“Funny how you as a respected Community College teacher take the liberty to twist my comment.”

-- Who said I taught at a community college? State college my friend! I’ll leave it up to you to decide where you classify me on that.

"I didn't equate B92 with the old Pravda. I said that your preference would certainly go for a B92, which would be like the old Pravda."

-- Or a Fox News. You always tell people like me I should get out of this country since I’m apparently ruining with my different opinions. Who's the real Pravda supporter and who’s going the twisting? I try as hard as I can to respect your opinions and your beliefs, and I think you think the same since you respond to my comments while ignoring a lot of others.

"What you apparently missed during your schooling is the "explication text" practiced in French schools. Students have to explain the meaning of a given short text. Twisting the meaning would result in a very bad note."

-- Oh come on, Joe. Instead of focusing on what could be a fruitful debate, you unfortunately come off as a cantankerous individual who gets angry when people don’t take your point of view. If we’re going to be talking about academic pedagogies, I always wonder then how argue a point, but when you get flustered, you just lash out like a Glen Beck supporter. French schooling or not, this wouldn't work well for the Debate Club. I and a number of others have yet to get an “explication text” from you on a lot of positions you feel passionate about. Based on your comments here, you more often than not come off as a cranky old man. I’m sorry to say that but, seeing as how we’re being honest here…

Anyway, this is getting silly and you're not really interested in explaining your points. You have your opinions and I have mine. We agree, we disagree, but if you’ve got something to say, say it. The hints of a fine schooling you’ve received should me more than adequate for professionally engaging with someone only fortunate enough to reach state college :))

There's an awful lot of whinging about B92 by some albanians here.

What will you do if your posts that were clearly banned for 'crossing the line' are not reinstated? Will you invade B92's offices and demand independence an acquire B92 for the albanian people?

Who are you guys kidding? Or is it just that there's no fun of 'challenge' of ripping on the Serbs in the albanian forums and news sites?

In fact, you should be very, very grateful to the B92 editors for removing some of your comments - they are stopping you from representing albanians on a prime, english language news portal on the Balkans as being many times worse (etc.) than they really are. Duh!

Don't get me wrong, I really, really don't like to give B92 any credit if possible considering its origin (and plenty of other stuff) but it is not the same animal as it was. I do recognize its reach to the mono-anglo-lingualists interested in the Balkans.

Tabalija, Jashari looks like a Chetnik in the link you provided. But you know what, people are pretty much the same in the Balkans - it's too bad they have these historic conflicts. If they ever acquired peace amongst themselves, and worked together, they could easily surpass the rest of Europe in brains, ingenuity, productivity, and heck, good looks. But in the mean time, lets fight old battles and use our brains for bad, instead of good, and see how we can harm each other, so our children can continue the same tradition.

"You might be right. A terrorised and murdered people acted completely out of order ..... but they did not dig mass graves, or massacred and annihilated entire families including children, women, and eldery.... like your Serbian friends did."
======================
Well Denis, you have an excuse for everything the Albanians did.

Why did they destroy Serbian cemetaries then? Did the dead do them harm as well?
What about the priests and nuns? Did they commit mass murder too?

Actually people who are truly terrorised don't act this way. They are too traumatised to venture out let alone go on a murderous rampage.
Will you excuse the crimes committed by the Serbs in the same way? There are victims on all sides so if you can excuse all this lust for blood for one group, why not for the other?

I've seen footage of a church being vandalised where a young Albanian got up all the way to the top to remove the cross. He did not look like a victim and neither did the crown cheering him on.

(Joe, 28 December 2009 18:55)

It’s more like some Hungarians are being paid by the US to stir up trouble, but the Hungarians are a minority so all they can do is try and damage Serbia’s image – well that’s how the US think, I have always laughed at this strategy. I know that it’s ludicrous but that’s how the US thinks.

Tabalija

pre 14 godina

First Albanians don't be ungrateful say thank-you Mr Jason for selling your propaganda and breaking down Serb population in Serb North by geography. Unfortunately for you point irrelevant.
Because, second, you all need to understand and including Trianon Joe. Our citizens no matter where they were born have right to live on every centimeter of our sovereign land. For instance I was born in south but I was raised in north and speak with laloski accent and all. Does it make me guilty, I did something wrong maybe?
Of course the same doesnt apply for Albanians from Albania who illegally flooded our country after Ww2 and now live in Kosovo. But fair enough it was our mistake we let them.

