> as to when will Kosovo be rid of him, will be when the majority of people feel he is not the right person for the office. As of yet I do not think that is the case.

For all intents & purposes, 'pristina' is run by the albanian mafia through protege's like Thaci. Until & if the K-albanian people can get rid of this cancer, they stand little real chance of making any progress. And replacing someone like Thaci with someone like Haradinaj is not the answer.

Repeating, just when will albanians get rid of Thaci & his clones?

Repeating, given the endemic nature of this cancer in Kosovo, is this even possible?

> As I am not a citizen of Kosovo, the decision will not be up to me.

Apologies.. assumption on my part.

> The reference to Milosevic, was that Serbian interests lie with the ethnic Serb population in Kosovo and no one else.

Self evidently false - see the case of the gorani school which you yourself acknowledge.

As to the K-albanian majority, what do you expect given that they are the ones refusing to even negotiate in good faith. If & when they come to their senses & do so, only then will they be entitled to any sort of aid from Serbia.

> but it did not take me long to realize that was an impossibility.

When you have the US, UK etc saying that they will recognise a seccession if status talks have no successful outcome, of course talks will fail.

> As far as the school, should someone go into Australia and build a building with no permits or paperwork, how long would it stand?

In Australia, bulldozing a school for lack of paperwork would be political suicide. In Australia, the courts would send in building inspectors to examine the work & to issue remedial notices if required - only if the work was thoroughly substandard, would bulldozers ever be sent in.

In Australia, a minority could be expected to be treated with impartiality by the authorities & not be subject to stonewalling & obstruction. And in Australia, those same minorities would not be persecuted based solely on their ethnicity.

> I could not find the refernces to the Gorani school but I remember the situation and I think 'shiny new' is a stretch.

Funding for the reconstruction was approved in March 08 & newly refurbished/expanded school was demolished in Oct 08 - 'shiny' & 'new' is exactly what it was. http://www.b92.net/eng/news/politics-article.php?yyyy=2008&mm=10&dd=12&nav_id=54161

> Since little or none of that money every reaches into the Kosovo Serbs hands,

This is what I find to be a bit of 'a stretch' & is what prompted my original comment. While there is undoubtably significant fraud, sorely doubt that the remainder could be described as 'little or none'. That is nothing but propaganda on your part.

So mr Bogdanovic so called "minister for kosovo" if you represent serbs in kosovo you should have a office as well! And those milions promised to serbs are welcomed from everyone but it has to go through banking system which mean you have to pay tax to Kosovo,or you have plan nr2 put them at back of the trunk.

"Albania giving away half of its welth. I bet it will go to repair the damaged Serbian churches.
(MikeC, 3 January 2010 21:20)"

Well, Serbs might have more luck getting permission from the Church authorities than the government in Prishtina did when they offered to pay for repairs.

If Serbia comes through with money for their council and Albania chips in with some for the recently-elected one, Gracanica should do very nicely.

Sali Berisha just announced during a visit to Gracanica that Albania was giving the municipality 400,000 euros. ... It'll be interesting to see what they decide to use it for.

1st Thaci was elected into office by the people of Kosovo in the UNMIK organized elections of 2007, as to when will Kosovo be rid of him, will be when the majority of people feel he is not the right person for the office. As of yet I do not think that is the case.
As I am not a citizen of Kosovo, the decision will not be up to me.
The reference to Milosevic, was that Serbian interests lie with the ethnic Serb population in Kosovo and no one else. As I have said many times here when I first went to Kosovo, my thoughts were that for Kosovo to survive that some way it would have to be reintegrated into Serbia, but it did not take me long to realize that was an impossibility.
As far as the school, should someone go into Australia and build a building with no permits or paperwork, how long would it stand? Would you protest its destruction. I could not find the refernces to the Gorani school but I remember the situation and I think 'shiny new' is a stretch.

> Since little or none of that money every reaches into the Kosovo Serbs hands, one must wonder where it goes. One problem that cannot be blamed on the Albanians because we know that Serbia would burn money before they allowed it to be used to better the lives of the majority of Kosovo.

Seem to remember that some of it was used to build a school for the minority gorani community in Kosovo back in '08. Also seem to remember that said shiny new school was bulldozed by 'tolerant' officials of ethnic albanian majority for not having the right paperwork.

> For that part nothing has changed since Milosevic.

Embezzlement is hardly exclusive to Milosevic's regime or to the serb government since. Would imagine that the scale of fraud involved in the international funding for Kosovo far outweighs that of Serbia's funding for Kosovo's minorities.

And since you brought up Milosevic, just when are you guys going to get rid of Thaci?

Or perhaps the question is.. can you?

Was hoping that giving up smoking that stuff would be one of your new year's resolutions. Oh well..

Sali Berisha just announced during a visit to Gracanica that Albania was giving the municipality 400,000 euros. This should be easy enough to track - a defined sum granted publicly. It'll be interesting to see what they decide to use it for.

Mr Bogdanović - if Serbs in Kosovo will have job and will able to function without pseudogovernment in Pristina and their "institutions" - than they will survive in province. Without money, without electricity - they will emigrate and only North survive.

He said that the ministry is working on achieving maximum freedom of movement through talks with KFOR, EULEX and UNMIK.

"UNMIK" , I sugest you remove that word from your vocabulary. There is no such thing.

Every few days he mentions how much money Serbia has committed to making a better life for Serbs in Kosovo, which if you add it all together is an astronomcal sum. Since little or none of that money every reaches into the Kosovo Serbs hands, one must wonder where it goes.
