sj,
After the wars in the 90s Serbia was described as the following by the USA/EU.....
Killers, Mass murderers, aggressors, inhumane, rapists, etc (nothing good). Serbia was at fault for everything! Croatians, Albanians, Bosniaks, were innocent angels. Is that an accurate perception? No, but that is what Serbia's perception was by the EU/USA and their citizens.
You have to give Tadic some credit for some of the encouraging signs and deals in Serbia. To say it’s just "capitalist practicality" is not fair. What would be the worst thing to happen after apologizing for Srebrenica? Serbia’s ego would take a hit? Would it show our neighbors that we are weaker or stronger than they are? I say stronger, by moving forward and letting the past R.I.P.
"I’ll be blunt, if it was not for the “war mongers” Serbia would be exactly what the US/Germans had planned – a small region around Belgrade and nothing else."
What land did your war mongers annex? It already is a small region around Belgrade. Serbia lost Kosovo, Montenegro, RSK, at the cost of thousands of lives and property before Tadic. Its not all Serbia's fault, but the war mongers from Serbia had a lot to do with it.
My point is if Seslej were to become president like a couple posters are predicting.... a lot of the stero types would come back. The west associates Seselj with the recent wars. It would almost look like the Serbian people want to relive the past. The west would ask... they elected that War criminal? Why? Do they want to start another war?

"who is running Pristina and Zagreb since war, but even so, west is supporting them. I guess, rules for Serbia are always "special".
Well, Mesic is finally out and Josipovic is similar to Tadic and will benefit the region. Pristina will have a "nationalist leader" for many years since they do not have true independence and need support from the people. They use the Kosovo independence as an excuse to their real problems. Thats a good cover up so the K-Albanians don't complain about the economy, jobs, health, etc. However, if Kosovo doesn't improve in 50 to 60 years then regardless who is running that country there will be constant govt revolutions, Albanians vs. Albanians.