And about North. Its not about what some poor souls will allow but what their state will do to protect. We're pragmatic people and our line is on the Ibar for now. Its very real reality on the ground. This is not March 2004 when we had government thinking about their own behinds trying to control military and so on after Djindjic was shot, let alone use it to defend citizens. If their supervisors tell Albanians to fetch what I doubt will happen, and our people are not protected from terror we will intervene to save lives and property. First we will intervene diplomatically and I'm sure it will be enough. Make no mistake about that either we are very ready to intervene in any way our state tells us.
Anyway in 2004 when Albanians tried to cross the bridge they know what they got. Read and obey instructions on the bridge. And all will be well.

"Thanks Mike, andwith all due respect but have you read coments from ;MikeC.CG,Jason,tom,etc... what do you think of those coments???" (Kosova-USA)

-- A fair enough question.

I can't say I always agree with MikeC's posts and I know I've at least twice responded to what I felt to be unnecessary jabs by Albanian comments.

"tom" hasn't been around enough to make an assessment.

I know you really don't like Jason for a number of reasons. But I like the man. His comments, while certainly made to stoke a response from people like you, clearly lack the haughtiness and exaggerations a lot of us have come to expect from what you write.

"Are there police in North Mitro?
What are they doing, drinking beer, getting paid for doing nothing and posting comments in here." (olf)

-- They're living Olf. They're living in a city as normal as any other city in SE Europe. I've been there. Have you? You love to portray northern Kosovo as Dodge City but seriously mate, those of us who have been there look through your transparent arguments.

"Also until now most Serbs from Kraina, Bosnia and Kosovo went to Vojvodina to dilute the ethnic composition. That was the main aim. Now they notice belatedly their blunder, too many Serbs left Kosovo." (Joe)

-- I really need to condense my responses to you in one post, but I missed this little one. You want us to weep for the poor Hungarians of Vojvodina as some of the most oppressed people in Europe, yet you couldn't give two winks about Serbian refugees from elsewhere. It's almost as if you think they got what they deserved for being the wrong ethnicity. Then you wonder why people always call you out on your "invectives".

Mike

" am sure you wouldn't like anything more than an old Pravda-like B92 with no opposing views. Oh, isn't terrible that it is not the case?" (Joe)

-- You seem to confuse "opposing views" with any nonsense spoken. You conveniently overlooked my nod to Albanian moderates here, whose opinions I may not always agree with, but almost always respect.

Funny how you refer to B92 as Pravda (again, a testament to your unhealthy Russophobia). If that were the case, why is B92 winning awards year after year for journalism? And why then would you, Mr. America, waste your time here? Best to let us Cyrillic-writing, Slavic speaking, icon worshiping, Commies wallow in anti-American treason in peace since we're beyond redemption, right? :)

First of all, the article doesn't even mention who started the conflict. All we know is that it took place in a multiethnic neighborhood of KM. Mind you, the only "multiethnic" neighborhoods in Mitrovica lie in northern Mitrovica. Why is that?

Second, little troll children like PRN love to take opportunities like this to envision their comic book fantasies of glorious battles and decisive victories that their side cannot win, let alone hope to wage. Suddenly, the comment threads deter from the topic and focus on this little child's rantings that the vast majority of us already know are the most ridiculous and laughable on this site. Yes Jason, PRN is a frustrated little boy who has nothing else left in his arsenal but to call for ethnic cleansing with an army that doesn't exist. But the more we feed this troll, the more he actually thinks he's writing something important.

Third, you know what's going to happen? Nothing. Let me repeat that again: nothing. Why nothing? Because nothing has been the tried and true reposnse to every flare up in this disputed region of Southeastern Europe for the last 10 years. Something bad happens in a volatile region and all of a sudden the armchair generals here predict a sweeping outcome for their side. Was there an Albanian uprising when Feith castrated Pristina's authority even further this past November 15? Has there been an Albanian uprising in response to Kosovo's stagnant and hopeless march towards full sovereignty? If it didn't happen there, it ain't gonna happen with what happened in KM - especially if Albanians weren't even involved.

Not teally, the 2004 riots it did hurt a little but at same time it was a wake up call for Kosova leadership. Thereafter, even UNMIK started thinking differently and transition started in all institutions. All police stations and Police RHQ were handed over to locals from UNMIK-P.Finally in coordination with western allies, Kosova declared its Independence.

