology of Ustasha movement that Mesic tries to hide.
Dodik also recognizes very well that he doesn't have any of such stains on his biography, that gives him moral advantage.
Smart.

This good example of Croat on Croat. I have many more examples just let me know and I can give you names and dates – I no joking, just let me know.
