Are you jelouse because someone is taking your "friend" away from you?

"He said that Croatian citizens have unrealistic expectation for the suit, and that “when there are big expectations, there are also big disappointments”.
=====================

I wonder who gave them these big expectations. I'll bet that an average Croat doesn't know the truth about his side and thier crimes against the Serbs.

No wonder they think they have a chance of winning. They don't even know how guilty they are.
Like I said before, the new president will have to mop up after Mesic big time.

On the surface he seems like someone sensible. This can only benefit both countries.

My goodness you sound worried Kosova-USA. Don't be, Croatian support for independent Kosovo in the long run won't matter much. Unless you are Serbophobic that is - ie that it is more important to you that Serbia has problems than it is that Kosovo progresses.

It's still too early to judge, but I'm liking Josipovic more and more.

“I do not want to be the president that will create illusions and say what the people want to hear”

This guy is unbelievable! I want him for my president.

For once I’m feeling pretty positive about the situation.

Now, I can say the Croatian government did assist with rebuilding my brother in laws house and gave him a little pocket change to buy a fridge and stuff. So, I do think that if paramilitaries from Serbia proper destroyed Croatian homes it would be proper to help out with rebuilding some of those. Maybe some kind of joint student peace core type program where we can all help build homes together.

Now, if only we could get our Churches in Krajina rebuilt, those are still all destroyed. The strict measures for obtaining Croatian citizenship need to be abolished as well, they are rather draconian. My sister in law can not visit her village on the other side of the river more than a couple days (something like that) a year or she’ll have to start all over on getting her citizenship. Clearly this is designed only to make it hard on the wives of those cleansed from Krajina who have returned.

Out of curiosity does anyone know what the “big expectations” on the part of the Croatians was? Big piles of money or something?

Josipovic could partner well with Tadic and his main goal that is a quick Eu entry will be easy if he soften his stance regarding all the "old" quarrel..
The message from Brussels is quite clear .. "go for the future and forget and forgive the past"...

If Croation newly elected President decides to invite all Presidents of this region, than what?
Will Mr. Tadic still attend the inaguration ceremony?

If the noises coming from Josipovic are to be believed this is positive and Tadic may have finally found himself a partner with similar values on the regional stage.

We have many issues to resolve, above all the status / problems of Croatian Serbs but also Serbian business in Croatia. I'm sure that the Croatians have their interests too - lets co-operate for our joint benefit.
