Calm down guys. The protest is not intended for ambasadors, it is intended for internal public consumption. As far as EU is concerned the spokesperson has already stated that Bogdanovic did not act as citizen of Kosovo, he acted as Serbian official who did not adhere to the procedures of official visit to another country. Of course Kosovo is province for Serbia but it is independent for all those summoned ambasadors. Cvetkovic knows that.

It is no longer Kosova (je) Serbija, what happenes with the 1244 does not apply anymore ? you dont need to be Einstien to understand that Kosova is an indenpendet
(Maximilian, 14 January 2010 15:23)

My friend, 1244 is still valid. Kosovo is a province. Serbia is a state. Provinces are not states. States are not provinces.

Though I explained to you!
Have a nice day. Greetings from the STATE of Holland! Which has provinces by the way. Like Serbia has a province called Kosovo!

"but what i want to know and would like to discuss: how much do these folks make? earn? mucho mullah? the attitude is one thing; the power over the native people quite another. but the profiteering from it all, i just can't get over that.

i'm also interested in hearing more anecdotes about eulex, positive or negative. if it turns out to be like UNMIK then i really will join the chorus that says: eulex out of kosovo/a.

what a shame, since they should be there to help the people, to bring up standards, etc; not to oppress native people and profit from their misery.
roberto

You have very valid points.
Those EULEX advisers definitely have a profit first of all by having well-payed jobs. Many of them would be unemployed otherwise just like those Romanians. And if they will show blatant partiality (like Romanians did years ago when they killed a demonstrator) than the US will most likely be vocal to remove them.

"summoned" they were not summon! he contacted them by phone...

the EU contact group for Kosovo "which include all the countries that have been summoned lol" have supported the Kosovo Government and EULEX to prevent and eradicate all parallel movement in Kosovo.

Roberto, I rarely respond to you, let alone read your posts. I was tricked this time into reading yours because it was not the usual verbose, 1000-word monologue we have come to know from you...

I find it funny that you seem to consider yourself the champion of all things Balkan. It seems rather pathetic that you cast aspersions upon UNMIK and EULEX with no factual basis. The reference to profiteering is particularly silly. The police component here has several mandates, to include mentoring and advising the Kosovo Police (who are severly needing instruction and supervision). There is also the executive department consisting of police who are investigating organized crime, war crimes, corruption, and financial crimes. This is apolitical because criminals are criminals, and the staus of Kosovo is completely irrelevent. Many officers here are from states that do not recognize Kosovo (this includes one of the largest contingents here - Romania). Many others do not support their respective governments' recognition of Kosovo (that would include me).

Your can cry and scream all you want about the mission here, no one cares. It is very funny, however, that your inability to engage in sensible or intelligent discourse leads you to make up ridiculous claims of profiteering and allows you to justify a hypocritical double-standard when it comes to Serbs versus any other ethnic group.

I beg to differ. If they feel that their interests are being touched than they can start it and have NATO finish it. The question is will Serbia be stupid enough to do something silly?

Dont think so
(UNE, 14 January 2010 00:59)

You are mistaking Albania for the US.
Does Albania also have camp Bondsteel in Kosovo?
NATO does not give you a blank cheque to start wars. They have to be approved by them.

Just try it and see where you end up.

Tom O'Donoghue

pre 14 godina

I would advise my Serbian friends not to get too upset over this incident which was nothing more than a pathetic show of strength by an "administration" suffering the classic symptoms of a siege mentality. This arises because two thirds of the world recognise this charade of "independence" for what it is, and the other third have only acted at the behest of the Americans. With every passing day the utterly dysfunctional reality of the so-called state becomes more and more apparent.

Jason

Are you ill mannered son? This person is PERSONA NON GRATA as an OFFICIAL of Serbia. The only reason he was allowed in Kosovo was because he declared he was in a private visit to his family (in the north) which later he was found summoning the Serbs in Strpce (political assembly).

