RS will become independent overtime,if you look at the constitution Serbs are a consttutional people in Bosnia and therefore have the sovereign right to decide on their own fate, just as the Croats in Hercegovina have.
Who has the right to tell a people that live 2.000 years on its soil to ack its bag and go somewhere else?
Didn`t that do Hitler,too?
Of course this right is indicriminatorely surpressed by the Western powers who are afraid of democracy and independence for the Serbian nation.
The Serbian nation in Bosnia and Croatia was severel times attacked and tried to be expelled and everytime they fought to defend themselves just to live on their ancestral soil.
You have to say now, enough is enough,we don`t want to live together with djihadist fanatics like Silajdzic or Ceric who openly stated that "Bosnia should become for us Muslims a national state where minimum 95% of the population should be Muslims(Ceric)".
If that isn`t a strong wish for perpetrating genocide on Croats and Serbs in "bosnia",I don`t know what is.

Dear world, you cannot hold down democracy and the will of the people forever!
Wake up!

PS:This doesn`t apply to Kosovo because kosovo is part of Serbia and the Albanian Muslims waned to take over by burning down churches and massacring peaceful priests and nuns.

Well, I do connect Kosovo and RS. And more people should do that...

(Ron, 9 January 2010 16:41)

Thats correct Ron,
Autonomy is the best guarentee and is sufficient enough to preserve the Serbian identity and rights in Bosnia which is also why I call for autonomy for Krajina Serbs as well. I also see the suffering and mistreatment of Croatians in Bosnia who do not have this protection which further validates why RS is so important to Tadic and the average Serb.

Visegrad, Zvornik, Prijedor, Bijeljina and all the other cleansed towns... Not a lot to celebrate about the founding of RS
(Andy UK, 9 January 2010 23:25)

Yet what about ethnicly pure Sarajevo city of 400,000 only 7,000 Serbs have remained, compared to 160,000 before the 1992-1995 civil war. The Croatian presence has also been halved.Thats just one of many cities in the federation.

Mr.Tadic wants nothing but to convince himself on something he doesn’t believe truly. As far as Bosnia is concerned, I think that neither Dodik nor any one else is able to proclaim anything else but the current status of RS. There are few reasons that confirm this; Let us recall the last war. If you remember Bosnian Serbian camp with tremendous and unreserved support by Serbia were not able for many years to conquer Bosnia, in other side they capitulated only after the first NATO attack. That’s why I don’t simply understand Dodik’s self- praising and Tadic’s behavior and declarations such as Serbia is a key of stability and other non senses, when the memories are so fresh about Serbia’s deeds and its intentions during the 90’s. Tadic and Co must act right now sincerely towards filling the gaps afflicted in the past exactly by Serbia, and leaving aside demagogy.

How long do you think the EU and the US will have the strength to patch together Bosnia agains the will of its people? Russia is gaining ground in the Balkans and the future belongs to them not the bankrupt US. Bosnia is Serbian land, just like Kosovo and parts of Croatia. RS will be independent. The current Serbian leaders are slowley making sure of that. Now that the croats want out to there is no way back. The EU and US broke Yugoslavia appart, now its time to finish the job by eliminating Bosnia and creating a super Serbia.

the people who live there serbs/croats/bosnians

the diffrence is that when the turks came they introduced islam (back than everyone was orthodox christian meaning serb!!!)
Tito introduced the muslim ethnicity but only serb/croat muslims were nameing themselves muslim (albanians/turks and others did not) tito was anti serb and made them smaller and weaker by introducing new ethnicities muslim/montenegrin
it was all a stupid war made by bad politics

Ooh Roberto yet another turgid incoherent presentation authoured by you.
Well while in Sarajevo did you manage to convince the now almost ethnicly pure Muslim city to start a mad fervent search for that convicted war criminal Branimir Glavas? You know the one where a Croatian extradition request has been denied by Bosnian courts in a fix worthy of the utmost condemmnation or was that too hard and we decided it was easier to yell Srebrenica genocide.

