Have a nice day! Greetings from a real state (and not a UN governed province)!

You forgot to include from a real state that recognizes and supports the Independence of Kosovo and denies it as a part of Serbia.

Dont blame the Albanians, it was Tadic who "singed" something, he is your president, hold him accountable ;)

IF you have voting power in Kosovo than maybe you can find out the transcript.
(troika melb, 8 January 2010 12:07)

I am NOT blaming anyone. I simply said that I wanted to see the transcrip of that agreement because I don't belive that it exists. I don't belive the Albanians.

Where does blame come into any of this?

Pristina is told never asked. It’s best to keep quiet and not appear a foolish as if anyone would ask the Albanians the time of day.

The message Tadic sent is peace. Lets use that message to move forward and to help the province escape the past. Enough of the hatred and lies.
(Zoran, 8 January 2010 13:03)

I must completely agree with you. Serbia has a very moderate leader today, and this helps Serbia a lot.

I must say that even though Thaci does not have a moderate past, I am yet to see an extremist move that he has made. Although I personally do not favor him being in power, to be realistic, his stance on kosovo's independece will not be any different than the most moderate K-Alb politician. Serbia know this very well.

The more Serbia contributes to blocking Kosovo's progress the more polarized becomes the situation between K-Alb and Serbs. Tadic very soon will not be even able to visit, and K-Alb stance towards Serbs will become more polarized which will only hurt the serbs in Kosovo, and reduce Serb presence in there.

The only way towards co-existence is through economic well-being. Serbia should reach a pact with Albanians to only fight a political battle in the highest levels only, such as the one for the UN seat, and not block Kosovo's participation in economic forums such as CEFTA etc. On the other hand Serbia and Albania should increase economic cooperation and use Kosovo as a bridge for this. It will create a larger market as well, and Serbia will get access to see.

By working with both countries Kosovo will become more open and lessen the tension. Otherwise the only solution will be partition, I think will not help in the long run.

if you want to forget the past, you have to improve the present, and the only improvement that matters really is, the economic one.

The question Mike is how many years this nice choreography will go on :)

Let's run down the, slightly modified, list again:

1. Some major Serbian holy day comes up prompting officials from Belgrade to visit Kosovo (note: by "visiting" Kosovo, this basically means going outside the northern Ibar/Gracanica area. Going to those places is like going to Nis: nobody cares and it doesn't make news)

2. Pristina obviously puts up a half-hearted attempt at blocking this move.

3. Belgrade says it can go wherever it wants, even though it has to announce this in advance to alert the proper UNMIK/EULEX officials.

4. Not wanting to cause any more problems than what already exist, EULEX approves the visit.

5. Pristina then says was "approved" by them. But will be under close scrutiny not to say anything "political" (read as: anything that goes against the official narrative of Albanian historical memory).

6. Serbian official goes to Kosovo. Lights a candle, plays with local children, poses for a photo. Says something relatively neutral but steadfast and optimistic.

7. Pristina fumes at what they understood to be a provocative statement (usually calls for reconciliation, peace, and EU entry), negating any notion they "approved" any visit, and vows will never be able to enter Kosovo again (again, more for internal consumption between rival parties/clans. I have little doubt Haradinaj called Thaci a weenie more than once.)

8. Belgrade says it never asked Pristina and never needs to ask Pristina. It will only cooperate with EULEX

9. Thaci/Sejdiu make some statement of defiance. Kurti makes some demonstration of defiance.

10. Next Serbian holy day comes a few weeks/months later. Repeat steps 1 - 9.

The choreography is almost predictably rhythmic at this point.

You are forgetting Mikey that the supervised independence isn't for eternity. NATO has announced plans to cut down its' troops from 15,000 to 10,000 and by next year as much as 5,500. When NATO leaves Kosovo Army (KSF) and Kosovo Police (KP) will increase. That means Prishtina's sovereignty just got stronger.

Well, what can I say? Ethnic Albanians continue to vent their frustration through further provocations. Now they have teamed up with Croatians to stir the pot but it's all a bit pointless.

We know that Pristina does not have authority over our province and we will continue to offer negotiations as a path to lasting peace and prosperity. Spitting at us is not going to change that.

In the mean time, the provokations only harm the ethnic Albanian and Croatian cause. In terms of reputation, Serbia is making significant progress on the world stage so it will be far better to co-operate than to provoke.

The message Tadic sent is peace. Lets use that message to move forward and to help the province escape the past. Enough of the hatred and lies.

There is no point in agruing whetjer he asked K-institutions. Point for argument should be;
Why did he need to ask/inform anybody when he is coming to KiM/Serbia.
To me is the same as asking/informing EULEX or K-Gov for entry permit, you still have to ask to enter part of the country that you claim is yours.

More or less, statements from both sides are insulting the public in general, since the public knows the truth. They know that Tadic can come only during religious holidays and cannot come without permit but not from K-Gov. While Kosovars know that Tadic will come without the permit of K-Gov but of EULEX/UNMIK/KFOR.

Prishtina - let's face it, as Mike put it in other threads, you signed the dotted line at best, so stop acting like any real decision-making was made on your end. At least have the decency and self-respect to shut up about it. Beating your chest isn't going to make you look or sound any better.

Belgrade - you had to "inform" someone to travel within your "country" - and you dare parade yourself. Truly pathetic. Way to use a holiday for political purposes; how about just say the damn prayers, call for peace, basically the whole Miss World enchilada, and move back to Belgrade? Or is pride and eye-poking what you need, along with food, water and shelter, to live?

Pristina is told never asked. It’s best to keep quiet and not appear a foolish as if anyone would ask the Albanians the time of day.

Dont blame the Albanians, it was Tadic who "singed" something, he is your president, hold him accountable ;)

IF you have voting power in Kosovo than maybe you can find out the transcript.

I am NOT blaming anyone. I simply said that I wanted to see the transcrip of that agreement because I don't belive that it exists. I don't belive the Albanians.

Where does blame come into any of this?

Have a nice day! Greetings from a real state (and not a UN governed province)!

You forgot to include from a real state that recognizes and supports the Independence of Kosovo and denies it as a part of Serbia.
