Fair comment Lenard.
Bosnian first, Croat second you kept that quiet!
But remember in this instance it was Croatia, not Serbia, threatening to send troops into Bosnia.

But my underlying point is that Bosnia has always been an unfortunate pawn of Serbo-Croat relations.

Joe A

pre 14 godina

It is amazing and shocking that he said this. Not a whisper of this in western media. First of all, Bosnian Serbs as well as Bosnian Croats never wanted an independent Bosnia in the first place. Second, the Bosnian Croats have themselves constructed parallel structures in Bosnia. The Croat muslem federation is a joke.
Threatening to invade another country and to silence the Bosnian Serbs is a cry for war and for war crimes.
The Croats should get off their high horse and face up to their own war past, whether Yugoslav war or WWII.

Lenard

Serbia and Croatia can banter back and forth all they want who is better or worse. True Bosnians are ready they will not be led off to the slater in their thousands anymore. Their families and homes destroyed they are ready to defend their country and lifes. Who ever chalenges them Serbs or Croatians will be in for a very humbling and very rude awakening what a people can do. Rise up to the challenge when they have no choice except survival. They have learned what "good neighbours" they have and are prepared to fight back or live in real peace. Lets hope the Serbs and Croatians get it want the same.

Mesic just said about what Croatia could do, within the provisions of the Dayton Agreement which grants Croatia and Serbia as guarantors of territorial unity of the republic of Bosnia.

So Gajo you're saying that the Serbs left on their own accord? So that means that there is no case for Serbia against Croatia at the World Court? That's the only smart thing you said in that comment.

Dodik wants to finish Milosevic, Karadzic and co's Greater Serbia plan but seperating BiH... Mesic wants to keep it together. So, really, who is the warmonger?

you did not read my whole article did you maybe you should read the whole thing i said they did nothing to the Serbian rebels but THE CROATIANS KILLED INNOCENT OLD PEOPLE AND CHILDREN AND WOMAN thats all they did because the croaian military is weak and the courts will see this because the croatians did nothing until the serbian rebels left from world pressure, then the croats came in to kill the unarmed civilians.

honeymoon between Serbia and Croatia is over. It lasted a good couple of days. I wonder if anybody asked Josipovic what he would do, if RS tried to break away. Maybe this whole thing, Mesic+Tadic, is directed at him.

tadic should take this to court and krajina all Serbs to return and get full autonomy in the Serb region because in fact that is serbian land not croatian land in history just like istra.
(gajo, 20 January 2010 20:59)

Mesic stated he would send his army into another land to crush RS and defend the dayton agreement.
He also supports croatia's genocide suit against Serbia which the main arguement is centered on the JNA "invasion" the home army at the time. Now I be stumped. If Serbs in another land cannot have security from threats of madmen in Croatia what hope is there for Serbs in Croatia to avoid persecution.
Serbs should be granted autonomy under Z4, to have their rights protected or we are just going to go around the merry go round of Balkan death and destruction, if Serbia can be a mature enough nation in these times to grant Vojvodina autonomy why cannot Croatia be pressured to grant Krajina autonomy. Enough is enough from Croatia you are starting to sound like the sick man of the Balkans.
Jeremic your meetings with Bosnian officials and your style would make you an asset in any Govt's cabinet your a gem keep up the good work and send a little attention Krajina way.
All it takes is one veto from an EU country to get Croatia to be humble and accept autonomy for Krajina.

I'll tell you the common man's perception of Croatia in the west. Once the good freedom fighters now the dangerous xenophobes. That is the reality. As for Tadic, he has not put a foot wrong. Think Lenard, what was threatened was military force, by Croatia. That is not welcome by anyone in the international community. Just look at the back tracking and isolation he is left in. Tadic is a good guy, Mesic is one of the leaders, including Serbian, who are responsible for the bloody break up of Yugoslavia.

Fair Enough Mesic. If RS hold a referendum, so should Croats in Bosnia and Albanians in Macedonia follow? Therefore Balkan will be a big mess again and wars will start all over. RS has more rights than Albanians in Macedonia so they should stick to what they already have. Croatians will take care of business as they did in Krajina if RS make such a move.

It is good that Serbia will bring this incident to the UNSC. Unfortunately the US, UK and Germany will downplay it as insignificant joke by a silly old man. However, I feel that the UN ambassador of Croatia should openly appologize to the people in RS and that if in the future Mesic continues to make anti-Serbia and anti-Serb comments that the Croation authorities will take action for he can no longer be protected by his imuninity. I know there is something like freedom of speech, but there is also discrimination based on ethnicithy among many others that in my European constitutions is against the law.

Mesic was completely complicit in the destruction of Yugoslavia. When it was his turn to be Yugoslav president, he made it crystal clear he had absolutely no intention of preserving Yugoslavia or protecting minority rights in Croatia. Now he is at it again. As always, he is nothing more than an old-school populist. If he lived in the Soviet Union, he would have been a Stalinist, in Iraq he'd be a Baathist, in Afghanistan he'd be a Taliban, and in the Balkans he is a war mongering nationalist. The man has absolutely no tact. Joe Arpaio would be proud.

Dear Honorable President Tadić,

This jesture to attack RS by the outgoing Croatian president is even more reason to persue the Genocide Law Suit (encompassing WWII) against Croatia. The audacity to make such remarks and knowing full well of the atrocities committed against the Serbian people on behalf of Croatia in the past century and without any apology or retribution, is unacceptable. Please proceed with the law suit.

Sincerely,
