IFJ calls for probe in Bulgaria journalist killing

The International Federation of Journalists (IFJ) have called on Bulgarian authorities to investigate the murder of journalist Boris Nikolov Tsankov.

In Bulgaria, many people are upset about labelling Tsankov a journalist. He had a long criminal record , and good connections with the mafia himself. He did publish a book, and some articles in the not-so-serious Weekend newspaper. So caling him a 'journalist' might be justified, but he was not in any way an investigative journalist, or a prominent journalist as the BBC and NYT put it.
