Serbian stray dogs given homes in EU

An animal protection society from Vienna has secured homes for 25 stray dogs from Loznica, and is ready to find homes for 100 in countries throughout the EU.

Thank god that at least some poor souls found homes. The stray dogs situation in Serbia makes me cry every time i visit...

In England if you want a cat or a dog you go to a pet shop and buy one.

In Serbia, and throughout the Balkans, all you have to do is wait. One will eventually arrive on your doorstep.

Cats and dogs are not wild animals like foxes or wolves. They were not meant to fend for themselves but were originally bred by humans to help us as workmates and companions.

Abandoning these domesticated animals to the streets is not only morally wrong, but given the large numbers of dead cats and dogs found on roads in the former Yugoslavia, it can also be a threat to road safety and public health.
