I like this guy. Serbs should thank him for this. He is actually trying to help you as he is telling you the truth and preventing you from wrongdoing.

It's obviously pretty clear that this move is anti-stability in the region and it would harm the integration process for Serbia, but not yet for Jeremic and Tadic. But it will soon be clear for them too if it hasn't yet.

Well, Mr. Vokovic, many of those 23 countries that recognised 'kosova' are now having second thoughts about their premature decisions.

As an ex-Serb, yourself, you should have more sense and not be so cocky towards Serbia.
I can see the people of Crna Gora rising up against their own 'government's' silly decision to recognise that cesspit of corruption on their eastern border.

Did Montenegrians forgat who will have the power to shut down the gas pipes to most of europe.Power is shifting and montenegro has a lot more to loose in this game.
(lids, 20 January 2010 01:06)

Serbia will have absolute no say as regards S-Stream. Serbia is no more and no less than a transit country...it can watch it but not touch it...it's russian toy and Russian don't know orthodox-slavic brotherhood when it comes to their stuff (why is russian loan still being discussed...months after its announcement??? Serbia thought it will just be given the money so simply...dream on).

U think they would let u jeopardize their commercial ties with whole EU ??? ridiculous...it's EU that has the money, buys their gas and thus feeds them....not bankrupted Serbia !!

If I follow your logic, before you see the gas passing through, Bulgaria may shut it down in Burgas...hahahha

And because 22 of the 27 EU countries recognize Kosovo this is 'good'? What happened to interntional law? This is very sad...
(Ron, 19 January 2010 16:32)

Ron, vague references to international law don't help your argument. You need to be more specific by specifically citing what the law says.

General international law does not deal with declarations of independence.

Particular international law on the matter (i.e. resolution 1244) also requests in practical terms that Serbia renounce a part of its sovereign territory.

So I don't understand your sadness with 22 out of 27 EU members states recognizing Kosovo in accordance with international law.

What about Montenegro's EU future?

We really do not need another intstable mini-state in the EU!

It looks like he is now afraid that the Serbian Govnt will now treat the Montenegrin citizens living in Serbia like any other foreigner, meaning, being registered at the police, having valid working permits, paying insurances, health care, universities, declaring their revenues, how they acquired so many properties etc..., well, one cannot have it all.
Being a foreign citizen in a country has not only advantages but also a lot of obligations!

I understand when the U.S. recognizes 'kosova.' It is - after all - their artificial creation. Geopolitics dictate that each superpower vie for the planet's diminishing resources. A weakened Serbia implies a weakened Russia in the Balkans allowing the Americans access to this strategic region.

I understand when Croatia recognizes 'kosova'. Those poor people have always suffered from an inferiority complex relating to their Orthodox cousins. If it makes them feel like they're "sticking it to the Serbs" so be it. . .enjoy. I expect nothing else.

What I don't understand is Montenegro's recognition of another Albanian state. It's not so much that:
* we're the same people
* we share the same history, religion, culture, language

Nor is it that whenever Albanians destroy OUR church or monastery or rape one of OUR women, they're destroying THEIR church and raping THEIR women.

What I can't comprehend is that they've effectively sold their soul for a cigarette smuggler and the PROSPECT of joining the EU. The prospect. It's not even a guarantee.

And now watch and learn how it is to deal with the Westerners. That 2012 admittance date will be pushed out to 2014. Then 2015. More demands will be placed. More sovereignity will be lost.

In the end, they'll have done the bidding of a colonizing power, selling their religion and cultural for promised riches that will never materialize.

They should've just converted to islam under the Turks. It would have been more understandable back then.

A great prophet is looking at a crystal ball and sees the future of Serbia. The prophet does not see a dungeon in which his pals are jailed because they have been doing dirty jobs, as smuggling cigarettes. Now he poses as a great democrat and teaches a lesson to ‘’primitive’’ Serbs who do not know what a tribal democracy really is. He regrets the time when he enjoyed the welfare of Serbia ,which is no more affordalbe to him and his pals, as free boarding schools, well-paid jobs, their grandfathers and grandmothers having medical care at VMA. The propher is a favourite among his friends. They call him Miš ko, literally translated Mouse-like.

What is so rational about going against the will of the overwhelming majority of Montengrin citizens? Support for Kosovo recognition is minimal. It just demonstrates that the politicians in Montenegro have no spine.

If only people in Serbia would manage to understand it: liberal style post-communist "privatization" already semi-destroyed our country...culturally, morally and financially.

Neo-liberalism and EU "big brother" state surveillance on its citizens will bring our Christian Orthodox fate to the end.

I'm glad that Vukovic is so concerned about Serbia's EU aspirations.
He is clearly reading off a sheet given to him by the US/Germans/UK, and has no mind of his own. Vukovic will be remembered as the minion he is, just doing all he can to keep his boss Milo out of jail.

In case “Harm to Serbia’s EU integrations” is the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth we must understand that it is so in the case of Montenegro's EU integrations, too. Or can anyone claim that Montenegro has good and working relation with its neighbor Serbia?

Mr. Vuković keeps on talking about rationality. It would be better if rationality really described Montenegro's actions than it being just a newfound but misunderstood word in vocabulary. Only in case Montenegro deliberately looks for troublesome relation with Serbia its behavior can be called rational.

“From a purely logical point of view, things have been taking a turn towards irrational,” Vuković concluded.

My dear Vuković, things don't take any turns by themselves. It's people, in this case persons in governments, who are turning things –toward irrational. Is it so damn difficult for people of the Balkans to foresee the results of their actions? Are we talking about naive children or of rational grown-ups?

Tell me that.
