What about the Serbs in Serbia? Why is it that the Eastern European countries only like people who do not live in their country? Maybe if Serbia abolished the government, got rid of taxes, got rid of "public Service" workers, stopped creating another thousand ministries, etc. people would not have left in the first place. The government is everywhere, and it is true that the income tax is low (low in a perfect world would be zero) compared to other countries, the effective tax IS NOT. The payroll tax is nearly 30% which makes any private enterprise think twice about coming to Serbia. The only way companies come to Serbia is through mafia activity. And I don't mean the private mafia.. the one where they provide people what they want because the government cannot. But the government mafia. These companies give millions to the politicians to build lavish homes and go on vacations. The rest of the people then suffer because they cannot open their own business because they are not politically connected. It is much better now than in Socialism, where if you made any what more money than they wanted you to they would banish you from the country, hence the large diaspora.
This is an open letter to the diaspora ministry or whatever new government organization's name who steals money from the Serbian people in order to print letters. Abolish all taxes. If Serbia is truly a neutral country, there should be no need for any army. The people should then be armed and not de-armed, as the politicians would like. An armed population will always repel any invasion. See Afghanistan, Viet nam, etc. Then, privatize everything. The only way costs go down is through privatization. If government knew best for roads, airports, utilities, etc. then why don't they also provide restaurants, cell phones, cars (that really worked ), clothings, and every other product? The fact is they cannot and whatever product they provide they must take from someone else. Now that we established no need for any government other than fear mongering and controlling the people, the diaspora will come back and invest without need of the government mafia used at the expense of the Serbian people. All that will come of this is alienation of Serbs living in Serbia. They will resent the Serbs returning because they are given privileges whereas Serbs that stuck it through are now at the bottom again. Mr. Tadic, please see this an understand that there is no need for your position and all that the powers in Serbia do is make life worse in order to benefit themselves. A true free-market would prosper in Serbia no thanks to any government involvement.
