No kidding!!!

Indeed no kidding: as American with Kosovar ancestry living in Kosovo you are 1000% better off with Kosovo not being part of EU. Most important aspect of EU is the visa-free (even better: borderless) travel and access to EU universities (for the youth) as well trade deals. Besides these YOU DO NOT NEED ANYTHING from EU. In the case of Kosovo, it has the Euro as currency, so even less incentive. You and we have enough local corrupt fat cats to deal with - why have some extra in Bruxelles? To tell us what shape the cucumber has to be we buy in grocery stores?

Besides: as in the case with Hungary, only EU laws which do not endanger the local fat cats are in force. Others are being violated in Hungary day and night. People complain about that corrupt practice, the fat cats tell us a Japanese phrase: "Sosumi!" ( = "So sue me, if you want!" )

I see (for me) NOT A SINGLE BENEFIT that Hungary is part of EU.
But the list of disadvantages is a long essay. Maybe for more advanced countries like Malta or Slovena is better. But be honest: Hungary is light years behind Slovenia, even behind Croatia.

The eu is a modern version of an old idea... So does Serbia really want to shackle itself to a socialist ideal with more rules, regulations and officialdom than ever before seen? Read or listen to Vaclav Klaus's address to the eu parliament in Feb 09 to understand what a disastrous and disrespectful organization the eu is.

"Well lowe Kosovo is not included simply because it has nothing to do with Serbia.
(Whatever you say, 11 December 2009 17:14) "

Now look who's kidding!

I put it to you that the true reason might well be that the EU really doesn't want you Albanians as members!

And contrary to your pronouncement, Kosovo has everything to do with Serbia vide 1244.

Poor Jero;
Surrender Mladic, recognize Kosovo, leave B i H alone than you can join EU -is the message.
What's so mixed in the message?

No kidding indeed! Some EU members actually want Serbia inside the EU asap! The same however can't be said for "Kosova", can it? I don't think Pristina received even one invitation so far to apply, not even from those who most staunchly supported its UDI. I wonder why .....

Anyway my own opinion remains that it is ultimately NOT in Serbia's long-term interest to join the EU and become a quasi-colony of the Germans, French and British in all but name.

By submitting the application for EU candidate status Serbia would send a clear political message to Brussels. The key date is 22 December.

"There are mixed signals coming out of the European Union, with some voices being very strongly in favor of our submitting the application immediately, (but) with some people saying that they don't believe this is such a good idea," Reuters quoted Jeremić as saying.
