Well, if Ivanovic said so then certainly is the SAFEST thing to do.

BTW History clearly shows that Serbs are strong with the weak, but VERY WEAK with the strong.

PRN, the Albanians set up to play politics in Pristina are weak, so you should rethink what you say. Serbs will the ones to look after Serbs, not the EU/US/Albanians. This troika has already allowed 1/4 million Serbs to be driven from their ancestral land in Kosovo. If the Serbs do not look after themselves, the remaining Serbs would also be eradicated by the Albanians under the watchful eyes of the so-called, International Community.

The irony is that this guy claims he such a staunch supporter of the UNMIK and 1244 and yet both 1244 and UNMIK deem parallel institution set up by Belgrade to be illegal under international law, illegal under 1244. So while going to court to uphold 1244 Serbia itself is raping 1244 on a daily basis.

“EU Special Representative Pieter Feith and the International Civilian Office (ICO) in Priština tend to annul and eliminate UNMIK in Kosovo,” Ivanović said in a statement for the Serbian state broadcaster RTS this Monday morning.

“It makes sense that we will not agree with that, because the UN [presence] is for us a consequence of a Security Council decision and [Resolution]1244 decision, that gives us a right to keep fighting for the preservation of our territorial integrity.”

Although i find your comments informative, and i could probably enjoy it over a cup of coffee with you, you need to realize that 1244 was a way for both the NATO and Serbia to save face.
The best part being, that NATO countries didn't have to sacrifice soldiers on the ground (thank goodness).

1244 in NO WAY was a resolution to allow for UDI.

The overall truth to 1244, is that the West dealt in bad faith, and the only reason Serbian boots haven't secured the existing Serbian borders between Kosovo and Albania, is that Milosevic had weekened the country so much, that the US took advantage, and RENEGED on 1244.
In fact i'm watching it being spun right before my eyes...

The Albanian camp laughs and jokes about 1244, and the placards in Pristina write "1245" as a mockery...
So who's selective version of 1244 do you get to choose?

The Ramboullet accord was included in it even though it was clear as day that Serbia was opposed to it because it clearly foresaw the possibility of an Independent Kosova. And you know what? Even though that was the case both China and Russia voted for it when it was included in 1244. No bad faith here. Bad faith is in the imagination of the Serbs who lack the ability to think that somehow just somehow Albanians can make allies that can come to their help militarily and politically. You guys simply cannot fathom how the West can come to the help of Albanians. I don't know whether that is because of a superiority complex, a twisted image of yourselves and Albanians, brainwashing, or simple naivety. There has been no Reneging. Ignoring the inclusion of Ramboullet accords in 1244 is just self-serving and a way to put your conscience at rest. Another finger pointing tactic by the Serb camp. Fact of the matter is that the Serbs completely ignored the chance that maybe just maybe these western supporters would go all the way and not just stop with the exclusion of Serb forces from Kosova.

--Well at least we can agree that 1244 was written on purpose to be so selective so each side could claim their own selective version. The problem is that somehow you guys are of the belief that your selective version is the only version; that somehow you hold these magical keys that lead you to the correct interpretation of a selective text. Newsflash, there are no magical keys. 1244 was purposely written to be a clusterf..ck just so that everything could be deemed legal, illegal, victories or losses by each of the sides involved in it.
