Bravo B92

Nice emotional manipulation, the last paragraph of the article, completely unrelated to the Kosovo trip, but it shows the reader "where this naughty Croatian man belongs".

Ian,

You knew that calling someone love has a good chance of causing offence! Even in Yorkshire some women would pull you up and say they are not your love. It rather depends on who is saying it and in what context. In a political discussion it is not likely to be used in Yorkshire or anywhere, is it?

It was, in fact, condescending. Whether you intended that or not is something else - I know what I think.
(Mister, 10 January 2010 19:35)

Thank you for clearing that up.
Given my history with Ian UK, we all know how he meant it. I could just hear the tone in his voice when he said "love".

Poor Mesic, he's under the unfortunate impression that anyone of consequence even cares what he thinks -- only the poor Albanians care and it's nothing personal, Stjepan -- like an ugly girl, they'll droolingly fawn all over anyone who give them the tiniest bit of attention.

"Peggy, you are obviously not familiar with the Yorkshire Dialect of English. The term "love" can be used to refer to anyone in a kind polite way, especially from the cities of Leeds, Bradford, Wakefield and Sheffield. If you find it insulting I'm sorry. Not intentional. "

Albanians in Kosovo... You give out "honourary" cheap medals and erect tacky statues to any joe who will give you the time of day. Kosovo is part of Serbia, and your insecurities about this make you do the most ridiculous things. You look like a bunch of clowns with your worthless "honours." Serbia, best of luck to you.

Yes, the Kosovo Declaration of Independence specifically recognizes it:

"We welcome the international community's continued support of our democratic development through international presences established in Kosovo on the basis of UN Security Council Resolution 1244 (1999)."
(Amer, 9 January 2010 15:44)

...say the Albanian chicken thiefes from Pristina, but not the UN Security Council and thats why Kosovo de jure is still Serbia,
no matter whether you like it or not, whether Mesic comes or goes,or your drug smugglers get arrested or not...

Love is used as a demeaning word if used by someone who is not exactly your friend and you know that as well. You're not talking to someone who isn't aware of the English system. Australia is very close to it still.

Peggy, you are obviously not familiar with the Yorkshire Dialect of English. The term "love" can be used to refer to anyone in a kind polite way, especially from the cities of Leeds, Bradford, Wakefield and Sheffield. If you find it insulting I'm sorry. Not intentional.

Also Mesic was originally meant to visit on the 7th, but changed it to the 8th cos' Belgrade complained

In North America we have a rare saying known as "party hearty" so my point is that the more recognitions Kosovo receives and especially in the event Kosovo is officially declared a sovereign entity than pro-independence Albanians should "party hearty!" Besides what a sight to see when it comes to Albanians rejoicing with much fanfare & jubilance.Incidentally it's good to know that one of my sisters rsides in a country recognizing Kosovo's independence which is United States.

In that case lenard why don't you recognise the increasing reality of Republika Srpska?

Mesić's trip to Kosovo today did not provoke much interest of the Croatian public:b92
But sure did bring to Serbian government who can't do anything about it.

You might advise the Vatican not to waste its time currying favor from the Russian Orthodox Church. The Pope is going full speed trying to repair relations with the eastern Christians. Its not the first time that the smaller issues such as Croats are sacrificed for the greater good. Read about Pope John Paul 2 treatment of Bishop Oscar Romero of El Salvador, then went to pray on his grave after his assignation – remember all for the greater good.

How do people think the Byzantian empire was destroyed? They aksed the Pope for help and the Pope refused because he saw Byzentium as a challange to his rule. Even today the Catholic church will on any day of the week favor Catholics and even Jews over Orthodox Christians. In general it will not favor Mulsims over Christians but exceptions can certanly be made when it would strenghten the power of the Pope in relation the the leaders of the Orthodox Chruch. Although the conflict in Kosovo is not really of a religious nature it is more about different ethnicities and national identies between the regions Albanian and Serbian inhabitants which have been soured through Belgrade's foolish and discriminatory policies over the centuries.

This is a pretty disgusting act. It just goes to show that Croatia has no interest in improving relations with Serbia. This will come back to haunt them soon enough.

So what ever happened to that sky scraper being built in Kosovo? I assume it was just hot air like everything else coming from Pristina. Since independence is irreversibly blocked they can only vent their frustrations through further provocations.

I am glad that we at least continue to offer negotiations and a path to lasting peace and prosperity. It's a shame Croatians and ethnic Albanians are blinded by hatred and nationalism. I wonder how long the West will continue to bankroll that attitude?

On January 7, just a day ahead of his visit to Kosovo, the Croatian president decided to reduce by one year the sentence handed down to a former member of Croatian police Siniša Rimac by one year.

Rimac is a convicted murderer of ethic Serb civilians, who committed his crimes during the war in 1991.
--
This is a pretty disgusting act.

Don't worry about croatian-made skyscraper in Pristina, all the needed infrastructure has been settled and Konstruktor (in which my oncle serves as engineer) is only waiting the cold weather to end in order to begin with the first floors.

I've been once in Kosovo when I was a child and the less I can say is that it looks far better now than under Milosevic's prosperous era....

And as to relations with Serbia, we don't need them thanks. We don't need your few poor tourists, we're just happy with americans, british, russians, french,....... and of course germans and austrians.

BTW, I really wonder what Kosovo should benefit from being again part of such a bankrupted country which survives through IMF and EU aid...

Let's not be naive, and let's not be like Mesic's abused Serb wife and go back for more punishment.
These people have a serious complex and are jealous of Serbs, and let's not pretend they are our friends, and let's not support them one bit - full boycott on Croatia and everything Croatian by every Serb citizen - that is the only way to deal with these people.
