Sooner or later there will be no checkpoints between Belgrade, Pristina and Tirana. And Serbian, Albanian and other language speakers will mingle freely. as it is today in Benelux, or in Trst (Trieste) Remember the Trieste dispute? It was red hot 60 years ago! Sooner or late the Kosovo dispute will follow suit. It would be better if that happan sooner rather than later.

MARK

He didn't ask anyone! He was just informing KFOR to keep hostile albanians at bay while he is there. You trust your politicians. You need to realize that the albaninas are not in control, KFOR is.

The same way that Thachi or Sejdiu will have to ask permission to go to Zvecan, Leposavic, Zubin Potok, or the majority of N. Mitro.

I agree with you that Serbs will not be able to take control over the entire territory of Kosovo peacefully. The same goes for the K-albanians. This means that Kosovo is in other words a partitioned territory. If the ICJ rules in favour of both peoples it will be a green light for partition. These two people will not be able to coexist so partition is the only solution. You have to understand that Serbs will never allow its holy land to be ruled by muslims, not with out a fight anyway. K-albanians telling us when and if we can go to visit our monasteries and churches. No thanks! You can be your own masters but never ours.

I am with Zoran... you two failed to appreciate that last time Tadic made a political statement in Decani. This was against the wishes of Pristina and they howled with outrage.

Once again Pristina was told by its masters that Tadic is coming regardless of what they want and again they say "Only if he does not talk politics!" Of course again he will, and there is nothing they can do about it. Gotta love it:)

I'd like for the so called Kosovo institutions to say no to Tadic. See if he will respect that decision.
He had to anounce that he was comming not to risk getting killed by mobs of albanians who have nothing better to do then to harass Serbs on Christmas.
(MikeC, 5 January 2010 22:05)

If Kosovo Gov says NO, I don't think it will be that easy for Tadic to go in, as EULEX will not simply overrule their decision without some kind of agreement, and consent from them.

Right now Kosovo institutions have indeed little saying in this matter, due to the fact that Kosovo does not have an army yet. It all comes down to that. Security is provided for them by KFOR.

However, how long is this going to last, 10 years, maybe 20. Already KFOR is reducing its troops and before they leave they will make sure Kosovo is able to protect itself. US already gave Kosovo green light to purchase arms from US.

In any case I think Tadic must be the only president in the world to ask permission to visit the territory of its own "country". Clearly Kosovo does not represent a friendly region for Tadic or any Serb official, and Serbian Gov controls nothing in Kosovo, besides some Serb enclaves.

We can twist this all day long, anyway we want, the bottom line is that even you deep down know very well, Kosovo is never going to be controled by Serbia again, at least not peacefully.

Tadic may go there 100 times, he will still need to ask permission first, needs a large security escort, and only visit Serb areas.

if this sounds glorious or like a victory to you, you can have it anytime.

Do you honestly think that Tadic could have gone in Kosovo without prior notice or permission? Why doesn't he try, but has to request permission from this or that Kosovo institution which he does not control, or anounce his visit 2 weeks in advance.

Tadic announced his visit last year http://tinyurl.com/kosovovisit and would only need to inform the UN to arrange security. Of course they would then inform Pristina but no-one can prevent his visit.

Tadic will go to Kosovo and once again state that Kosovo is Serbia, just like last time.

Ohh, thank you so much for allowing president Tadic to visit his own territory! I heard Tadic applied for a visa at Kosovos embassy in downtown Belgrade. Ha ha ha! What losers Thaci and co are. Tadic is coming and there is nothing they can do about it. However, so they won't look weak in front of their own people they say "we granted him...bla bla bla". The albanians didn't grant Tadic anything that wasn't his to begin with.
(MikeC, 5 January 2010 16:32)

Not sure whom should laugh at whim here.

Do you honestly think that Tadic could have gone in Kosovo without prior notice or permission? Why doesn't he try, but has to request permission from this or that Kosovo institution which he does not control, or anounce his visit 2 weeks in advance.

Sure K-Gov is cooperating with innternationals as Kosovo was suppose to be under "supervised independence" for a while, so playing along with EULEX is reasonable and acceptable to attain an atmosphere that benefits the goal of independence (which is an atmosphere of peace and stability).

Yes, Kosovo Gov may not control all its territory.

So Tadic can once again sneak in and act as if he is visiting his own country .... ohh what a turn on. If this is all he can do, he can come and visit everyday.

But he will never be Kosovo's president, nor K-Alb will be citizens of his country. This as real as that meal he ate this morning.

Mike

My question is,why not visit Prishtina as the capital of your so called "PROVINCE"???"
(Kosova-USA)

-- The same reason why Hash and the rest can't visit Gracanica or KM as the second largest city of their so-called country: international forces are keeping them out because they don't want problems, "borders" or not. This should be painfully obvious to even you at this point my friend.

"Thus, as a conclusion THACI DECIDED ON THE ISSUE. Like it or not." (Mirub Jager)

-- If it gets you through the day thinking that Thaci signed something, then fine. But you can't honestly think that Pristina could ever grow a pair on its own and go against what the EU and the US says, seeing as how they're shot down everytime they try. Wasn't Sejdiu saying something like he wouldn't invite Tadic to his little summit that never materialized? So Sejdiu says Tadic shouldn't come to Kosovo, but Thaci approves a visit for another matter? If that were the case, why didn't he invite Tadic to Pristina to spend Christmas in the newly rebuilt church there? Like I said, if it makes you happy thinking what you do, go right ahead, but Tadic did the same thing for Easter last year and EULEX told Thaci what to do. Afterwards, Thaci said something like he wouldn't have anyone from Belgrade come to Kosovo again. Oops. Either he forgets his own words, or he’s told when to dance and how to dance by forces higher up.

