You know the most pathetic thing about this post? The victims were civilian, one of whom was a 12-year old girl. You mention beatings of POWs, and while that is wrong, it in no way compares to this. POWs are combatants, and though terrible, it is a bit easier to understand this brutality. But a 12-year old girl? Come on man, be real.

If those beatings actually happened, where would one start to compare them with Croatian Ustasha's sadistic tortures and human violations that were perpertrated on the Serbs around the same time frame?---How about the ethnic cleansing horrors during and after Operation Storm, also in the same time frame?
And how about your WW2 Concentration Camps with your sadistic and famous Ustasha speciality of Serbian head crushing with wooden mallets,butchering, torturing,decapitations en masse---shall I go on and on and on?

Which crimes were those? Are you talking about the 800,000 Serbs killed by your Croatians between 1940 and 1945?

When I press shoulders with those westerners and our domestic types in the future talking of the reign of Mesic I will not let the conversation end without mention of this disgusting move.
For that girl: no need to jail the guy. Just give him 3 meter of good quality rope, it is a sentence well-deserved. Any child-rapist or child-killer deserves 3 meter rope, no excuse, whatever nationality he has. Even if I don't like death sentence per se.
In "old" Hungary, SFRJ the rope was the norm for such cases, in Russia few gram of lead. Now we are more human, but sometimes the cases just ask for the "old-style" justice. I am generally against death penalty but I am not THAT strict in cases involving children, for instance. In States, the "Yosemite-rapist" got lethal injection verdict and Tim McVeigh was already sentenced - and I did not lose a single minute of sleep. Even if one claimed "voices in the skies" told him to do what he did and the other claimed political reasons to blow up a building including a kindergarten.
