Now, I don't know where you live, but you obviously seem quite ignorant about Albania. Serbia and Albania are fairly similar in income levels today. Prior to 1993 (when communism fell in Albania), Serbia and Yugoslavia were WAY AHEAD in every aspect. Albania is an official EU candidate today. Serbia hasn't made it yet...how come? Is it because you're so respected?
(Ment, 22 December 2009 00:05)

(1) Check the GDP World Figure and Serbia is substantially ahead of Albania.

(2) Travel to Belgrade and then Tirana and you will have a better idea of economic prosperity.

That being said, Albania is rich in reources including Uranium but more importantly large oil and gas reserves which are being currntly drilled by internatinal conglomerates. Its not a matter of resources, but mis-management of those resources by the corrupt Albanian leadership which continues today at the detriment of the majority of the population.

Come on now... Albania had nothing to do with that conflict. The conflict was instigated by UCK members and supporters inside Macedonia. The insurgency was not even supported by mainstream Albanian political parties in that country.
Skirmishes between police and local insurgents hardly count as a war in the conventional sense.

First of all, you do lose any credibility (with Albos at least) when you use terms like "fellow Muslims...". The majority of Albanians could care less about religion and even less about the Middle East. Of course, you'd know it if you ever visited the countries in question, but it's obvious you have not.

Iraq was a mistake of the U.S. from a strategic point of view. Many Albanians however, will agree with the riddance of Saddam. You may not appreciate that agreement, because unlike us, you never had to live under an absolute dictatorship....again courtesy of the U.S. "disastrous" meddling.

By the way, if you ever had any notions that your beloved communists in Greece would come to power and then allow free elections after that, well, you're quite misguided my friend.

A couple of building and bridges being blown up hardly constitutes being blown back to the Stone Age. Not even the bombardments in WWII sent Europe to the Stone Age... so easy with the exaggerations.

I would not worry about anything the CIA does. It’s such an incompetent organisation that I would have to write a book listing all their failures. Thirty years ago it had some very capable people, but after the fall of the Soviet Union most were declared redundant and that expertise disappeared. It then was run by managers who were experts in finance, human resources, equal opportunity etc and they had very few real spies. The US found this out when 9/11 occurred. It will take them another 40/50 years to come up to speed.

Kosova-USA, I would not rejoice in big brother watching because they not so concerned about the Serbs, but are watching the Albanians very closely, you are after all Muslims and they do not trust you no matter how much you think they are your friends.

This will all be irrelevant next March when the Russians open their base in Nis. The only thing the US will then spy on is the local restaurants.

I find surprising the hostility Greek posters here display against the U.S.

You can whine about U.S.'s role in the Greek conflict of the 70's against the Communists, but honestly, having witnessed first hand the destructive consequences of communism on your northern neighbor, I would have assumed you should be thankful you did not suffer the same fate, despite all the negative aspects of the junta.

Well, only time will tell who's making the best decisions diplomatically in the Balkans.

So far however, if European history is any indicator, the countries that have fallen under Russia's influence have always lived to regret it.

Regarding cannon fodders and what not...Albanian troops have been there a while and no casualties yet as far as I know. I don't expect Macedonians to be doing a lot of fighting and dying either.

Macedonia will however be in a position to reap diplomatic dividends out of this and possibly valuable military experience as well, especially when considering that neither Albania or Macedonia have seen military conflict in quite some time now.

US involvement into Greek politics started in the aftermath of world war II and not in the 1970s as you allege.

You're asking me to be gratefull to US for rigging elections, topple goverments and in the end installing a military Junta which carried out the disastrous US plans in Cyprus in 1974.

I can go on and on but we won't agree because you've made up your mind on several issues.I cannot change your mind on your thinking that G Bush is a war criminal responsible for the deaths of thousands of your fellow muslims and he should've been sent to the Hague and not as a democrat and liberator the Albanians think of him.

"You are right, that Embassy compound is the spy center for Balkans. I have seen it with my own eyes and I say more power to Uncle Sam. They did a good job, to keep an eye on Balkans. Don't forget that ;"Big brother is watching you", I am all for it.

(1) Check the GDP World Figure and Serbia is substantially ahead of Albania.

(2) Travel to Belgrade and then Tirana and you will have a better idea of economic prosperity.

That being said, Albania is rich in reources including Uranium but more importantly large oil and gas reserves which are being currntly drilled by internatinal conglomerates. Its not a matter of resources, but mis-management of those resources by the corrupt Albanian leadership which continues today at the detriment of the majority of the population.