"One does not have to have a PHD to understand the meaning of this." (Albanac)

-- Yes, it's perfectly clear. A piece of paper written by either Feith or Dell was shoved under Thaci's nose with a big "sign here" sticker attached to where he was to "approve" the memo. It was already approved but in order to make it look like Pristina's not acting out of character, some useless affirmation from the Albanian leadership was necessary. Do you really think Pristina has a say over matters like this when they can't even control the comings and going in their own "country"? Let's not exaggerate reality in order to score a few cheap points of self-gratification.

One of those conditions, he specified, was “not to abuse the visit for political speeches”.

That was one of the apparent conditions last time and Tadic went ahead to state Kosovo is Serbia. Thaci said he wouldn't allow him back in but now he has to eat his words once again.

This only strengthens the argument that our historic and cultural landmarks are so important to our wellbeing as Serbs that we must under all circumstances retain control over them. If not, access to them will become a political game. Thank you for helping us.

Even Ahtisaari’s plan guarantees such rights.

So, go ahead and shoot yourselves in the foot, threaten our access to the very foundation of our civilization.

Very quickly public opinion will change, and you’ll be wearing the black hats again. Just remember for most of the last century, Serbs were the “good guys” and you were the “bad guys”. Don’t expect the current situation to last forever.

Come one “Serbian Campus” guys, it is so clear; Mr. Tadic has applied to the Kosovo Government Institutions to enter Kosovo. I don’t see what is obscured in here. I also understand your anger over the story, but this real happened, Mr. Tadic’s requeste was positively treated by Kosovo Government. In other words, this is a prelude to the new page, what is to start getting accustomed with the fact that Kosovo is an International recognized entity, with all its prerogatives. I would have rather seen Mr. Tadic at the mini summit of neighboring countries’ presidents which is to be held in Prizren soon. Instead of spending the precious time at churches releasing poising statements and very dangerous messages, he would be in position to talk about the cooperation and harmony among Ballkans. At the end; I don’t really understand the anger displayed in here?!

Let it be known that Tadic had requested permission to enter Kosovo!!

One does not have to have a PHD to understand the meaning of this.

One may say whatever, but, there is one fact: Tadic submitted a request to visit not a notice of intent. As such it had to be considered by someone. As the Civil Office (Peter Faith) did not then it fell onto Kosovo Gov't to decide. Thus, as a conclusion THACI DECIDED ON THE ISSUE. Like it or not.

Mike

pre 14 godina

Give peace a chance…

One of those conditions, he specified, was “not to abuse the visit for political speeches”.
--
That was one of the apparent conditions last time and Tadic went ahead to state Kosovo is Serbia. Thaci said he wouldn't allow him back in but now he has to eat his words once again.

When Thaci talks, it's a safe bet to assume the opposite.

Do you honestly think that Tadic could have gone in Kosovo without prior notice or permission? Why doesn't he try, but has to request permission from this or that Kosovo institution which he does not control, or anounce his visit 2 weeks in advance.
(Denis, 5 January 2010 20:15)
--
Tadic announced his visit last year http://tinyurl.com/kosovovisit and would only need to inform the UN to arrange security. Of course they would then inform Pristina but no-one can prevent his visit.

Tadic will go to Kosovo and once again state that Kosovo is Serbia, just like last time.

I'd like for the so called Kosovo institutions to say no to Tadic. See if he will respect that decision.
He had to anounce that he was comming not to risk getting killed by mobs of albanians who have nothing better to do then to harass Serbs on Christmas.

I we would be stupid enough listening to you or following the Serbian 2010 wish list that would be the way to go,but unfurtunately for you we will work with them instead against them, they helped as in bad times, they're helping as to consolidate the institutions of the new state and I'm sure that their advice it's better than yours.Because you can't get over the fact that Tadic had ask permision from Kosova/o government ( let it be formal or thru pressure from the EU&US representatives doesn't matter ) it's your problem, twist it however you like it,if Kosovo is Serbia would be true he wouldn't have need one.

He didn't ask anyone! He was just informing KFOR to keep hostile albanians at bay while he is there. You trust your politicians. You need to realize that the albaninas are not in control, KFOR is.

Boris Tadic is the President of Serbia , Kosovo is Serbian Territory, therefore he does not need any permission from US/NATO puppet regime in Pristina.

Just for fun for Thaci & Co

Highwater risin', rising night and day
All the gold and silver are being stolen away....

Highwater rising the shacks are sliding down
Folks lose their possessions, the folks are leaving town
Reformation shook it, broke it, then she hung it on the wall
Say you dance with whom they tell you to or you don't dance at all
It's tough out there

I agree with you that Serbs will not be able to take control over the entire territory of Kosovo peacefully. The same goes for the K-albanians. This means that Kosovo is in other words a partitioned territory. If the ICJ rules in favour of both peoples it will be a green light for partition. These two people will not be able to coexist so partition is the only solution. You have to understand that Serbs will never allow its holy land to be ruled by muslims, not with out a fight anyway. K-albanians telling us when and if we can go to visit our monasteries and churches. No thanks! You can be your own masters but never ours.
