In the name of Justice and of ALL the Serbs, Jews,Roma and others that have perished in Croatia's Concentration camps, and in the name of healing, lasting peace and a fresh new beginning--- nothing should be dropped!

Croatia has no grounds to sue Serbia for alleged "genocide", but periodically uses this "threat" to keep "our" politicians in check. They know that the current Serbian government would rather forget about the genocide of Serbs in the former SFRJ and NDH for obvious reasons involving the KPJ.

This government needs to protect the interests of the Serbian people by proceeding with a law suit against Croatia regardless of whether or not Croatia decides to withdrawl it's suit against Serbia. Anything less from "our" government would be cowardly and should reflect in the next elections.

I have faith that the government will keep in mind the some 1.2 million Serbs exterminated in the NDH and the some quarter million Serbs uprooted in Croatia in the '90's.

'This would be the sensible course of action for both sides and is, in fact, nothing more than normal bilateral relations. The ICJ cases benefit no one except already bloated lawyers.
(Dave, 11 January 2010 14:14)'

And it would allow the one who did it first to play "the regional leader."

Barely 24 hours into his election and Josipovic is showing sensible pragmatism towards Serbia. Good for him. I do hope both lawsuits are dropped and bilateral relations improve after the disastrous bumblings of Mesic.

no, thanks, contrary to imaginary genocides on croatians, the worst genocide in europe since ww2 really happend, against the serbs.

even the occupation of this part of krajina continues.

and - besides - with such bright lights as tudjman and mesic, and their confessions even on tv, i don´t see a reason for not going to court.

neither croatia nor westerners should be too worried about the court costs on serbias side.

it´s - as always - none of your business ...

“did not see a reason to continue with the genocide lawsuit against Serbia if Belgrade was willing to negotiate about the missing persons, war crimes trials and return of cultural treasures which had disappeared during the war.“
--
Wow, let the negotiations begin. We can talk about that if you open the way for all refugees (bar any war criminals) to return and you apologise for events during WWII.

We could be heading somewhere now.

He wants to dismiss it because he knows the case is bogus to begin with. It is like the Germans accusing the Jews of genocide.
The reality on the ground is, there are almost no Serbs left in Croatia, an entire people wiped out. There is a word for that, Genocide. Croatia is guilty of genocide and they know it, from Jasenovac to Operation Storm.
Serbia should not drop their suit, that would be an insult to the victims of this genocide, and to truth and justice.

NO. I say keep it going. Since croatia is guilty of ethnic cleansing (= genocide), let them reap what they sow. The stupidity of their racist politicians (= mesic) gave Serbia the perfect opportunity to right the atrocities committed against the Serbs in croatia. If Serbia had started the lawsuit first, the western media (= western governments) would have come down hard on Serbia. This countersuit is perfect.

Dave, i disagree. Principle must come before expedience. Serbia should pursue Croatia through the courts until Serb property is returned to the rightful owners. Then we can have closure.