The strategy began in late 1998 when "a huge CIA mission (got) underway in Kosovo." President Miloševic had allowed the Kosovo Diplomatic Observer Mission to enter Kosovo to monitor the situation in the province. This ad hoc group was immediately stuffed with British and American intelligence agents and special forces – men from the CIA, US naval intelligence, the British SAS and something called "14th intelligence," a body within the British army which operates side by side with the SAS "to provide what is known as ‘deep surveillance’." The immediate purpose of this operation was "Intelligence Preparation of Battlefield" – a modern version of what the Duke of Wellington used to do, riding up and down the battlefield to get the lie of the land before engaging the enemy. So as Marshall puts it, "Officially, the KDOM was run by the Organisation for Security and Cooperation in Europe … unofficially, the CIA ran (it) … The organisation was just packed with them … It was a CIA front." Many of the officers in fact worked for another CIA front, DynCorp, the Virginia-based company which employs mainly "members of US military elite units, or the CIA," as Marshall says. They used the KDOM, which later became the Kosovo Verification Mission, for espionage. Instead of doing the monitoring tasks assigned to them, officers would go off and use their global positioning devices to locate and identify targets which would be later bombed by Nato. Quite how the Yugoslavs could allow 2,000 highly trained secret service agents to roam around their territory is difficult to understand, especially since, as Marshall shows, they knew perfectly well what was going on.

HB,

I'm sorry but you are who? Asides from clicking and typing away you unfortunately don't have a say on what goes in BiH. As for Serbs of BiH they are indigenous to the region, so they don't need to pack up and leave - they've been there for centuries. As for the RS separating, well thats just logic and common sense that dictates - they will, its just a matter of when. In ending, they will be recognized by a few in the beginning, but ultimately will gain independence - with or without the EU and US, as Russia will back them (I'm sure that was clearly indicated to Dodik as well on Medvedevs trip to Belgrade awhile back).

HB

pre 14 godina

RS will never be independent from BiH as everybody knows the E.U and the U.S wont allow it. What they say go's. Russia will stay out of this one as it has it's own problems in the Caucauses. The Serbs can't just create their own state when they feel like it. They tried that in Krajina and it failed. BiH is no different, what in the world gives you the right to just pack up and leave BiH. If the Serbs in BiH aren't happy move to Serbia proper, it's that easy. The Serbs will have no choice but to call Sarajevo their capital or suffer E.U sanctions like they had in the past. If Tadic's Serbia wants to enter the E.U within 5-10 years and not 30-40 they will proclaim BiH as one country.

Or is he merely taking this opportunity to explain to Dodik just how disastrous it would be for Serbia if RS were to do anything silly? This is one clear case of where a declaration of independence would be contrary to international law, since it would involve breaking an international agreement. We've all seen how well that worked out for Turkish North Cyprus.

this is the year where republica srpska is independent and will join serbia why not its already started its no secret so it will be done and next the Serbian lands of krajina must have full autonomy and all the Serbian people to return and go to their Serbian lands because krajina is Serbian lands and never was part of croatia and then independence because that's what the people would want and should happen and all the Serbian parts of montenegro because that's also Serbian land in history and will be joined to serbia not for greater serbia like great Britain but those are Serbian lands and will join mother serbia and montenegro is almost 50% Serbs anyway and they dont want to live under a gangster government and they want and wish to join serbia so this should all be on the table this year.

The sooner a referendum is held in Republik Srpska the better.
(I wish people would stop comparing the situation in BiH to that in Kosovo i Metohija - it's totally different).
The citizens in Republik Srpska have a genuine right to self-determination based on sound principles of International Law.

Personally, I see no reason why Rupiblik Srpska, after a referendum, could not join together with the Republic of Serbia. I feel it would make sound political and socio-economic sense.

I really cannot see when Kosovo can split from Serbia that RS cannot split from Bosnia...