Any person working for an international organization such as yourself would have known this......
(KOSOVARi, 13 January 2010 20:33)

If you had any sense you would know that no one needs approval to cross the boundary into the north. I guess you really not have been up there in a long time... cars with Serbian tags drive right into Kosovo without being stopped or checked. Your claim that Bogdonovic had approval to visit his family is completely false and intellectually dishonest.

i think this was just another cheap provocation, and am a bit surprised at all the strong reactions. perhaps it is true as was speculated yesterday: belgrade is getting increasingly nervous, finally realizing that the icj case won't go their way. as we've said all along.

about jason -- it is easy to take cheap shots; i did yesterday calling him "ugly american." i am sure he is an american, sad to say. why deny that? it's like the other side claiming i'm albanian: "go pray to allah", bla bla. just silly.
as to ethnic origins, don't know/ don't care.

I've already explained in another post below why Bogdanovic was kicked out of Kosovo. He entered Kosovo as a private citizen but was found 40 - 60 mi south trying to hold a political assembly with the illegal parallel institutions.

The Government in Prishtina was kind to let him in even though he neglected the agreements between Beograd - Prishtina - EULEX on entry into Kosovo.

You Albanians are preparing the worlds largest prison for yourselves! This fake stability and money (pledged, but how much has been sent actually) are keeping you locked in a place where there is nothing going on. Albanian refugees are being sent back to Kosovo because of the "stable" situation, LOL The only thing that is stable is lack of employment and a "state" in limbo. You Albanians are trapped! A while ago there was hope in some lousy mines with outdated machinery in a toxic landscape, haven't heard of the boasts over what those riches will do for the new "state". You know why? It is because you know you are trapped. So dependent upon foreigners for your own existence you dare not say anything. Thaci and co. are the only ones reaping millions. You are being used and you know it.
Time is on Serbia's side.

Let me get this right,
The German, British, French, Italian and American ambassadors were summoned because Serbian politician could not hold a political meeting in Kosovo.
What is next, they will summon the same ambassadors because “Serbian Minster for Japan” Serbian politician could not hold political meetings there (Japan).
Honestly, this whining and whinging is becoming a joke.
What happened to the “brave” Serbia that would tell the others what to do???!!!
Goran Bogdanović is a private citizen of Kosovo.
He is not a politician in Kosovo.
Personally I would put him in jail for enticing hatred.
He should consider himself lucky that I am not running politics in Kosovo, honestly.
I know people will come back and say what I would do!!!
Well, there would not be any privileged minorities as it is has been and it is the case in Kosovo.

This is so clearly a move to try and repair the damaged ego of the Pristina govt when it was made so obvious during Tadic's visit that they have no authority at all.

There clearly have to be procedures in place, but it sounds as though this incident was way out of line and just proving a point.

Glad to see that Serbia is making it clear that such behaviour is unacceptable.

If the 'internationals' aren't careful they will start another war by trying to constantly please everyone. Interesting to see how a Serbian minister with his official Serbian GOV car and his beautiful armed (underscore this since those armed ppl that have entered illegally Kosova should have been processed for illegally carrying arms and not leave them free) escort can travel freely in Kosova.

If one believes the Serbian lies Serbs in Kosova are shoot at sight- let alone a Serbian minister with his armed escort...

Now two are the conclusions that one can draw for this:

1. In Kosova the state of law is functioning perfectly;

2. Kosovars (and here I mean above all for the ordinary citizens) are extremely (in my opinion naively) tolerant toward the Serbian GOV reps. which brought to them so much pain just few years ago and are doing ALL they CAN to cause more pain to Kosova.

I mean, can you imagine a Kosovar Minister with his escort going in Serbia what will happen to him??

Do you believe that an ordinary Serb will wait for the Serbian police to act???

Give me a break!

So why should we behave differently towards them???

