Why are you trying to destroy something so old and so valuable and then excuse it as destroying Milosevic built things?
(Peggy, 21 December 2009 23:27)

What is wrong with that? Religion is the opium of the people. Instead of crying foul about the destruction of the Orthodox Churches you should be calling for the destruction all the mosques as well.

Yes there are many Serbian-American citizens that do not back the US policy, not many outside of that. Also no one outside of the Serbian communities would use the phrase K-Albo's!!
(pss, 22 December 2009 05:02)

Keep crying that only Serbian-Americans could possibly support Serbia in this issue. It only makes you look arrogant and foolish. Anyone who works here has picked up local terminology... so if I say "Kosovo and Metohija" means nothing more than I know the proper name for this PROVINCE. Do you think all the Romanians, Scots, Spanish, and some Brits, Americans and Germans here are all Serbs in disguise too?

Jason

At least the churches and mosques can allways be rebuild...

(Smulan, 21 December 2009 15:13)

This kind of comment comes from someone who has no appreciation of ancient architecture or art. These destroyed sites, be they monastary/church/mosque cannot be replaced. Following this logic, art by Michelangelo is not important if destroyed because it too can be replaced.

"Jason is an american name."

-Wow, what an astute observation.

"Do you think I am stupid...?"

-Do you really want me to answer that???

In all honesty, I never disliked an Albanian in my life until I came here to work and got to know many. This is not a blanket condemnation of all Albanians of course, but I daresay I identify with Serbs far more than I do Albanians. Call me what you will.

"In your comments it clearly showes that you are serb trying to make a bad name for the internationals in Kosovo."

-An extremely arrogant and ill-informed statement. If it makes you feel better to delude yourself into thinking no American can dislike you, then have at it. I hate to break it to you though, there are quite a few of us here that do not care for the average Kosovo Albanian. The truth hurts, doesn't it?

As for making internationals look bad, it depends on what side you support. I tend to think that Serbs would be happy to see at least one American who supports international law and does not agree with Western policy in the Balkans.

As for Ment and Ben, I am not making a threat, rather just pointing out a fact. I applaud the few colleagues who used force to defend Serbian cultural sites in the 2004 riots - sadly however, not nearly enough force was used and it is a stain upon the international community.

P.S. All this aside, I am getting pretty good at the Serbian language so maybe one day I can pass for a native speaker. Sadly because I learned a more eastern Slavic tongue first, everyone says I speak with a foreign accent... something about my pronunciations being too soft

Is this the best excuse for what your country have done against the albanian civilians in Kosovo ? All those massacres wich we all know about was commited by serb paramilitary forces against innocent civilians wich even included children and women. If Nato killed albanians then why all those massgraves all aurond Serbia filled with albanian civilians from Kosovo ? And about albanians bveing refuges from Enver hoxhas regime dosent fit with reality. Albanians in Kosovo has been a majority since as least 16.th century.

I'm also surprised that there isn't the comment that St Nick's church in Pristina was originally built on the foundations of an Illyrian Church 2000 years ago LOL. I was half-expecting that.

You serbs cry about some building but what do you expect from a human being wich you have killed all of his family ? And the churches seems fine now so the K-albanians is clearly showing maturity. The march riots on 2004 was clearly provoked by the serbs in Kosovo directly controled by the goverment in belgrade. I think Europe, US and the rest of the world knows who was and still is the badguy in Kosovo. 12 000 albanians murdered and 40 000 albanian houses destroyed is evidence enough. Nothing compared to some churches wich nobody visits or needs because the majority of the population in Kosovo are muslims.

And yes there are much more destroyed mosques in Kosovo than churches. You cannot even compare the difference.

Jason is an american name. Do you think I am stupid to belive that you are an american and have so much hate against the albanians ? In your comments it clearly showes that you are serb trying to make a bad name for the internationals in Kosovo.

Only animals would be inhumane enough as to attack these religious sites, and judging by the videos that came out after 2004, there sure are a hell of a lot of them in 'kosova'

So you won't hesitate to use a gun, will you?

You must clearly assume you yourself are immune to bullets then... not very bright at all, especially when considering you're serving in a region awash with small weapons and trigger-happy folk ;-).

Feel free to sound tough on the Internet though....it's safer that's for sure.

i just want to make this clear. Simply b/c USA is "backing" k-albos doesnt mean the USA citizens are. Many of us Americans are fully aware of the "behind the curtain" deals that is obviously happening. You think K-Albos have something to offer America. HA!! i truly wonder....
(John Aston - USA, 21 December 2009 18:52)
Yes there are many Serbian-American citizens that do not back the US policy, not many outside of that. Also no one outside of the Serbian communities would use the phrase K-Albo's!!

Not nearly a fraction of the amount of Orthodox churches that were destroyed. I believe you can count on one had the number of mosques... Nice try.

Hm, well the number of Serbian Holy sites happens to be over 150+, and considering the fact that there have been atleast 3 mosques built over the sites of what used to be Serbian churches, I would say none.

Out enemies can destroy buildings but not our spirit.
We will rebuild and start over but your shame for doing thing will remain part of history.

You are losers in the end.

So why don't you restore your mosque, Bekim? Are you waiting for EU taxpayers to pay for that too?
(svojgazda, 20 December 2009 23:11)

Svojgazda- They will probably wait for the Saudis to send them money to build another 20 to replace that one mosque.

I'm also surprised that there isn't the comment that St Nick's church in Pristina was originally built on the foundations of an Illyrian Church 2000 years ago LOL. I was half-expecting that.

Also, B92 its SPC in Serbian and SOC in English when describing the Serbian Orthodox Church.

Your beloved NATO killed Albanians in Kosovo ask Ehud Olmert, he openly stated this fact 3 years ago. You beloved NATO bombed anything in its sights, it did not care if it was a houses or people. Don’t blame the Serbs.
The Albanians in Kosovo are refugees from the Enver Hoxha regime and not native in that area so your Mosques are relatively new whereas our Churches are hundreds of years old.

good news, but the perpetrators should not believe they will not be held accountable.

justice is patient.

and these criminals will pay for what they have done.

What is everyones deal, this is an article based on a religious sacrament being restored for all those who celebrate. This isnt a pawn for an emotional/political chess game. Something that has been destroyed has been rebuilt. Can someone tell me what gives any of you the audacity to attempt to bring this down ? Besides your ego's.

The dark times of Milosevic with all his monster creatures must be destroyed immediately- what have you been waiting Kosovars???…??
(ben, 21 December 2009 15:24)

Do not forget that many of us internationals here have weapons, and those like me would not hesitate to use them if I saw someone trying to destroy a church. Just so you know...

@ Demi

"Ok Jason who are you trying to scare ? Dont play like you are an international. Internationals dosen't have weapons only Kfor do."

-- Ever hear of EULEX?

Skenderbeg was half Serb

(Peggy, 21 December 2009 23:27)

Peggy I don't know why you bother with these people. ANyone with an inclination of a brain knows that Kosova is a Bantu speaking tribe in Kenya and that Albanians are amongst the last arrivals to the Balkan peninsula.

I didn't know that Milosevic was a vampire centuries old who built all those centuries old churches and monasteries.

Why are you trying to destroy something so old and so valuable and then excuse it as destroying Milosevic built things?
