I'll watch the papers more carefully around Oct. 23rd from now on.
(Amer, 5 January 2010 16:38)

Oct. 23 is the day when some madman are out there, running on the streets. At at least one occasion there was a pretty violent demo at the Serbian embassy calling for end of Serbia. The demonstrants also had "death to USA", "death to Russia" and "death to Israel" banners. So I guess, not just Serbia was the problem.

In any case, the war against USA, Russia, Israel and of course Serbia is imminent. No question, Magyar Gárda will win it like 1-2-3.

But jesus, what we will do with so many prisoners of the war? This alone is scary.

'Hey, there are 10 million Hungarians and only few thousand in Magyar Gárda.'

But the fighting reputations are entirely different.

Remember Josef Skvorecky? In addition to "The Cowards" he wrote a book about the U.S. Civil War, where a group of Czechs in Chicago (I think it was) decide to form a battalion (or was it only a company?) to go fight for freedom (post-1848 immigrants, of course). After they vote to make the official uniform pants red in color, everybody wants to join. Nastily, they tell a German that of course he can't belong; they agree to let a Slovak in, because "nobody can help who his father is," and they automatically elect the Hungarian aspirant as their leader, because "Hungarians know about things like this."

I'll watch the papers more carefully around Oct. 23rd from now on. (Russia is still in the process of bringing its forces up to Nato standards, and I'm not sure how helpful they'll be until they complete the process.)

'There are going to be a lot of troops leaving Kosovo soon, are you going to bad-mouth all of them? (!)
(Amer, 4 January 2010 18:59)

Amer, if you were directing that question towards me I will answer the question for you.'

No, I wasn't directing it at you, Kosovari, but at the person I quoted at the beginning of the post. And it wasn't intended to sound all that upset - couldn't you tell from the "(!)" that I was grinning? But the last thing Kosovars need to do is start running down every nationality whose government does something political they don't agree with.

In any case, these are for the most part National Guards units - which consist largely of married men with kids - (or married women, as far as that goes) - and everybody over here will be just as glad to see them return as everybody over there will be glad to see them leave.

Hey there, lay off my Slovaks! There are only 5 million of them, they can't be sending battalions out, here and there, all around the world. Personally, I was happy to see the Czechs and Slovaks working together again. There are going to be a lot of troops leaving Kosovo soon, are you going to bad-mouth all of them? (!)

Hey, there are 10 million Hungarians and only few thousand in Magyar Gárda. But a large sign advertising Zágráb, Szabadka, Újvidék (and obviously Nándorfehérvár, for who does not know: that city means ex-Beograd) is firmly there, on someone's private property and every driver driving on route 10 near Auchan Pilis can see it.

As we know, strong forces are gathering to re-take Rigómezö ( = ex-Kosov@), all up till Szkopje or so.

I do not know, what means do exist for that, but year after year the declaration of war on America, Russia, Israel is due on October 23.... and always postponed. Probably won't happen sooner than after Beograd becomes Nándorfehérvár and Kosovo Rigómezö. To bad, I want to see it.

In the meantime we have to be satisfied with re-taking of Montenegro and Croatia - but for Summer season only.

Let's hope more and more KFOR soldiers can go back home to their countries, and there won't be murders, riots and looting of churchs and monestaries again, which means they would need to stay longer...

I've said it before and I'm gonna say it again that by 2015 there will be couple of hundred of American soldiers at the Bondsteel and few British and German intelegence guys, the rest will go home by then and whole Kosova will be controled by Kosova's security forces.

I expect that by 2015 Kosova will be permanent NATO member however there is a great chance for Kosova to become a NATO memeber in couple of years.

Amer, if you were directing that question towards me I will answer the question for you. I am not bad mouthing the Slovaks. The more NATO / KFOR troops leave the more Kosovo Security Force (KSF) will increase. You can also be certain the authority of Kosovo Police will reach even in certain areas where their presence is at a minimal level.

This is a positive sign that the level of threat is also decreasing.

According to local news agency SITA, Slovakia is implementing a political decision made by NATO to decrease the number of KFOR soldiers from 15,000 to 5,500.

Now it's down to 5,500 from 10,000? YES YES YES!!

Bye bye Slovaks.

The Slovak soldiers have been in Kosovo for 11 years. The first unit of 40 engineers arrived in 1999 and served as part of an Austrian battalion.

Since 2002, based on an agreement with the Czech Defense Ministry, the Slovak unit served in the Czech-Slovak battalion of KFOR.