Apparently Tadic continues to provoke instability in the region by talking all this nonsense about reconciliation, peace, and European integration. Greater Serbian nationalism truly lives, no doubt :)

NEXT year, RS will be celebrating independence. RS is already better connected by infrastructure to Serbia than the bankrupt half of BiH. Let this show ONLY UNITY SAVES THE SERBS & may the cooperation continue & spread to Montenegro & Krajina. Even the muslims of Serbia know where there loyalty lies: BELGRADE. Theres no hope for the Federation, its bankrupt & incompetent & disunited. Good riddance.

pre 14 godina

may i say that a split of RS from federation is quite utopia, unfortunately international politic is much more complicated than the right of self -determination, which is such an abused concept.
as always it was, if US and UK are not on your side, you 'll bite the dust

I absolutely agree with you, I would say that whoever is in power in Belgrade have to play the nationalist and radical politics. I wonder if ever Serbia will change?

this is the year where republica srpska is independent and will join serbia why not its already started its no secret so it will be done and next the Serbian lands of krajina must have full autonomy and all the Serbian people to return and go to their Serbian lands because krajina is Serbian lands and never was part of croatia and then independence because that's what the people would want and should happen and all the Serbian parts of montenegro because that's also Serbian land in history and will be joined to serbia not for greater serbia like great Britain but those are Serbian lands and will join mother serbia and montenegro is almost 50% Serbs anyway and they dont want to live under a gangster government and they want and wish to join serbia so this should all be on the table this year.

'Tadic is seriously weakening his standing in the region and internationally by continually and purposefully violating Bosnia-Herzegovina's sovereignty and the dignity of its people.

(FairPlay, 9 January 2010 19:25)'

Or is he merely taking this opportunity to explain to Dodik just how disastrous it would be for Serbia if RS were to do anything silly? This is one clear case of where a declaration of independence would be contrary to international law, since it would involve breaking an international agreement. We've all seen how well that worked out for Turkish North Cyprus.

Do u know what bosnia is?
its yugoslavia in little form nothing more nothing less
the people who live there serbs/croats/bosnians
are all natives to the country
the diffrence is that when the turks came they introduced islam (back than everyone was orthodox christian meaning serb!!!)
Tito introduced the muslim ethnicity but only serb/croat muslims were nameing themselves muslim (albanians/turks and others did not) tito was anti serb and made them smaller and weaker by introducing new ethnicities muslim/montenegrin
it was all a stupid war made by bad politics
and i believe that bosnia belongs to serbia or at least RS ... no indepandance but joining serbia.
Beacause it always was serbian land! and people who live there are serbs with different religions.

ps it is 2010, last we checked -- whatever happened to turning over your beloved mladic to the Hague?!
(roberto, 9 January 2010 19:03)

Ooh Roberto yet another turgid incoherent presentation authoured by you.
Well while in Sarajevo did you manage to convince the now almost ethnicly pure Muslim city to start a mad fervent search for that convicted war criminal Branimir Glavas? You know the one where a Croatian extradition request has been denied by Bosnian courts in a fix worthy of the utmost condemmnation or was that too hard and we decided it was easier to yell Srebrenica genocide.

Roberto you cannot be taken seriously.

Proffessor Raymond K. Kent Emeritus, sums it up for me and is a whole lot more factual and disengaged then you.
http://www.mail-archive.com/balkannews@yahoogroups.com/msg01932.html
But then again for this critical thinking I might need to be subdued with the abuse of words of genocide deniar, rapist and murder.

There should be a Srebrenica day in Serbia including these victims and the story to be put in context in line with the hard truth devoid of any romantic notions.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fgKltKaKewg

Anyway Roberto it is the Serbs turn to speak your freinds in Sarajevo who looked down upon the Srebrenica victims and treat the survivors with distain and use their suffering to further political motives internationally have spoken for over a decade it is now time to listen.

You know the one Bosnian courts refused an extradition order for.

Unlike Serbia, Bosnia knows where he is, ooh and Serge Brammertz is satisfied with Serbia's efforts in the hunt for Mladic he is the one who matters.I'm also wondering hows the hunt for Osama going must be damm easy to acheive.

I'm just wondering when Bosnia is going to stop idolising war criminal Naser Oric and recognise all the victims of Srebrenica so that Serbia can implement a Srebrenica day?
