Leonidas,

There is too much hypocrisy about global warming by developing nations, some of them the biggest polluters. They want industrial nations to "do something" but allow developing nations to pollute unrestricted. What a joke. Obama would do better to not go to Copenhagen as a lot of people requested.
As for that "warming" I don't notice anything of it. North of New York it snowed so far twice so early in December. My area is white and very cold. Those professional protesters in Copenhagen should spend a night outside in my area to cool down and get a reality check.

Earlier Friday, the European Union agreed to contribute some $10 billion in climate funding to developing countries through 2012

This is peanuts compared to the cost of the Wall Street bankster's bonuses and their bailouts and the wars in Iraq and Afganistan.

However,i still think the climate change debate misses the point which is our mistaken belief that our current way of life is sustainable and the developing world can have it too.

The sad and unavoidable truth is that there are too many humans alive for the planet tosustain.Educational programes that will curtail population rises to sustainable levels must be put in place. Also the present capitalist model of development is unsustainable and must be replaced by a system based on need and not on greed. These are very difficult problems to tackle and i thing we will be in for a rough ride.