Another coment was made about serbs being displaced more than once from Krajina and bosnia, I agree with the psoter that said what that got to do with Kosova. They don't belong in Kosova if they are from other countries, unless they apply for asylum.

I will wait for May and see. I will also bet you my last euro that Pristina would not dare to do what you want! Not with the whole world watching. And not unless you guys want your Nato and EULEX masters to come down upon you like a ton of bricks! The last thing they need is another bloodbath in a place run by them -- yes, Nato and EU are the real bosses in Kosovo, regardless of what they may tell you.

Don't you get it by now that there is a de facto partition of Kosovo at the Ibar? And nobody can stomach rocking the boat.

Krajina and Bosnia refugees don't belong in Kosova
(Law and Order, 28 December 2009 11:45)

????

As Kosovo is a Serbian province Serbian citizens can settle in the whole of Kosovo.

Please compare: citizen of the whole of the USA can settle in California.

No double standards please!

Kosovo is a province. Let's treat it as a province!

Mike

Probably because they dont' spew invectives as a primary objective. It's always funny to see that the most offensive posters complain now and again that their comments are being edited. Funny how you refer to B92 as Pravda (again, a testament to your unhealthy Russophobia). If that were the case, why is B92 winning awards year after year for journalism? And why then would you, Mr. America, waste your time here? I can't say I always agree with MikeC's posts and I know I've at least twice responded to what I felt to be unnecessary jabs by Albanian comments.

"tom" hasn't been around enough to make an assessment.

I know you really don't like Jason for a number of reasons. But I like the man. His comments, while certainly made to stoke a response from people like you, clearly lack the haughtiness and exaggerations a lot of us have come to expect from what you write.

Denis, I never see you comment on how the Albanians joined the German Nazis during WWII to kill and ethnically cleanse Serbs from Kosovo. I don't believe that was peaceful resistance. which is like the Alamo for many Serbs that were displaced or cleansed from the rest of Kosovo. Some were even expelled several times, either from Krajina or Bosnia. They are not about to be run out again, I can assure you.
(Jason, 28 December 2009 10:25)

Isn't it too little too late?
Also until now most Serbs from Kraina, Bosnia and Kosovo went to Vojvodina to dilute the ethnic composition. That was the main aim. Now they notice belatedly their blunder, too many Serbs left Kosovo.

Neither do refugees from Albania, which is about 65% of the total number of albanians in Kosovo.
Also the 1 million k-albania, so called, refugees in Western Europe don't belong there.

If something happens there minimum 200.000 Serbs will rush down there to help our brothers...
And this time Americans will be on our side, these actions only shows the frustration by the Albanians...
They can brag here how "indpendent" they supposedly are,but go to an Albanian forum and listen to their talk if you understand a little Albanian and you will immediately learn how frustrated they are living in alocked up province that is STILL serbian and blocked everywhere...

I would like seeing them starting trouble,it would only benefit us,in retrospect the 2004 violence helped the Serbian cause very much because it turned then undecided countries (like important Spain)to our allies.

Keep it coming Albanians, and to my Serb brothers in Northern Mitrovica,we are down there in an hour if we have to.

Funny how you as a respected Community College teacher take the liberty to twist my comment. I didn't equate B92 with the old Pravda. I said that your preference would certainly go for a B92, which would be like the old Pravda.
What you apparently missed during your schooling is the "explication text" practiced in French schools. Students have to explain the meaning of a given short text. Twisting the meaning would result in a very bad note.

Probably because they dont' spew invectives as a primary objective. It's always funny to see that the most offensive posters complain now and again that their comments are being edited. And considering some of the doozies B92 lets through on both sides, I can only imagine what you people write to spur the censors into action.

Denis, I never see you comment on how the Albanians joined the German Nazis during WWII to kill and ethnically cleanse Serbs from Kosovo. I don't believe that was peaceful resistance. Please comment on that sometime.

======================

It’s more like some Hungarians are being paid by the US to stir up trouble, but the Hungarians are a minority so all they can do is try and damage Serbia’s image – well that’s how the US think, I have always laughed at this strategy. I know that it’s ludicrous but that’s how the US thinks.

Mike

pre 14 godina

Mike

" don't use invectives, etc even so when I try to bring facts from Vojvodina about Hungarians I get deleted." (Joe)

Aleks

pre 14 godina

-- Or a Fox News. You always tell people like me I should get out of this country since I’m apparently ruining with my different opinions. Who's the real Pravda supporter and who’s going the twisting?