Why should we play this transvestite game of Serbia:

visiting Kosova for Religious reasons as Tadic - and if you just go 5 years back he has NEVER been in Kosova for Christmas or for ANY other reason, N E V E E R;

or this guy here: I am resident bla bla bla

I would advise my Serbian friends not to get too upset over this incident which was nothing more than a pathetic show of strength by an "administration" suffering the classic symptoms of a siege mentality.

You have very valid points.
Those EULEX advisers definitely have a profit first of all by having well-payed jobs. Many of them would be unemployed otherwise just like those Romanians.

1. In Kosova the state of law is functioning perfectly;

Why should we play this transvestite game of Serbia:

visiting Kosova for Religious reasons as Tadic - and if you just go 5 years back he has NEVER been in Kosova for Christmas or for ANY other reason, N E V E E R;

or this guy here: I am resident bla bla bla

We know why you are smuggling to Kosova we know which are your intentions.

Serbia is perfectly ABLE and WILING to vanish the existence of Kosova just as many other states in middle east for Israel.

Would Israel allow to an Iranian minister visiting Gaza or West bank???

NO. So why Kosova should behave differently???

as to ethnic origins, don't know/ don't care.

but what i want to know and would like to discuss: how much do these folks make? earn? mucho mullah? the attitude is one thing; the power over the native people quite another. but the profiteering from it all, i just can't get over that.

i'm also interested in hearing more anecdotes about eulex, positive or negative. if it turns out to be like UNMIK then i really will join the chorus that says: eulex out of kosovo/a.

what a shame, since they should be there to help the people, to bring up standards, etc; not to oppress native people and profit from their misery.

seriously, if anyone knows re the $$ lemme know. thanx!

ciao, roberto/ frisco

He is a resident of Kosovo and cannot be denied access. Why don't you then deport any Serb who doesn't support your politcal view? In a democracy you are allowed to hold political rallies and yes organise them.
(Peggy, 13 January 2010 23:08)

I've already explained in another post below why Bogdanovic was kicked out of Kosovo. He entered Kosovo as a private citizen but was found 40 - 60 mi south trying to hold a political assembly with the illegal parallel institutions.

The Government in Prishtina was kind to let him in even though he neglected the agreements between Beograd - Prishtina - EULEX on entry into Kosovo.

Ben, my friend,

Kosovo is a PROVINCE. Not a state. You seem to forget that all the time!
(Ron, 13 January 2010 23:04)

Again who throw him out KOSOVO Police force.
never heard of a province having its own police force and what makes it better is that bnever heard of a minister being escorted to the border between the province and the state..

SLAP in the face of Belgrade.

Did you get that straight from the Albanian president?

Albanian army cannot move without NATO approval. When are you going to understand that?
(Peggy, 13 January 2010 23:16)

I beg to differ. If they feel that their interests are being touched than they can start it and have NATO finish it. The question is will Serbia be stupid enough to do something silly?

Dont think so

Stupid move by K-albos. Russia and China will condemn the west at the Security Council meeting on Kosovo. Every incident that they can hang on the west gets Iran closer to the bomb. Nice job.

uli,

Such arrogance is dangerous. Especially when talking about military actions while standing behind someone strong.

Saddam Hussain thought the same thing when he was backed by the USA...until they bombed his country back to the stone age and hanged him on live television.

Serbia is not good enough whiners or they would have others (NATO) fight its battles for them while they hide in the woods. Albanians are masters at that. I guess you are good at something after all!

Albania doesn't even have food to eat much less an army worth mentioning. A country that is asking k-albanians and Moldova for help is worse of than Somalia and Afganistan. You wouldn't even be able to conquer my back yard.

Does Albania also have camp Bondsteel in Kosovo?
NATO does not give you a blank cheque to start wars. They have to be approved by them.

Just try it and see where you end up.

Krasniq't

"summoned" they were not summon! he contacted them by phone...

the EU contact group for Kosovo "which include all the countries that have been summoned lol" have supported the Kosovo Government and EULEX to prevent and eradicate all parallel movement in Kosovo.
