And they don't mind them at all but God forbid just 200 Europeans (10 X less) make refuge claims!
(Canadian, 12 January 2010 20:09)

There are few basic rules, good to keep in mind for these 200 "European". I am sure, they do not do - and Canadians being utterly "politically correct" now have the challenge how to solve that mess.

Having the refugee program "two-tired" helps IMO a lot. There is a case of alleged ethnic issue in Hungary, Slovakia, Romania, Slovenia but these countries are officially classified as "OK more-less". So who comes from Hungary or Slovenia and claims to be a refugee - they would have the burden to prove their hardship beyond reasonable doubt. If not, they still could be admitted - but no free housing and no free money.

On the other hand if someone is from Nigeria and shows in the local newspapers that she was sentenced in absence to death because of extramarital sexual relationship - than there you go, no need to prove much else (that was actually a true case for a female Nigerian journalist. She of course got the best asylum status instantly and it was well-justified).

Canada accepts refugee claims from over 2000 people every month from Iran, Pakistan and Syria. And they don't mind them at all but God forbid just 200 Europeans (10 X less) make refuge claims!

Yes,but based on my own experience those 2000 will not cause as much trouble as these 200 "europeans".the latter ones threatened me 3 times during the last year telling me that
i would end up like Cozma http://central.blogactiv.eu/2009/02/11/the-cozma-murder-case-a-new-form-of-ethnic-tension-in-central-europe/ .Additionally my 73 year old mother was 4 times rtobbed by those honorable gentlemen within 1 year and a half. Not to forget about Mike my black american friend a security person of American Ambassy in Budapest with whom I usually watch the NFL matches on Sunday and who still has a big scratch on his forearm because he refused to give some teens of roma origin cigarettes(simply he as a true sportsman does not smoke and if he had not been a former collage wide reciever with strong muscular forearm the trouble could have been bigger). So to certain degree I understand canadian authorities although I plan to visit Canada in the near future and appliing for visa is additional nuisance for a lazy person like me.

Yes, it's on-and-off with Canada regarding visas since at least a decade. The problem is the
generous Canadian refugee program.

But since visas aren't necessary for the States and everyone is free to move around Europe - why precisely Canada? Maybe because their refugee program is more attractive?

If someone is being suspected as "economy migrant" - do not give him free housing and free money. That works wonders!

On the other hand, cutting visas just because of prosecution is a hypocrisy. Who knows, maybe there indeed is a mass prosecution and brutal abuse in Hungary? If that's the case, these people need urgent help.

That is to be decided by judges in courts and the Canadian Embassy as well as Amnesty International is a good source of information: are these cases simply bogus and just to get free money or it's a genocide?

And if it's a genocide, why precisely Canada is chosen? It's easier to immigrate to South America. If the life is in danger - than why not live in some peaceful, easygoing backwater there? Just because Canadian refugee program is the most generous? True, but than the answer is easy: give refugee sponsorships only to obvious cases which do qualify without doubt. Others won't get free money. That works - and no need to boss around with visas "regular" tourists/visitors or businesspeople.
