In Strpce town there are almost no Albanians. So, who needs their opinion on this Serbian land?
(Lazar, 13 January 2010 18:04)

1 in 3 residence is a Kosovar citizen of Albanian ethnicity.

Look up the 2001 census/estimates.

A region of 15,000 people gets two local governments? I don't know whether to call Strpce an uber-democracy or an exercise in futility.

Well in my opinion the government that wins the electorate will be the government that provides the most for its constituents. If either one is little more than a tool of Belgrade/Pristina, we'll sadly see two corrupt governments instead of just one.

"America was discover by Colombus with funds from King of Spain. Spain should own America." (miri)

-- Well that's up for interpretation. Columbus discovered the "New World", but sadly, we in the United States must resign ourselves to having our country founded by Britain. A shame too, since I prefer Spanish food to British cuisine.

"On the other side, the fact is that the Republic of Serbia built this building and it is owned by Serbia"

Right! America was discover by Colombus with funds from King of Spain. Spain should own America.

The parallel structures loyal to the KLA government can find their own building to use. I don’t see any reason for them to be so provocative about the whole situation.

It's time to kick these clowns out. Bratislav Nikolić is the mayor, the end. The elections organized by the Government of Kosovo are recognized by everyone (EU, UN, EULEX) whereas the illegal elections organized by Beograd in May are not recognized by anyone except Serbia.
(KOSOVARi, 13 January 2010 10:29)
Maybe first we must kick off those clowns from Priština, who called themselves as government of "independent" Kosovo??

I don't see any albanian taking part in such negotiations. So negotiate with your self I guess. UN,EU and the western countrys will not support new negotiations on the status due to the status hase been resolved and there is no way you can make albanian leaders to take part.

Demi, your supposed "independence" is controlled by those who recognise it. They are the ones bankrolling your failed state and they are the ones currently negotiating status on your behalf. When the time comes, they will film your leaders entering a room and they will be presented with some documents to sign. Then the path to peace and prosperity will be open.

Everyone has agreed the status quo is not sustainable. It needs to be broken and that's what will happen. Ethnic Albanian utlra nationalists will eat humble pie.

I am surprised that peace and prosperity is met with such resistence.

I suspect this issue will be resolved as part of status negotiations scheduled in a few months.Zoran

And who scheduled this negotiations and who will take part??

I think you will find that the elections organised by Belgrade later on in the year will have the weight of far more legitimacy attached to it since Serbs in Kosmet owe their allegiance to Belgrade and to no one else. Also they will get a bigger turn out than the sham ones organised last November.

I think you will also find that the EU does not recognise Pristina's UDD and EULEX is status neutral. Neither does the UN for that matter. So nul points for you.

Another point i would liek to make is that nothing infuriates Serbs more than having Albanian irridentist hypernationalists like you speaking on behalf of them.

Strpce like Gracanica and the North is gone from Pristina's authority and is slowly coming under Belgrade's influence. Live with it.

Zoran

Nikolić said that he has “no intention or mandate for abolishing the institutions financed by Belgrade”, but he expects “reconciliation”.

I suspect this issue will be resolved as part of status negotiations scheduled in a few months. I can see some kind of agreement where ethnic Albanians accept Serbian rule over these enclaves while Serbians co-operate with the ethnic Albanian entity in Pristina. New elections will be called and there will be one local government. The parallel structures loyal to Pristina will no longer be required.

'If something is to be formed in Štrpce, and formed by force and repression, I don’t know who needs that here and where that will lead,” [Mihajlovic] said.'

Well, if democratic elections are force and repression, we need to redefine democracy.
